In the class which this teaser is advertising, Xander Parish teaches through Conrad’s Solo from Le Corsaire Act II.
Conrad the king of the pirates, along with Ali his slave, have just rescued Medora and other slave girls from being sold in the marketplace to the rich Pasha and have returned to their hideout in the caves. The pirates are merry, celebrating their victory and amongst these celebrations the famous Pas de Trois between Medora, Conrad and Ali takes place. This Solo is the third solo within the pas de trios.
After a studio performance of this Solo, Xander goes back to the beginning and explains how he performs it, looking at both the choreography, including all of the technical elements required, and also at the character, which is a major part of performing this piece successfully.
