This is the first time I have heard your voice, Carl. I've frequented your website for years and yet I never, until about 3 minutes ago, knew that you had a youtube channel. I never knew how bad I wanted to actually know you are a human person until I saw this video in my recommendations.

Trying to gain fame with a vampire (both packs are new to me). She used to suck people dry because I didn't have the patience, but now she's level 2 fame, and HUGE perk: go to the LA of Sim-World (forgot the name) look for your fans: you don't even need to introduce yourself. They'll offer you their wrist almost EVERYtime! :D
I preordered Get Famous and was counting down the days until release. Last night at 11pm, Origin spammed my email inbox telling me my preorder was ready. I probably deserved that... 😅

Hey, glad you found me! To be honest getting the word out is the hardest part. People are slowly discovering this side of things. I know some people on the guide see the channel but are more interested in the lists and other useful text-based things there. I hope to have the two styles compliment one another but it's a challenge. At this point I'm enjoying doing both. I can write when I feel introverted and put myself out there when I'm feeling it. :)
To tell a story, the funny category will usually be your best bet. "Tell funny story" is the one I use whenever I get that requirement, as it always seems to be available.

I'll give that a shot next time, thank you.... and I'm sure you helped some other people as well. I expected it to be a new interaction from GF. But I don't think my Sim had access to that just yet, just jokes. I was never one for parties and didn't do a guide on them, so I'm guessing your best bet on gold for those is to do the easiest ones and those you know how to do to avoid wasting time... The new party types give gobs of fame if you get gold (along with Black and White party) so it'll be worth me checking them out!
@@CarlsSimGuides There's definitely other, older party types that require it as well, because I used to be just as frustrated with it as you are now! I personally am not a fan of how they did the party requirements either, and I find throwing parties to be one of the most frustrating things in the game. So I can totally see why you wouldn't like them.
Yeah, the new parties are great for that, but still, in my opinion, not fun at all!

But my sims gig wil start at 9 am and at 9 nothing happens. They just carry on with thei day and I don’t get the choice to go with them and they don’t even go themselves

I had this too.. So here's the why; you probably travel to somewhere else but you shouldn't do that until you've done with the Gig you have. It didn't used to happen idk why it happens now.

Console player here. What I’m finding most annoying about this pack is the actor career. Sometimes I can get the gig and prepare for it, but when it’s time to go to work absolutely nothing happens, and I have to drop that gig and get a new one.
The same thing happens to me! So annoying. I thought it’s a bug it something, how did you fix it?
Sabina M I haven’t the foggiest idea how. Sometimes it works when I make sure my sim is just standing idle, and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I definitely got a bone to pick with Maxis about it.

Yep, I'd say that's true. Careers give some good opportunities (saw them in XML but haven't played them). It's very rocky starting out but it trickles in, but by Celeb rank 2 and around 3 or 4 skill in acting you have a good base to build from.
its a little more complicated tbh xD both of my sims have maxed out careers, and they didnt have any fame to start off with, had anotoher sim that didnt have a maxed career, and gaining fame was pretty much the same amount tbh. i would say constantly networking with higher teir celeberties, and acting gig would probably be the fastest way to gain fame. grinded the game since the realised. had it preordered lmfao. Though if your sim career isnt maxed yet, then gaining fame could be easier, esepically when it comes to the perks that help with that.
Fame will come more easily with Sims who have maxed their Skills.
I had a Super easy time earning fame through "normal" skill interactions like selling paintings, playing, singing and licensing music, publishing books, and combining newer item functionality with basically anything else. For instance live streaming on the drones while doing something. The larger your follower base, the more impactful all digital social activities will be.
The fame system appears to be Very deep, complex, and fully integrated with most if not all other skills.
I just downloaded this pack, so I'm glad to have found a video with tips.

Hope they fixed the distractibility issue, I have the same problem with trying to put toddlers to bed. I will have one parent try to read the child to sleep, and the other parent will constantly interrupt until the child is exhausted to the point where I get a warning about it.
Thanks for the tips Carl! Increasing fame is so hard. It's such a slow process if you're just recording and uploading videos. I'll have to throw more parties.

I used to be in the entertainment industry myself. I'm not going to lie, it's hard as fuck to get into something like that. Unfortunately I don't see myself getting back into that any time soon.
Remind them that they can also lose fame points gained if they are not consistent with their follow up. And they will lose the fame points and the xtra skills gained. So keep on top of that. I add to their stories alot. It helps also what ever gives fame as well.

yeah. i think it has something to do with the del sol valley neighborhood specifically
sometimes i do! But for the most part Get Famous and all its interacts etc is working fine except that ONE god DAMN bug for just that one specific i think it was camping tv show gig . i had an ocd about acing every single gig and nearly flung myself out the window when it caused me to almost fail it completely
other than that, im really enjoying it! lol
the games not sending my sim to the studio so I keep missing all the gigs..-w- its really starting to piss me off and I'm starting to regret buying it.
DatBadAssUnicorn I had the same issue! So I gave up and chose the musician career and was able to become famous

I don’t wanna use cheats to level up, but it’s taking forever to get to B-lister (I’m already in the acting and all the necessary skills completely maxed out)
My sim is level 10 in violin, guitar, and singing and I’ve been having her busk or sing in the streets
I have no idea why it’s taking so long since is never taken this long before. My sim is an alien, is that why?
My sim never gets to an audition... Like, nothing happens. She doesn't leave and there's no option for me to tell her to leave. So nothing happens... What should I do?
How to using first person in game?
Shift-Tab - it was added in the most recent patch. You can leave the mode with the same button. Press shift while in this mode and you can select parts of the interface. Right-click will let you bring up the move command to get around obstacles like doors.
