Great licks, Danny! For anyone thinking they're taking on too much? I'm 74 with serious arthritis & I'm mainly a keyboard player who dabbles seriously on guitar, daily, so don't be afraid to dive in & commit, Guys! Repetition is the mother of mastery! I'll keep going till I kick the breathing habit! 🤣👍🏻
I've seen a couple other similar vids doing minor variations of these riffs. Picking up on the different variations, then deciding my favorites, will be what helps me create my style/sound. Your video is helping me expand, which I believe is your objective. Thank you, Sir.
that is a really nice LP standard..the nickel Paf's are beautiful and sound terrific. I bought a used black classic installed w/zebra paf's..also great lesson too thx
Nice job! In learning the initial lick (for example) I first just hit the notes until I get comfortable with the fingering/feelings. Then I add the bend until that feels fluid. Then I work in the pull off. Then off course try to increase the speed.
Great VIDEO! Perfect fr someone still learning lead guitar. (me) Subscribed! Hey! That's my guitar in the background. No not that one, the little red one. Gotta git me one of those amps.
Hi, I learnt most of what I know through jamming with others and learning licks from those I was playing with. I would ask my teachers to show me how to play parts of solos or a particular lick. My last teacher, a guy called Dave Kilminster (who now plays for Roger Waters) said to learn at least one new lick every week to place in the lick vocabulary of your mind, from that you will build some killer solos or phases. The theory side of things came much later, as to be honest, I had zero interest in the theory and only to try to play like my hero’s of the guitar world. Still working on all aspects and it never gets boring.
Question for you: in lick 1 and 3, you mention to try to roll the index finger between string 5 and 6. Why not just barre those two strings? That's what I've always done but I get the sense that I shouldn't be doing it. Thanks for the video.
If I was to bar both at the same time there would be a risk of both notes ringing out at the same time. That's the reason I would roll over to the next note.
They're 'a bit run of the old mill' brother, I like the idea of 'to each their own' but they become boringly cliche'd all going around the same rate of tempo, venture out a bit in the feel department, it took me years to break the filthy habit of choofin' around like a commoner.....great vid though!

Cools licks thanks 👍just got to get my speed up with them now😫
was never brave enough to do solos
thinking all these are too difficult
thank you for this
i think i can do it
It the whole thing is daunting, try and take smaller licks out from the main one. It helps in building the confidence
Thanks for the lesson! Looks like the headstock broke once or twice, nice guitar though and tone.
you sure have some cool tips, thanks.
Great video! Thank you for this!
These are some very cool licks Danny. I think they will sound unique to the listener which is always my aim. Thanks for this.
This is a really good video that cuts through the phonies on UA-cam and gets to some core blue licks. Thank you for this fine video
Thank you very much. Will be more like this. Struggling to cut through on youtube so every view counts big time. Cheers.
Just found your channel and love your licks. Subscribed.....
Excellent. Thank you the sub. Hope you like the other videos too.

yes! That's the best way to tackle in bite size chunks, then speed comes after.
You are on great shape man!
Very helpful!! Thank you for a great lesson.
No worries..
What a great looking Les Paul, dude...it aged fantastically
It’s awesome to play too..
The first lick is in Mr crowley just few frets higher. Good Bluesy lick for practicing and warming up.
Pentatonic standard that never gets old. 👍🏼
Ozzi's gang don't play pentatonic's! ....they only play pentagramic's I think?
Nice mastering..🎉
Straight to the point…. Thanx man ! 👍🇨🇦
Cool guitar!🎸

With a surname like page it was evident that you would be a good guitar player. Great tutorial dude
You say that....but, my brother cannot play!
Thanks Danny, você é o melhor!t❤m
Obrigado…
Dan, the man!!!
Great licks, like all talented musicians you make it look easy. Great sound too ..what amp setting do you use?
Thanks.. I usually set everything to pretty much 12 o'clock and adjust a little either side of that. But that's it really.
All good stuff right there bro ! Waiting to see if you do the Jimmy Page lick, 😂
Probably got one in there somewhere, of sorts!
Danny, could u say how did u learn to play especially what if it wasnt the licks u showed what were u playing to learn to play?

Sweet as. Cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!

That second lick is killing me. I can’t find the rhythm up at full speed.
Repetition brother.
slowly start to learn the pattern.. then slowly build the rhythm.. repetition is the key
You are my master 👍
Good you will be!
I love blues ❤❤❤❤
Where it all started.
This is waaay coool! 😎 so glad I stumbled upon this video Danny!
Awesome! Thank you!
What is the difference between 1 and 3?
Different formation, very subtle but different and rhythm is different too.
@@DannyPage thanks, I'll try paying a closer listen. Does it simply start on a different beat, or is it more than that?
There's nothing wrong with, "unfluent". Good, patient job.
Can I get the bakcing track?
Backing track is on my Patreon page. Should be linked in the description but I will check that now.
Nice vid. Led me to your home page where it looks like lots more. Will stick with you as a new sub.
Thanks for the sub!
hey are u related to Jimmy Page?
Vox wah wah
😊
Error = Intro for lick 3 was lick 1
Nope. The pattern is different. Look at the sheet if you can.
U explained lick 1 and 3 different but the fast version is the same 😅
Ah.....I will blame my editor!
🎉
Hey! You had long hair like I got . 😎😎😎😎
Yep I did. It needed a bloody good cut though!! So I got a shorter than anticipated cut!
🙏
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Also how to play like Ace Frehley
I am slow 😢
Play these slower and they will work just as well. No need to learn them at the speed I have demoed them.

They are standard cliche licks mate. Same track to keep it simple and easy to learn. Once you’ve learnt them, the fun begins.
@@DannyPage -or the bad habits of becoming a rock n roll meat robot can also begin too no doubt... 🔓
Pffft…. Good licks. Ignore the haters 👍
@@rockinrob6853They don’t bother me mate. Can’t please everyone…
I recognize that first lick.
