Mail is misdelivered ALL the time. I'm loath to ship or order anything expensive in current times. Priority and insured means nothing to the USPS.
I’ve bought very cheap lightly used leather purses, like Kate Spade, from Poshmark no issues. If I wanted something like Chanel I don’t think I would risk that on Poshmark, or anything over $300. I’d go to an authenticated boutique or maybe the real real.
She didn’t even need to go to the house. At that point if the post office shows a different address that’s all she needs to get her money back. The seller didn’t send to the correct address

this is the reason i love shopping on Mercari Japan. their system is keeping the money until the customer confirms they have received the product and deemed it satisfactory. customer can return the package (for free if the seller doesnt aggree to pay the return fees) and then get the money back on their account
Anything sold over$500 goes to Posh first for authentication and then Posh sends it to the buyer. So, that scam can't work since it goes directly from their headquarters.
I was about to comment this... what vintage chanel sells for under $500
i agree. i just sold my 2 gucci purses in Poshmark. 1 purse went first to headquarters for authentication. once the authentication is completed poshmark will send the item to the buyer and will only release the payment to the seller within 4-7 business days after delivery/receipt of the item
They don’t have the best authentication team… neither does tradesy, the real real, eBay, etc. I’ve known several people that re-sold their fakes on there and the items passed authentication without a problem. Granted the items were excellent fakes but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they were able to pass “authentication”

I got scammed with a fake key pouch on Poshmark. This lady claim it was “authentic” but it wasn’t. That was the main thing she sold on her posh account & im like sis LV ain’t block you yet.
The good thing about Poshmark is that if you buy or sell something for over $500.00 the item will be shipped to Poshmark office first. But unfortunately if the amount is less than scams like this could happened.
I had something like this happen to me on Posh for a somewhat low value item. However, they must’ve chosen/created a non existent address because tracking showed it was “unable to be delivered - returned to sender.” So it worked out in my favor but I couldn’t figure out the scam for the longest time, so thanks for exposing this!!
For anything that should be high value, if it’s less than $500, I question it. If over, it will get sent to Posh HQ first and from there, to the buyer so the seller never sees the buyer’s address. They shouldn’t show address details for either party imo - maybe a QR code or some other scannable barcode.
There’s also a lot of listing/image theft of Posh. I’ve had a lot of fake sellers take my photos and make their own listings, which are of course, bs. I report them but the don’t always get pulled off the site :/
Interesting video. I'm a bit confused about the storyline from the buyer though. I sell on Poshmark and the buyer doesn't pay until the item arrives...they have 3 days to review. So, if she never received it, she can dispute it or decline to accept. Also, any designer/luxury item valued over $500 is sent to Poshmark first for authentication then it's sent from Poshmark to the buyer. I sold one of my Gucci bags which went through this process.
I have, on occasion, refused to sell to some buyers that have asked the ridiculous like making payments, etc. As a seller I never use stock photos. I post the real product. I also photograph the packing process and the label which is generated from Poshmark , on a short vid and keep it. Beware of stock photos.
I almost purchased a La Mer Serum on eBay. I later found out through research the product was over 5 yts.old. The shelf life was only 36 months (3 yrs.). Be very careful when purchasing cosmetics. Make sure they are sealed in the box. Scammers can easily place an expired product into a new box and sell it as "NEW, but opened box". I notified the seller. I gave him/her the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know the product he/she was selling was expired. I checked a week later, and he/she still had it up for sale for $180. These scammers will scam you of your money anyway they can.
But Dacob, that doesnt make sense, because Chanel bag definitely cost more that 500. And Poshmark ( i sold and bought on it ) authenticates, over 500$ , so basically seller has to mail to Poshmark and then Poshmark, mails to the buyer. And also if the package gets lost , Poshmark always took responsibility. Maybe they changed their policies 🤔 and how can it be photoshopped if Poshmark creates electronic tracking number, which is attached to the address that the label was created . Unless the person, didnt use Poshmark label. But still i dont understand . Well Poshmark is different from other sites. Usually members do communicate more, and even if they know that this person is a scammer , they will let you know. You can check how long its been on the site. All communications are visible to everyone. And this scam is dangerous, cause i would not run looking for my package, i would call postmaster general and report that as a federal crime! With FedEx and UPS as long as you set up an account on the apps any package addressed to your address will show
This story sounds fishy actually. Poshmark automatically sends the seller a pre-paid label. So whatever address the buyer put on their profile is the one used to autogenerate the label. I don’t think anyone writes or prints address on their own. In regards to fake photos, that does happen, so I try to be careful by checking on seller history.
Anything $500 and up, it gets sent to the poshmark hq for authentication. I had an experience where the HQ contacted me because the bag’s measurements was off from the listing, but it’s an authentic bag, and asked if I wanted to proceed or cancel.
That happened to me on 2019 same situation go through Poshmark. Luckily google pay didn’t release my money to the scammers

Yeah, this sounds… incorrect. Poshmark sellers 1. use preprinted labels for sending packages, and 2. don’t get paid until the buyer “accepts” their item.

@@SuperDacob No, it’s the same no matter the amount of the sale. The only thing that changes if it’s $500+ is, Poshmark authenticates first. If you sell a $60 item, you still get a pre-printed shipping label mailed to you to put on the package.And you still can’t get paid until the buyer accepts the package (or 3 days goes by after “reciept”). I’ve been buying and selling on PM for a few years.
Another way to help is the weight of package when accepted by post office

Exactly! The seller has to ship the item to poshmark first… so not sure how it could happen on a Chanel bag purchase. Poshmark then ships to the buyer.

Ok if i see something valuable ,from Chanel ,just little below 500, to me its right away a red flag. Because if i sell something authentic, i am listing at least 500, knowing that it goes to Poshmark and that way i am protected. And 9/10 probably its a new account , without any history, followers , feedbacks… We all want a great deal, and through the years, i did got some unbelievable deals, on Poshmark and Ebay, but the sellers i purchased had some selling history, etc… One must be more careful.🙏
It also messes with the honest good legit sellers who do everything right but we too get scammed and being nice to PM doesnt work. What works is being insistant and having proof. Make a scammer list video. We can all pitch in the scams all across platforms. Downfall is it it gives scammers idea.

@@SuperDacob I caught it before it was delivered and I took snapshots and I searched up the picture of the The Purse I came up another website And I flagged The person Site but it was multiple emails
They tried to take the money out of my account but I stopped it
