- The levitating light bulb got a lot of attention on my 2021 desk setup tour, so I thought it was time I showed it some light… this is it, the floating lamp from Flyte.
I’m thinking of creating a new series, a “What’s on my Desk” type series, where I upload videos of items and accessories on my desk, or new tech I buy for my desk setup. Let me know what you think. #onmydesk #levitatinglight #desksetup
I went for the copper and walnut LED Eddison version, which I think looks great. So here’s my quick unboxing, review, setup and impressions of this after a few months of use. It’s a magnetic bulb with touch buttons and is mains operated.

I do like these type of videos, even if I don't buy them now or never at least I am informed about different type of tech and when I do decide to make my setup or anything in the house I will have more ideas about what else can be added or will look better. Also.....

“Floating Bulb”
Your set up is something I aspire too. Not each item per se, but the minimal flow and overall esthetic, it is quite pleasing.
As for the bulb, I appreciate that you did this video as I was very curious about it during other videos and this gave me a better understanding of it as a product/piece of art.
I had guessed $400, so $300 is not so bad (if your reasoning includes an open mind and a Venn diagram :-).)

I bought one for $799 for their clock and it stopped working properly less than a year later. The floating ball kept sticking to the surface of the clock. It seemed like every other month or whenever we had a thunderstorm or something like that the ball would fall and stick to the surface. Then one day the ball just stuck to the surface, and I could never get it to float again. The clock kept time correctly a little longer than that but soon the clock wasn’t working properly. It ran a few minutes slow, even though it was connected to my cell phone. I emailed story and they told me the maglev needs to be replaced but because the warranty had expired, I had to pay an extra $150 plus shipping cost to get it fixed. This thing is a piece of crap. Caveat emptor!!!
