Thank you so much ! . Can you please make videos for cie a level biology? It would be really helpful .
Hello,
A lot, in fact most, of the theory overlaps but I realise there are some differences.
I hope to make videos for different exam boards in 2021. If there is a particular topic you want I haven't covered which is on your specification then let me know.
@@MissEstruchBiology Thank you for replying back. Can please make videos on chapter 15- Coordination from CIE a level biology syllabus ? Hope you gonna make videos for CIE examboard next year it would be really helpful for me and others doing cie a level biology.
could you make some mindmaps/ documents of key words and phrases from mark schemes for each AS topic please
Hi Phoebe,
I have my new website launching soon with a range of free and pay for products, this is a great idea so I have added it to my 'ideas' list.
:)
i bought some of your question packs and they look really helpful but they have so many questions I don't know when i should do them around revision and general practice. Would you happen to have any advice? Also thanks so much for your help, I actually didn't realise there was a method to answering the questions
maybe start by completing two questions a week. this should take 30-60 mins. As you get closer to exams you could increase this to a few times a week and in exam conditions
thank you miss
You're welcome! Hope it helps with your exams 😊
@@MissEstruchBiology yes miss it has my exam is tomorrow :)
For the question that talks about gout and enzymes, how did you know whether or not an enzyme in the question is an competitive inhibitor or a non competitive inhibitor? If it's competitive, can I say that the enzyme has an allosteric site and when that enzyme binds to that one, the shape changes?
Competitive inhibitors are similar in shape to the substrate and therefore bind to the active site.
Allosteric site is where a non-competitive inhibitor binds.
@@MissEstruchBiology Thank you !
is the application question booklet still available on your website please ?
yes! in the assessment skills bundle
hi miss, I actually just have a couple questions about enzymes. I don't know why I havent thought of then before, but - when we describe enzyme action, we talk about the active not being perfectly complementary to the substrate before it binds? But then in other contexts we do talk about it being complementary/ the substrate or competitive being complementary to it? Then I noticed in MP 2 for that question it said 'igmore complementary'? for the comptetitive inhibitor?
Ah i believe I can help you. With that MP 2, they are not complimentary, u say they are similar shape to the substrate molecule. This is when you talk about competitive inhibitors. But in other situations, such as when pH, temp and non-competitive inhibitors, you mention that the substrate molecule is not complimentary to the enzymes active site
Hello Miss, thank you so much for this video. if possible in the future could you make more videos on application and add more examples. Thank you once again!
Hello,
Yes, I hope to do some more exam questions in 2021 😊
Hi, are the application questions still available for practice?
yes, they are in the skills assessment free bundle
I really appreciate your time you are taking to guide me but I am requesting you to write what you are saying in form of a lyrics
wow not sure I'd be capable of that! Lyrics is next level
how many AO's are there??
3, LO1 , 2 and 3
@@MissEstruchBiology thank you for your reply!! I am literally watching all your exam technique videos right now.
But what are the 1 and 3 for? I know AO2 is application..?
@@Lavin. AO1 is logical subject knowledge (for example: describe semi- conservative replication), AO3 is analysis and being able to make judgements and conclusions. i think practical skills asw
