Perfect little stove for like a small shop or a garage! You can weld a flat steel plate on top for a coffee pot too. My father in law used to make wood stoves out of the 55 gallon oil drums.

Wrap the tank with copper tubing 3/8 I'd . Now you have a water heater in conjunction with the furnace. Place a small storage tank in line with the tubing and a pump to circulate the water around the heat tank. Prevent overheating of the firebox.

I installed hundreds of them and people cannot believe the heat they put out it truly could save you a lot of heated and oil but must be installed correctly

I have a bigger one that a friend made for me when I was homeless. You need a great to go in the bottom and the problem with small wood stoves is that you have to constantly add more wood. You will wake up cold multiple times a night and because it's small, you have to empty it at least once a day. Also if you are using pallet wood, it burns quickly and you will have to basically sit by it all day feeding it. My stove is bigger than this one and I still had all kinds of problems with it. So make the biggest you can and get some good hard wood for it.

I made a gravity fed pellet stove instead of a wood fired stove. My biggest issue with this build is that's it's not made to utilize say, conventional 14" split wood. Also to add that splitting small/short wood would require too much process time feeding the fire. On the other hand my pellet stove requires minimal assistance like 3-5 times per 24 hrs. That said, I'm sure that you have opened a lot of eyes on this project. But Pellet Rocket Stoves rule.

I just built an ammo can stove (30mm) and it fits 14" split wood nicely, burns for about 2-3 hours but going to add a pellet chamber. Thought about a small gasifier can inside but thats just cool in the sense of more fire not longer fire haha

I built something like this out of an old 5 gallon air compressor I bought at a garage sale for 3 Dollars because it didn't work when I started building my Tiny house. My house is 16X24, a 1 1/2 car garage, that 384 sq feet and my homemade wood stove more than heats my house plus when I built it I out a piece of 2" plate steel where the compressor sat so I could cook on if I had to. It will hold a regular size 14" log and I can pack it full and it burns almost all night long, last year when we got that that Artic Blast of -35 degree wind chill my house never got under 70 degrees, My parents, brother and nieces along my parents 2 dogs and nieces pet rabbit came and stayed with me during that week. It was cramped but we were warm and noone went hungry.

That sounds like an incredible project you've undertaken with the homemade wood stove! It's amazing how resourcefulness and creativity can help provide warmth and comfort, especially during extreme weather conditions. Have you considered sharing more details or perhaps some images of your setup on your own channel? Your experience could inspire others in their building endeavors. If you have any specific questions or if there's anything you'd like to discuss about your wood stove project, please feel free to let me know!
