Dubai society is not good naturally, they are not much different to the rest of the world. They just apply these rules and they work., I am telling you these rules work, my sister. Everyone is safe and no hands will be cut off just because of this verse. Because the theif knows this Ayah will applay and the law will get him, he does not want to risk it. And any theft below some limit, the law does not apply. For example, if you streal a pizza, your hand will not be cut off. So pleasae think deep and let go of your modernstic prejucdices. Love you guys, keep doing the good work.
Interesting. Are you sure it cannot be interpreted broader than just pre-Islamic? What about those who have not yet had access to Islamic teachings in this world?
And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments1 except what normally appears.2 Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their ˹hidden˺ adornments
Exactly, the command is to wear a Jalabbiyya and cover their pockets (Juyubihunna). We do not believe that meanse cover their heads. You and I are reading the same verse but coming to two different conclusions it seems.
@@PreachARaba “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Ahzab 33:59]
I love you guys, but you dont understand the reality in the world. This ayah refers to the High way robbery and theft on large scale, if you really know the harm and the loss of life these people cause, you would re-consider applying the princinples in the verse. And the verse uses degrees of cruelty against them, some of which are ok to you like exiling them from the land. And the killing is justified if they have killed people. Normally someone who has killed a person in islam, there are three options: death, diyah(money) or forgiveness which depends on the family of the victim, but in this context of high way robery, it is mischeif in the land which is more harmful and could be extreme and it is a rebellion again the governent which is why the verse was including the prophet in the Ayah because he was the leader at the time. In conclusion, I whole heartedly believe the Ayah and what is says. The punishment does not apply to good-hearted people like you and us, but it is there to protect us and that is the point most people miss. The bigger question you guys need to ask is: Are we saying that the modern law that we have now is the perfect one and anything the contradicts it is not acceptable and we should try to interpret the Ayah somehow to fit our normitivie ethics? Love you guys, keep doing the good work.
Thank you so much for your comment. Very good perspective. I personally agree that there is wisdom and guidance to be gained from these verses and that the punishment, no matter how severe, is designed to protect us. We appreciate your comment!

The translation for "Hukm Jahili" is quite off. it means the pre-"islamic" arab customs, Jahiliya is related is only about Arab pre-"islamic" customs.

Is hijab mandatory?

Thank you for your comment. From our perspective there is no evidence to suggest it is mandatory no.
