Flight of the Navigator brought me here. I didn't have MTV when I was a kid. Didn't have cable till 1996 or so. Had no idea this was a real thing back then!
*BEEN LOVING THIS SONG (AND MUSIC VIDEO) SINCE I FIRST SAW AND HEARD IT IN THE MOVIE, "FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR". LONG LIVE THE 80s!!!*
Me too!
Me too
EXACTLY!
same
Oh my god, me too. Flight of The Navigator is a classic.
Thank you Flight of the Navigator movie for introducing me to these guys.
I had the same reaction David did over it lol
Same!
Same here 😂
Compliance!
Wanna go back...love that so many people love flight of the navigator outside the the 80s/90s.
Oh 80's how I love you... soundtrack to my youth, thank you blancmange
We wish we still were living in that time.
The 1980s was magic, a whole lot of magic. Best decade ever.
@@TaliaIGhul most definitely was I miss it dearly
I LOVE 80s songs! High production values, great videos, unique sounds.
Shout out to everyone in the comments connected by one of the greatest 80s movies ever. The soundtrack alone unites us, but everyone quoting the movie is so wholesome 😭
Jeff: "Are you mad at me🤓🤡"
David: "No Jeff... I love you too❤️"

@@carmine320 I love that!🤣
Next stop. Twisted Sister.
Ever since i re-watched flight of the navigator, which i loved since i was a kid, i looked up what this video was and this became one of my favorite songs EVER MADE. seriously i cannot express how much i adore this song and video
Love love love this song!!! 😍😍😍
put this on my tombstone in CAPS
I love the 1980s a much better time for music more feeling than nowadays
Fun music video and great song. Love the comments quoting The Flight of The Navigator, they don't make movies like that anymore.
They dont make anything like they did in the 80s. Just the music, movies and fashion. People were finally being able to live their lives without being judged. Allowed to go out and have fun without a l ife sentence for the smallest crimes. Just more free.
Some of the most hilarious 10 minutes I spent when I had bought the 12 inch (in yellow vinyl) and brought it to a gathering at a friend's house: We were talking with the TV running without sound. The Mary Poppins movie. I wanted my mates to check out this fresh remix, so I started the turntable. It wasn't immediately, maybe a minute into the track, that we realized how all the actions of Mary & Co. walking, dancing, and flying with her umbrella ☔ were totally in sync with all the ups and downs and flips and breaks of LYL. Unstoppable laughter!
I still love doing that! 😂 Syncing music with TV results in so much laughter!
I only know of this song because it was in Flight of the Navigator. Such a great film! Also a good song in hindsight!
Massive Blancmange fan from the start, this is my favourite Blancmange song by far.
I love this song, and the video
The 80s...what a memorable time...unforgettable fashion, cool hair styles, music that made hearts and feet dance! This song is truly one of the best...I always loved this music video, what a difference with today's music...it's pure rubbish......really...I wish I had a time machine and go back to those beloved years!
Mental note - don't every call these guys to help me move.
Just an absolutely perfect song with an absolutely perfect video to match.
When I saw this in "Flight of the Navigator" I wondered why I'd not heard it before, I know several other Blancmange songs. Then I looked it up. Big #2 hit in the US. Only got to #77 is the UK. That explains it.
#2 on only the US dance chart, #77 on the US pop chart.
David: My mom took me to see the Bee Gees a couple months ago, who'd you see?
Carolyn: Twisted Sister.
David: Never heard of her.
Carolyn: It's a him.
David: Oh.....
Carolyn: Actually, it's a them.
So progressive to acknowledge the non-binary in 1986.
My fav Blancmange track off a severally underrated Blancmange release,
love the music video so much!
What's your problem? 😁
@@Reisuke67 hahahah
that one also has another great Blancmange music video
@@lhair02 22339 has been another earworm for me. I just love when Neil's singing has that manic touch!
@@Reisuke67 Thats Neil for ya!
his untrained touch to his delivery is so him on many tracks like that one you mentioned
@@lhair02 "Untrained", to me, sounds a bit like dog training, so I'd say "self-trained". He doesn't sound like his master's voice, but his own. But maybe I just never came across his role model yet...?
Great song. Looks like it could be an Art of Noise video.
Nice hair
blancmange a very under-rated band, thats love that it is one of the best songs of the 80s
This video was heavily played on U68 back when this single was released. U68 was a million times better than MTV. I had tickets to see Blancmange at The Ritz in NYC, but we wound up moving that weekend to a new apartment and I wound up missing the show. I wish I could have seen them live. "Believe You Me" is my favorite Blancmange album with "Mange Tout" a very close second. I am still buying their new releases, but will always cherish their earlier work.
I never knew that this was their song even though I was a fan in the late 80's.
This is an amazing video, I have never seen it before.
Fantástico
Si que lo es!Tremenda cancion verdad?
Blancmange I love you!!!!!
I can see why this video cost a bloody fortune But I love it It sums up the 80s
Pardon me...coming through.
I love Blancmange
Watching Flight of the Navigator right now and now I'm here, can't believe I missed this video as a kid in the 80s lol
I remember I was enjoying this video and then some weird-ass ship brought me back to 1978 and I had to wait 8 years to see it again
Demolition is so 80s, especially when CRTVs are being smashed.
Навигатор 😊
Its just hilarious how so many of us found this song the Flight of the Navigator. Its such a great song and group. Dont tell me and Living on the cieling are 2 other great songs. I more than likely would never have heard of them if not for the movie.
al principio no te enganchan sus canciones que por lo general empiezan de una forma lenta, pero después te vas clavando en la letra, los instrumentos, el ritmo y lo divertido e innovadores que eran las producciones de los videos musicales y listo, quedas enamorado.
Dreams have meanings
My dreams:
This definitely could have been a Depeche Mode song. Maybe from the Some Great Reward era, right before their 1986 directional shift into more darker and more edgier theme.
This deserved to do so much better
Love this 80s music. B one of my favorite.
But fck the goddamn ads already. It's really gone overboard.
There's a dude named Neil in this video. 👍🏾👍🏾
this was in a film how is it not more famous??
Because, as much as I hate to say it, the movie was kind of a "cult" classic?
When this song first came out the video was banned from the BBC broadcasting in the UK, or so I heard.
Flight of the Navigator brought me here
Though the song is very beautiful, I must ask… what am I exactly looking at?
BTW, Thanks “Flight Of The Navigator (1986)”!
The 80s absolutely had the best music. Neil couldn't be superstitious though as he broke two mirrors, that's 14 years bad luck!

@@stacyburton280 Nah-uh. Been gone for eight years.
Gone where? Outer space?
Absolutely stunning looking man, seriously sexy and fab music ❤
Didn't MTV ban this because it was "too violent"? (eye roll)
Yep. Pretty sure Close (To The Edit) by Art of Noise was banned for a similar reason (same director for both music videos).

weird but cool 80s band
This got to the dizzy heights of number 77 in the U.K singles chart .I still enjoyed it, but this, in my humble opinion , and it is a humble opinion ,is Blancmange's worst single to date .Their next single which didn't do much better 'I can see it ' I think is a great song and much under rated.
I think you might be right. This song has too much of the nursery rhyme in its simplistic chorus.
You guyses might be on your ownsomes there. Chorus point taken, but very catchy and great harmonies elevate it. Check out the live version, from 1985, on UA-cam. Less nursery rhymey. It certainly wibbles my postlesnoo, as they say in Nuneaton.
If you only listen to the audio, perhaps you may be right. However, I think this song is one that comes to life with its video. They go together, I guess the simple melody lets you not get too distracted as you watch the crazy destruction in each shot.
Myself, I only knew this song because it was in Flight Of The Navigator, otherwise I'd likely have missed it completely.
The leg thing is weird, even for the 80s
Surrealist.
I love Flight of the Navigator, and the song is alright, but this video looks like your abusive boyfriend destroying your house when you try to leave him and his weird spinning foot.
No, I'm sorry Benjamin, But No.
This is one of those terrible cringey music videos you just have to interview a musician about to here what the hell was going on behind the scenes to make all this crap lol
Awful dreary song and video , certainly not one of their best
