I would not say that iPhone cameras are bad at all. But I would argue that there are better smartphone cameras. Such as his favorite, the pixel 2. iPhone is not doing a bad job at all. It just seems that way since a lot of people don't buy apple for it's specs or camera. They mostly buy it due to the rising popularity in apple, or the "apple ecosystem".

I am an iPhone user, have an iPhone 8+ and an Ipad 2. This review IS biased, he focuses way too much on the colors and slight increments on the phone, but it is not an essential upgrade. The unreasonable lack of dongles, which they included in my iphone 8 and now they are not in there. I mean what the hell? Why do people still defend a company that gives no crap about their consumers?!
About to switch from Note 8 back to iPhone. All the bells and whistles have been great for 2 years but I miss the simplicity of apple.

Same here i am also using my Lovely Note 8 and i would love to switch to ios. iOS has smooth UI, 60fps gaming, and less mah battery but gives more than a note 9 battery, all day usable battery life, And iphone is great in terms of Optimizing their device and battery life too.
I just switch from a Note 9 to XS Max; haven't had an iPhone since the 6s plus. So far I like that it just works and everything is so smooth.

I use iphone se 2016 and it does everything i need. A phone is a tool, and the small improvements in newer models rarely give a significant value to owner’s life.

Just upgraded from 6s to Xs. Camera quality is 🔥. Still getting used to it as i have a habit of clicking home button for no reason and kinda missing that in XS lol.

Seriously guys, we need to stop the trend of 1000$ phones. Not just iphone, but any phone. The more we take it for granted the more closer we get to 1500$ trend, which is exactly what we as the consumers do not want.
Edit: Well it is more than a year later and $2000 flagships are already here. Also some people in the comments have overlooked the meaning of my comment that I am not hating on apple, I own an iphone myself and will continue to buy iphone flagship for years to come. Iphone 11 pro max 256gb already costs $1800 here in Canada. I know prices for latest tech will never stay the same and will only continue to rise and that is just how its going to be. Lets see what the future brings and what future smartphones will hold.

Apple is shooting for the "luxury" demographic, people who can afford that money. They don't want every crackhead carrying their phones. They want that cachet, that status symbol. It's why Apple changes *something* about the outside of the phone every year, so you can see who has the newest phone.

I have this phone since october 2018 and it still works like a charm. The only thing is the battery that has degraded a bit, but still do-able.
September 2023: still going strong with this phone. Yes the battery is still a thing, but it never fails.

Mkbhd, I didn't even watch the video and the comments are telling me the story already. It's not the price that is the maddening factor, most of the people can buy the phone. It's just that how apple brainwashes people to buy these phones with no significant features at all for a day to day user. I mean really??? Are those super tiny features worth even upgrading even if this phone sells at same price as previous ones? Also this iPhone launch has exposed many UA-camrs as apple fan boys, who straight up ignore iPhones obvious flaws : no new features and ridiculous price.

@Stereo Typist That's great. My siblings iPhone 6' all run noticeably faster which I think is impressive considering how old they are.
They didn't really remove any throttling, throttling is a reality for just about every battery-powered device unless you like yours hot and crisp. They just made the OS itself more efficient so it needs less computational power overall and the throttling isn't really visible. That's really the only way to go nowadays, Moore's law is stopping and batteries aren't getting any better, so improving software is all we have left.
The_Blazer you are 100% correct but as marques told in past aluminium batteries might be real but shouldn’t expect anytime soon which is a big deal

Actually that happens not that often if you compare it to regular gasoline cars, you Literaly have a tank with highly flamable juice under your ass, and the batterys are under hardened steel soo... At least it gives me a better feel then a tank of gasoline

I’ve been watching you for about four years now, so I trust your review above the others. I bought the XS because I had the note 8 and got tired of the big phone after a year, I’ve had mine for three weeks and I don’t really have any complaints other than the notch, which only gets annoying when you play certain games full screen, other than that it fits in my hand like I wanted and does everything my Android did and more with less, so my hats off to you sir, I had to switch operating systems after many years as an Android user.

i mean the thing is sure you could go swim at a lake or something with your phone, but it doesn't float. Sure its waterproof but when you lose it in the lake its gone anyway XD. But sure its waterproof but its only really water proof in fresh water.
Marques didnt explain IP rating properly .. IP 67 is meant to be splash proof or quick dunk in the water without any damage while IP 68 which is what this phone is rated means it is waterproof up to 1.5 m under water for 30 mins which should be fine if u want to take ur phone to the pool without worries .

My friend who had an older iphone 7 which is only rated IP 67 and he immersed in flowing water near a lake and froze his phone ..lucky for him he still had warranty for accidental damage..
Not waterproof. Water resistant. Different things. Look it up. advi sesh
