- Dominick Cruz is a 3 x UFC Bantamweight Champion, fight analyst, and UFC commentator. Ed and Dom have known each other for years and met during their early MMA days. Ed's insight into Dominick's personality provide great perspective into what makes the mind of a champion.
Dominick's story is unlike any other you have ever heard. Humble beginnings paved the way to a glorious rise in the combat sports world. Before MMA was even legal in the US, Dominick was fighting on Indian reservations in "human cockfighting" bouts. Beginning his professional MMA career in 2005 he would compete in fighting leagues such as Rage in the Cage, Total Combat, & WEC before becoming an official fighter for the UFC in 2010.
Dominick took home the WEC Bantamweight title beating Brian Bowles in 2010 and became the inaugural UFC Bantamweight Champion later that year when the WEC merged with UFC, the following year Dominick defeated Urijah Faber to claim his second UFC Bantamweight title. However not everyone can stay on top forever, in 2012 Dominick tore his ACL and in the following years would tear his groin, quadricep, and experience other injuries that would leave him out of the cage for years.
In 2016 he would pull-off what Ed Clay considers the greatest comeback in UFC history, beating T.J. Dillashaw to reclaim his throne as the UFC Bantamweight Champion!
Dominick's story is one of extreme adversity, glorious victory, and the greatest comeback story you will ever hear!

Dominick is a pleasure to listen to
It was such a nice moment when he calls Mom to tell her about the nice dinner, what a real man.
This is an incredible conversation, Dominick is a LEGEND!!!
I searched “Dominik Cruz” and this was the second thing to pop up, can’t believe I barely found this
Incredibly moving seeing Dom get emotional like that, for years I’ve known him to be completely stoic and unrelenting. What a beautiful moment. Always gonna be my bantamweight GOAT.
This interview is so underrated anybody going through something take this interview.
This is a hidden gem!
Dom's story of his 1st broken nose just real! Post-party depression. HAHA 😂 can't wait to hear the rest!
Dominick is great! Love him!
Tucson built San Diego made. He went to the same elementary school and jr high as me. Been a fan since 2010 WEC days. I watched him TKO Brian bowls for the title after he murdered Miguel Torres who was a killer back then. DOM is goated. Shout out from Tucson bro
Just imagine if we had Torres vs Cruz back in the day...
Greatest comeback in SPORTS, not just the UFC. In my opinion.
Ed are you in Nashville again?
Hell yeah my favorite fighter
This is an excellent channel. Moreover, this was an extraordinary podcast with Dominick. He has profound depth as a person. His Championship(s) make much more sense now.
50:25... His story around Vegas is extremely moving.
Agreed! This conversation with Dominick was eye-opening, an incredible amount of humility from such a strong person.
Amazing interview and amazing champ! Deep and insightful how Dom shares parts of his life. Really relatable and helpful emotionally, fantastic job!

Great interview, this video should have more views.
Dominick is an amazing fighter and has such a unique style. Love his commentary and fight interviews, but hearing him tell his history in depth is awesome. He's so grounded and I feel like he's never forgotten where he came from which is so important to remember if you're going to be a good person in life. Great channel Ed.
Great interview! I'm such a fan of Cruz and gettting to hear this many stories from him was so interesting. He's what got me into watching MMA!

Underrated episode
I always thought Dominick was an uppity dick. What an amazing interview and story of triumph over amazing setbacks. A true legend in the sport. And Dominick, you now have nothing but the utmost respect from me for the amazing man and inspiration that you are. Thanks for many years of watching you perform and all that you've given to the sport and its fans. Best wishes in all that you do. You are also a kick-ass commentator.
Such a great/beautiful interview. I've never heard Dom at a deep personal level like this interview, not with Rogan, not with helwani. This was IT.
My favorite fighter!
Awesome conversation! Loved hearing Dom’s story from rags to riches!
Awesome pod! No White or Wong in what’s said
Dom will be always be one of my favorites and one of the best ever in my mind and intelligent and sharp as a man can be... BUT what is this "cult" choice center thing? I hope you pay him well and it seems like he is your Tom cruise:D he has the gift really
