I came, I saw, I copied. Works perfectly, thanks very much.
Yeah really never thought about the tubs overflowing
Simple and effective 👌 ✨
Just wanted to say Thank you you saved my fish !We just put our indoor mini pond outside it's been established for over a year now, and as soon as we put it outside we've had rain now for 3 days .I thought there goes the poor fish right out of the pond until I found your video and it worked great !Thank you again!!!
So glad it helped. I will be doing to new videos in the future of a new pond build and indoor fish tank set up so stay tuned.
I have a little whisky barrel one and had to run out in pouring rain last night, to put a golf umbrella over it, the water level was almost half an inch from the top, maybe less 😳
Thank you!!!!! I don’t want to cut my liner. This is perfect!!!
Just brilliant. I was wrecking my brain how do do this.
This is perfect. I have a 40 gallon stock tank I just put together and we had torrential downpour all yesterday and the pond completely filled up. No plants or fish are in yet which is great cus I got easy clean water lol and didn’t have to fill it myself. But it’s soooo close to the top I need to figure out how to make a runoff and didn’t think drilling was a good idea
Thank you so much this helped me out it was the most simplest one I found 2 build 🙏🏻
Glad it helped!
Did this today with an inch diameter pipe and wow it works great. thanks for the vid you are a life saver. I thought I was going to have to rebuild my pond.
So glad this video helped.
Wow. Very intelligent!👍
Needed this
So simple ❤️❤️🤣
Hi, great simplest overflow pipe 👍🏽can I put a sponge at the inlet where water will suck out as my pond are full of fly which I afraid it would suck the little guy out 😅 can you help a experiment just stuck a cotton filter at the outlet point and check can it still function as it should be🙏🏼appreciate, I think a lot if hobbyist worried about it too🤗
I have a feeling a sponge will get clogged up. I use this same overflow design as a return from my display tank to my sump for my salt water aquarium. I used slits in the pipe to allow water to drain out but keep fish from getting sucked in. You can also drill a bunch of small hole or use screen.
I'll try to do a video of different top options.
@@T_Rou_Fish_Videos pretty much appreciate, waiting for you next video on this issue, thanks, stay safe 🙏🏼
@@ChowBrian took a while but i did a little video showing a couple of options for the top of the pipe to help keeping your fish safe. ua-cam.com/video/cNjAn89MaXs/v-deo.html
You can tie a small piece of fine net to cover the inlet opening so it stops the fish or tiny stuff to get in and clog it :)
Once the water reaches the desired level. Will this automatically start back up if it rains heavy the water level rises? Or does it need to be primed every time?
This will start automatically.
I have a question 🙋♂️
How many sunny and dry days does it take for the siphon to break via evaporation?
I have never had it break. I guess it depends on how the vertical pipe is on the open ends. The longer the better because there is more water that has to evaporate before the siphon breaks.
🔥🔥🔥
I have the same set up, tank, filter, etc… my question is how do you keep the water from turning green?
Tons of plants. I put water hyacinth in early spring within a couple of weeks it spreads and clears the water up for the entire summer.

Plants plants plants!
I built one today and works fine but with a couple of days of no rain or water level changing, the water pipe in the pond fills up and won’t siphon again, I have to get the air out and then it will work again.
How do we fix this, I have to always be aware of this pipe to make sure it’s on
A few questions... 1) How long is the vertical pipe on both ends? If you get a few days of hot weather the water level can drop an inch or 2 which could allow the siphon to break. I have actually added water to my pipe when i noticed it was getting low. 2)Are there any leaks which will allow the siphon to break? If so you may need to glue the joints. 3) Did you get all the air out to start the siphon? Sounds like you did all the right things but i was surprised how many times i had to rotate the thing under water to get all the air out. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
Seems to work better now, things were glued but the top wasn’t really glued properly, I also added a t fitting to divert the water away and added a longer piece on it too
@@rigidstonerottweiler glad it has improved. Hopefully it continues to work well.
Would it work if you connect that to a water tank to collect the water
as long as the tank sits under the level of the outlet pipe yes it will.
Will it work if I attach a hose so that the water flow to an area I want instead of flowing around outside of the pond?
If you put the hose over the end of the pipe it will NOT work. It will work if you put a tee on the end with one opening sticking up and one opening horizontal with the hose on it. This way it doesn't allow the hose to siphon the pipe dry.
Thank you for your advice!
Sir can I get the pipe cutting size
Length of each pipe?
