Its actually based on genuine ancient Egyptian jewellery. They wore gold finger and toe guards that looked like the tips of their fingers and toes much like Ra did in the movie. They also used paint too to cover all 10 fingers and toes. They are rather beautiful looking things although the solid gold sandals look uncomfortable lol
I always wondered were Prince got his costume ideas. :)
I wish Vala or Dr Carter had used a hand device casually in missions, even if it were weaker than usual.
I don't think former hosts' difficulty in using the device was due to limited amounts of naqada. I think it is because they don't really know how to use the device.
Kendra had no trouble using the ribbon device or the healing device, but she also had a LOT of experience using them and also retained consciousness as the host for her Goa'uld so would remember the Goa'uld using said devices.
That makes sense. The limitations of, say, Samantha Carter post-host, may have been that her brain was taught to do it/the symbiote used her brain to do it, leaving behind a sort-of barely-understood muscle-memory. Wrong word, neuro-memory?

The Stargate Guy I was calling shenanigans because if Colonel O'Neill could throw a knife though. Those replicators should walk through. It was however good visual. I like spotting oddities and discussing them with family.
stargatefever maybe reps have an energy field the shield is designed to repel. Two shields repelling each other?

There's a human version. Called Tap (on sale on Amazon atm). It's a keyboard/mouse but looks suspiciously like the Hand Goa'uld Device
The other day I came up with ideas for the goa'uld using hand devices and the naquadah in the blood function, it would basically require a reboot of the series to work but it'd be interesting I think
Basically goa'uld host bodies with naquadah in their system have the ability to store electrical charges in their naquadah, they can use this without a hand device to release a charge that can stun or kill if need be or even release short range electrical bursts, (basically they can toss lightning around in an emergency.
The hand devices get way more complicated and become more multi-toolish, there is only ever one hand device they don't have a specialized healing one, the healing function is baked in with the rest of them, they can do most of the other things we see a hand device do, accept they can also release a blast like that of a staff weapon or zat blast, though both of these functions require said weapon to be shooting at them, basically its a catch a staff blast and throw it back, and the naquadah supply renders zats useless against them, it just charges their weapons.
I also invisioned a goa'uld using the vo'cume projector in conjunction with a ha'taks weapons to create a giant version calling out words of doom, and raining fire from the sky, just for style points
Really I'm starting to think the budget and tech of the time may have made the Goa'uld less badass than they could have been
Interesting, first of all, I love the stash. And now for the main subjects.
That little bump you mention, isn't that what activate the shield, I feel like that Heru'ur seem to place his hand on that bump when he activate his shield, so does many other Goa'uld.
Here what I think the power come from, it would make sense that the crystal is the source of the power or at the very least a regulator or capacitor for the Kara Kesh. In the episode Secret (S2E09) when Jack throw his knife at Heru'ur and pierce his Kara Kesh crystal, you clearly see energy discharging. So it would make sense that the crystal play an integral role in the power of the device. The Naquadah in the blood of the goa'uld is the way that they control every function of the Kara Kesh, since they 'ooze' Naquadah it's almost innate and like many Goau'uld Device the Kara Kesh need to the naquadah to identify the user to work, but for former host they need to tap every bit to get the marker to work with Goa'uld device.
Now here something that is worth researching. Crystal, what kind of crystal are they, every race use crystal for power source and Data storage, the ancient used them (They all over the DHD), Goa'uld use them (Ship, Kara Kesh, Healing device) Asgard use them in Ship, and even Tau'ri use them now in their ship. And if you think about it ZPM do look like crystal too. Do they grow them, cultivate them or manufacture them?

So I think that the crystal is more of a regulatory device than anything. So in the scene you mentioned it does discharge a little big of energy and not a whole lot. That is what made me think that it is not the power device it's self because it would be plausible for the device to discharge a whole bunch of energy and not just flicker, static and die.
As far as the crystal thing. I think those are really good questions, so I'm totally going to write that down for a future episode of how it works.
@@TheStargateGuy I think the crystals are definitely power, if you look at the ancient personal shield that's a green crystal and they don't have Naquadah in their blood, the DHD used a large red crystal as its power source and Vala repeatedly used the healing device on a whole village, more than once, so I doubt its powered by the small amount in her blood. There's also the ring weapon that gets used by the Zotark (sp?) SG team member and the Lucian Alliance bounty hunter, of which atleast 1 doesn't have Naquadah in their blood either.
Great video!!! This is my 5th one in a row!! I always believed that in our reality that 1 Goa'uld symbiote was individually in fact our subconscious, and a certain part of it called the "id" recognised by Sigmund Freud, always battling for its wants and needs and desires in a negative way, the id is also the part which is designed to kill you, self defence or conquest due to its drug of want, desire and need. Greed.

I always thought of it like a cross between a Goa'uld cell phone and pepper spray, with a few extra features thrown in.
My theory why the replicators are able to stand on the force field is that the parts they are build of are held together by energy, so there technically should always be a steady electric flow through the pieces, repelling the energy of the field
This is supported by the “Anti-Replicaotor” device from later on in the series, as it seems to be firing electricity or magnetic waves to “Disconect” the pieces. Repli Carter could have adjusted the frequency of her body to be able to stand against it.

I would definitely love to have the ring transport device. Not only would it save time on my commute but it would save me so much on gas money.

You would need some way to power the transport device, it would probably be expensive on electricity if the transport device did not have an internal durable power source!

I have a pretty lucky go life watching stargate, I don’t know if it’s made me stupid.
For like 16 years it’s like my life was rewritten with no thoughts, and mental torture, until I realized I was sitting down on the couch with my uncle, then all my memories came back, my head was forced back not like the hand device, but damn I would thought my first psychotic break was brain washing on fire. And everything I ever said was a lie that I would never say.

Since the goa’uld don’t invent tech are the hand devices Ancient tech? Did the Ancients have naq in their blood or were they naturally able to use it without naq?
It looks to be a primitive version of the Asgard hand device. But those crystals were embedded into the hand itself. Pretty much same abilities and specifications. Just without that ugly brace.
IMO, the gua' ould created all their newer weapon's and were able to because humanities penchant or innate latent mental abilities.
More over, humanities physical make up can easily store and produce massive amounts of energy.
With that said. wouldn't it be more likely that humans posses the energy internally powerful enough to activate the hand device, the staff, and whatever else the
gua'ould builds.
While they were using a different species the gua'ould builds everything around those physical beings.
It was even stated that the gua'ould happened across humans and preferred our physical and mental abilities and untapped potential in humanity.
There's enough science to back this up. As a species, we humans use only about 10% of our brains, and the people who've volunteered for medical testing who use much more of theirs are capable of amazing, almost otherworldly feats.

Could the hand device alsp explain how Apophis was able to dedial earth’s gate back to Chulak without our dialing computers or dhd? I theorize it supplied the gate address and residual energy stored in the gate capacitors allowed redialing.
I think he have portable DHD.
You can always rotate the ring manually but the problem will be the lack of a power source.

@@TheStargateGuy it s just that when i saw Apohhis using it after being ambushed on the Nox home world i was so pissed off . Apohhis has that golden armor thing which proves a decent protective armor even from a Jaffa staff blast . It was hard for the humans to kill one Jaffa ( after that it was very easy to do so like the armor has lost it s effectiveness in protecting them from bullets ) But that personal shield is like typing God mode for the boss in a game . However the Goauld did not anticipate that small dart needles can penetrate the shield

This is literaly the dumbest idea ever, there is absolutely no way a human/Goa'uld would produce enough energy to throw a person(multiple people even), such a great distance, it would be more likely having a tiny energy source on the device and maybe use that to store the energy for the blast.

The video suggests the battery is storing energy gradually built up by the Goa'uld and they have naquadah in their blood. Naquadah. I don't see why "a tiny energy source" would be any better than gradually storing built up energy. I think the energy would not just be that of a normal human.
