Justin, your channel is amazing, I'm practicing all day with all the exercises of your channel, I would love to visit your school at NY, but unfortunately I can't, yet, I'm learning a lot with your videos, please keep it up. Cheers from Brazil.
You are a truly fantastic teachers and your exercises are so fun, partly because you are so encouraging, and partly because of the way you craft them. Thanks for sharing!
I so appreciate your expertise, your lessons are always enlightening on many levels, Your commentary at the end of this lesson was as vital as the lesson itself. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
Your talk about "gift" is true! I have experienced that my self. What a huge different to singing as a giver than just think about "I" (will i impressed them? Will i sing at the perfect note & perfect technique, bla bla..) Thank you, Justin. God bless you.
@@NewYorkVocalCoaching I know, right? I was so moved by this advice. Thank you for sharing your gift - I'll keep it in my heart to remember to share mine.
Thanks very much for letting me know how difficult is to sing "properly". Now I will now have a little more knowledge in appreciation good singing. I might even try out some of the techniques myself. Thanks again. God bless.
Oh my... Thank you much for sharing this "secret". Kind like want to tell anybody "Hey, narrow your mouth! The wider your mouth, the more stressful you will be."
Thanks a lot, you are a really good teacher! I also think that one of the problems with singing an Adele-song might be that there're always people trying to copy the "Adele-Sound", which is quite rough especially in the higher range. So if they're copying her sound "in a wrong way", this might also cause some kind of problems.
Justin, What an awesome piece of advice at the end. The quality of our sounds depends a lot on our mindset so I hope that dedicating my singing to people I love, those who believe in me, will help me achieve the relaxation I'm struggling with when I sing.
Just watched all your vids and really wanting to give singing and such a go. Perhaps after I move I will start back at the beginning and actually do the practices. I really like your style of teaching. It is happy and fun and FUN is the most important part for me when it comes to learning something. Looking forward to the next video ^^
Yes, perfect. Have you heard Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ua-cam.com/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/v-deo.htmle
dude ! i really luv your attitude! u rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are tons o vocal coaches on line to learn from but you make singing and all this stuff super easier to understand and yes ! certainly your not concieded but very humble! i luv how you added tht last deadly IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ! god bless u u rock!
Justin, you are so sweet! I loved what you said. The deadly I. I'm a gift to give and not to focus on "I" as in me but to think of others when singing. Thank you I needed that! Before I killed myself, lol. And I love your comedy style of teaching - Lisa Guerrero
That part of "someone like you" is also right on the first bridge of the female voice so it feels really weird to sing there because you want to shout it in your chest voice like Adele does. I like your videos Justin! Hallo from Amsterdam.
Hi Justin I wonder Why tenors have to covered the voice in the passagio ( f4 -g4 ) Is IT for the sound or saving the voice or both. I struggle with this I in years and now after one lession its perfekt!- Amazing Justin!!!!
Hi Peter, thank you so much for your wonderful question! We encourage you to send it to questions@voicelessonstotheworld.com for Justin to review. Thanks again, wishing you well this holiday season from NYVC!
it would be interesting why the thumps down gave them; we may learn something.....anyways, I am getting much help from Jason and his team...thank you..
Thank YOU for your wonderful support! Justin is so grateful for your hard work and excited about your newfound vocal successes! Wishing you well from NYVC :)
Hi Justin. I sing a song from Wicked (called the Wizard and I) and during the song it has a big "I" vowel in it, at the end, many of the people who played the part belt the vowel inside the mouth instead of pushing the sound back into the nasal placement, Is it still safe to belt inside the mouth?.
Hi trsafit! You don't necessarily need to sound a certain way. If you have specific concerns, we recommend taking these to Justin's live chat! More info in our Community Tab! -NYVC
Hi Edward! The tip of the tongue should be resting at the base of the bottom teeth or touching the bottom gums. The root of the tongue will drop a bit, as that is an essential of the vowel, but ideally it will not drop down too far or too dramatically. -NYVC
Can you do the ah vowel? My bel canto teacher insists that the a vowel is essential for singing but i have always found it too hard and impossible to sing on..prefer the ee vowel
I had to figure this out on my own before i found this video because my "i"s were sounding kind of rough. I find it's easier to think of approach of an "i" more like "ai" like in Thailand with a little bit of an "a" as in apple sounds at the start.
I usually pronounce my "I" quite close to an "ah" vowel, but that maybe due to my accent as I'm Australian, as well as my speed because I talk quite quickly, lots of people have trouble understanding me due to how fast I speak. If I exaggerate vowel sounds when speaking then my "I" then I'll start on "ah" and quickly move to an "ee".
My singing teacher described the forming of the 'I' as if you had popped an egg in your mouth vertically so its point is towards the palate of the mouth. Sounds a similar technique just described a little differently.
i find "e" too be much harder... "i" is easy especially with classical singing "its basically just an "ah" sound in classical singing... its just a dipthong "ahhheee"

Awesome advice 👏👏👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏 Justin you are super!!
Excellent exercise and philosophy!
Trying to learn to sing 'A change in Me'. This is very helpful because that song is riddled with I vowels and the highest note is an I.
So glad this helped you! -NYVC
Very good job Justin! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! 💙 -NYVC
I agree, it should always be about, how can I best and uniquely express this musical STORY to have it BE interesting and listened to by others.....
An amazing tip top dedicating the singing as a beginner tot a person who inspired OR reminder you to sing.
I love all of your videos

Ya The letter " I " Thanks Justin
Thank you so much 🙏🏽.
Love the last part of the deadly I!!!!...
Narrow mouth and the narrow line between BIG EGO and low self esteem - now there´s something to ponder about:-) Thanks!
Hey justin, wondering if you could do a video on "r" especially with the r at the end like "her", "hear", "hair", "rare"?
That worked. Done and done.
it would be interesting why the thumps down gave them; we may learn something.....anyways, I am getting much help from Jason and his team...thank you..
Thank you !!! I'm finding the word "blind" in 'On My Own' from Les Mis so much easier now

🎶 -NYVC
This is EXACTLY my problem lol. I know I have the range but certain vowels can kill it!
Yeah!! -NYVC
Great video. But what about tongue placement for the I vowel?
Yes! We look forward to doing this one! -NYVC
A lot of things you teach are similar to SLS. Did you study with them?
I had to figure this out on my own before i found this video because my "i"s were sounding kind of rough. I find it's easier to think of approach of an "i" more like "ai" like in Thailand with a little bit of an "a" as in apple sounds at the start.
Great thoughts Crow!!! -NYVC
Best advice ever! Ty, ty
Woo! Glad to hear it Kathleen! - NYVC
Thank you💖
Thank YOU Aldi! :) -NYVC
Hwooaa im so glad you reply✨
I usually pronounce my "I" quite close to an "ah" vowel, but that maybe due to my accent as I'm Australian, as well as my speed because I talk quite quickly, lots of people have trouble understanding me due to how fast I speak. If I exaggerate vowel sounds when speaking then my "I" then I'll start on "ah" and quickly move to an "ee".
