EASY DIY Chicken Coop | Pallet Project

- This week I am starting to prep for getting chickens. We are planning on getting at least 15 chickens. I didn't want to have a high budget for a chicken coop build so I decided to build the structure out of pallets. Besides the tin roof, screws, and hinges the goal was accomplished. The total cost of this coop was $45.

You did a great job of keeping the cost low, some of these coops are so expensive to build just at the cost of materials. The idea should always be practical and effective. Simple and functional is the wise decision. The money goes into the birds & feed, make or repurpose everything you can. I salvage or use old stuff all the time. The eggs taste the same in a cheap coop or a 800 $ coop.
Thank you for the video. My hens are waiting for their home and this seems to be one of the better o es I've watched! Nice doors.
I love the clean out doors! They're awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Great video and design. I'm getting a lot of my ideas from your build.
Really great, straightforward build! I appreciate you sharing your process; I will definitely be taking some of these design pointers when fabricating my own. Upcycled projects like this are my favorite to see!!
Im building my first chicken coop with pallet wood and your video is super helpful for what to do
It came out nice, can’t beat free wood
Thank you very much
Got some chicks now it's time to build the coop. Thanks for ideas. How's your chickens after 2 years?
Nice project. Next time it might be more interesting if you spend less time talking about what you were going to do and just do it and comment over the top.
What did you use for the legs?
How many chickens will it house?
10 with room to spare
Isn’t it only 5’ x 2.5’? That’s not even half of the square footage per chicken needed. Be careful not to overcrowd it, 5 hens will be full in that coop!
I do like the simplicity of it. When we add to our flock, I might just have to copy this for a second coop :)
