Good question. The gel seems to hold pretty well. Some UV resin over the eyes would help but that's not in the original recipe for this fly. If one comes off after a few fish I just keep fishing it. The fish don't seem to mind and if the fly is still in good condition when I get back to the house I might glue on a new eye or eyes.
What color marker did you use for the top coloring?
Do the eyes stay attached, or do they tend to fall off easy?
