My setup looked very similar to yours for my November 12 hour ultra - I absolutely LOVED my chaise lounge and fleece blanket. The other runners couldn't believe it, they had either simple camp chairs without footrests, or were sitting on their coolers. Lol Love the large battery, and will definitely bring tarps and a speaker next time!
Yep exactly! The guy that finished 2nd at Elsie only had a chair and his cooler; thats it! If we are going to suffer on course, we need to have the items needed to recover as quickly as possible in the little time between loops.
You have an enviable support tent! Congratulations, very good ideas for those who do 12/24 h races. Too bad they didn't have Kilian's tent like that (I'm just kidding). Congratulations on the channel / videos!
Thank you, Reto! Yep, the last man standing type events are all about strategy, and if you can project the image that you are their for however long it takes, then that plays a big role. At least in my opinion.
This was great, thanks! So I understand why you didn’t talk about food, but...in something like Saturday’s Snowbird challenge, if you had no crew, what kinds of real food would you have on have to eat (like at lunchtime)? It’s 9 hours of running and I can’t do it on PBJs and Swedish fish alone. 😂 Thinking turkey tortilla wraps? Maybe a grilled cheese would still be good cold/at room temp? Just looking for ideas, because my group won’t have time to cook/heat anything.
Thanks! So being vegan my diet is different than most. However, even in this longish event, I will only eat pb&j, bananas, hash browns with avocado, maybe some soup. Typical small things. I don't want to eat a full on meal. Wraps would be a good idea. Grilled cheese as well. The aid station will have pb&j, and other stuff. Take whatever you have used before as you don't generally want to try something new on race day. Heat up some chicken noodle soup and throw it in a thermos maybe. Be sure to come say hi at the race!
Hmm. What are you viewing the video on? I’ve heard on Android they don’t show up some times. On computer and TV they do, and on iPhone they do, but it’s mostly cut off the way it’s formatted.
I updated the description with a couple of links to some of the items. What other items do you recommend?
Good info, thanks.
Glad it helped
Good info for when I do my ultra! Which likely won’t ever happen. But good to know!! That is a SICK CHAIR
Hahaha hang around long enough and we will get you to that ultra! haha thanks, Celine!
14 years old doing my first backyard ultra. Good tips for beforehand
Good luck!
That’s an awesome setup! Only thing missing is the minibar and karaoke machine 👍🏼
Next time! Plenty of room for a minibar lol

Timely. lol See you Friday.
Exactly! See you Friday!
And we just get to reap the benefits of Steven’s planning 🤣
@@valankornhaus7320 tell him to buy me a zero gravity chair. 😂

What battery pack are you recommending? I like that!
They don't have this one anymore, but this is just like it: amzn.to/38VVwFi
@@UltraTrailSteven awesome! Thank you! It’s pretty darn reasonable, too!
@@nickbecker7713 Yep. I have used it to start my van several times too.
@@UltraTrailSteven that’s always nice to have around then! I love those heaters. They work surprising well!

@@UltraTrailSteven thanks so much, great ideas! Especially avocado and hash browns, that sounds delish. Will keep an eye out for you Saturday!
What brand of chair is that?
Not real sure to be honest. We bought it at Walmart.
I need A lot of stickers if that’s been proven. Would explain why I’m still slow 😂
haha I know where you can buy an awesome UltraTrailSteven sticker... just sayin
Science.
Facts!
On your videos I never see the little pop-ups with the other videos you suggest. You reference them often, but they never show. May be my user error.
