Good reaction ... but every time you turned the volume down I had to turn it up.🤘 The first time they played 'Road of Resistance' was in London in December 2014. It was a brand new song, nobody had heard it, nobody even knew it existed ... but the girls commanded a wall of death and, just as they did in this video, the whole crowd picked up the tune and sang along. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way (ie the path of least resistance) or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy road to follow. Sounds like DragonForce you say? Not a coincidence - Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London in 2015.

Nice reaction and a good start for learning more about BABYMETAL! The ladies, their backing band and the whole team behind them are doing incredibly great work! Put the magnificient crowds into the equation and you will fully get what BABYMETAL is all about! Can you imagine that they did exactly THIS song 9 years before (2015), with it being just as epic (if not more epic!) as the performance you watched here? Su-Metal is one of the best vocalists out there currently, and she is for many years now. She´s getting better and better. The dancers, Moametal (double pony tails, dimples and in constant fight with the flag!) and Momometal (smiles nearly the whole time of the performance, she is the tallest of the three) are incredibly good doing their craft, too! They are very good singers themselves, but you´ll hear them doing just harmonies with Su-Metal most of the time. If you like to try some of their earlier work, you could do "Headbangerrrrr!!!!" from the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" (2013) concert. BABYMETAL is best served live, btw. 😉
