  • Muhammad Ali receives a replacement medal for the one he lost from the 1960 Games of Rome from Juan Antonio Samaranch. Does anyone know what he says to Charles Barkely? Hosted by Bob Costas at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta during halftime of the US vs. Yugoslavia Bastketball game August 3rd, 1996.

RIP~* Muhammad Ali & thank you for what you did for this little Italian from Pittsburg Ca. I watched you since your comeback in 1970 ( I was 7)..I loved you ever since! The Greatest Ionic figure of modern history! We see Ali as a world class boxer. We can
study Ali and see he was one of the greatest psychologist,Poet and Entertainer. What an incredibly talented and intelligent man from a very young age. Trinidad and Tobago loved Ali and broadcast or televised his fights. Those were the days when a boxer was an artist in the ring, crafty (Art of deception) and skillful. Today boxers are fighters, most have not develop the footworks, hip and upper body movement, rhythm or timing to fully master the art. It has been years since I seen a great entertaining boxing match. We have missed Muhammad Ali for such a long time, as his voice was beautiful and a great strength to us all. We have lost many of our public figures the last few years. The world was made greater because of Ali, and forever grateful He stepped forward and lead us in that direction, for we had no inclination he was taking us on this magnificent journey.
    Thank You Champ! The G. O. A. T.

But watching the Yugoslavian players then come out and surround him with the same warm feelings of respect I think speaks to Ali's universal appeal. @Xzefreeman it did bring me to tears, crying now :'( there is something about the old ones, when they are touched they have a look on their faces that speaks volumes in silence

The most remarkable characteristic of Ali was he never complained, not once.
Even in this condition, imagine the mental steel.

I grew up as a boy listening to Ali's fights on a transistor radio in bed, past my bedtime, in the days before cable and pay per view. When we would have to wait weeks for the fight to be rebroadcast on television. I can't help but cry every time I see him at these kind of ceremonies. For to see the human who was the epitome of speed, grace, endurance, courage stripped of his physical prowess and verbal quickness is sobering reminder of the spiritual lessons he himself always preached.

The greatest and one of the great men of all time. Was willing to sacrifice everything to stand by his belief's.
How many march off to murder innocents around the world for a paycheck, because they're told to do it, because they have no integrity. And those are the ones that criticized this man. They couldn't sit in the same room with Mr Mohammed Ali, the greatest of all time boxer and one of the great role models to anyone of any color, any creed, anywhere.
