Kenedi Anderson has everything it takes to be a superstar -- I'm very interested to see how she progresses on American Idol and her career afterwards! Still in shock from realizing she goes to high school with both of my younger sisters (the same high school I went to) in the tiny town of Crozet, Virginia. Who thinks she should collaborate with The Bass Gang?!

Stylistically she's kinda riff heavy for my tastes, but as American idol judges historically eat that up it's a smart move for her to be playing here. Is that her unadorned style or is she playing to her audience? *shrug*
I find it interesting that historically the people who come in 2nd and 3rd generally do better long term that those that win these shows. Generally they are left a little more room to breathe and more control over their own careers. So for her sake I hope she does well enough, if you follow what I mean. :)

Really enjoyed Kenadi's audition. She's very talented, so cute, and definitely has that "it" factor! What a great analysis! When you break things down, I find I hear things I wouldn't have heard on my own. I think I'm learning a thing or two! Thanks Peter!

She's amazing! When you were talking about recitals it made me think of my odd recital issues, during my first piano recital my grandfather had to be rushed out and taken to the hospital and that affected me all through high-school and I couldn't do piano recitals, but I could sing in front or anyone even during solos with absolutely no issues.

I know how you feel with this one lol. Amy Heidemann, of Karmin and Qveen Herby fame, not only went to my small town middle and high school but her mom was my grade school teacher. She’s become a bit of a legend around these parts. Not many famous people come from my fly over corn field of a state 😋.

Wow!! That upper ranged riff, that was smooth! She definitely has a great voice and should go far in the competition. I love her riffing and slides, it's so effortless and smooth.

She’s definitely talented! Have you heard of David Phelps? He’s a world class tenor. I know…opposite spectrum of what you do in the basement as bass. But I would love to hear what you think. You do such a great job breaking down vocal techniques and David Phelps sings in the attic with power. Sometimes I can’t tell if it’s chest voice or mix. That’s how good it is. I obviously know it has to be mixed voice but it’s sounds absolutely incredible. He’s a religious singer but has done a cover on Whitney Houston’s “I’ve Got Nothing.” “Until Then” and “We Shall Behold Him” have incredible endings. He also has sang “O Holy Night.” I seriously am always dumbfounded by what he can do with his voice. Definitely classicly trained!
Nice reaction. You should check out Faouzia "You don't even know me" stripped. Full round low notes with bright clear highs. Truly an amazing voice and composer

I would love see you react to Haley Reinhart with Postmodern Jukebox's cover of "Creep". As Haley puts on a vocal master class in just that one performance and her voice is extraordinary. In fact, every vocal coach that I have watched react to it has been totally blown away. I have a special request for you if you don't mind. It's a live version of Pentatonix original song, Run to You. The video is linked below. This is truly one of their most stunning live performances I've ever seen. Not only are they amazing, but so is the sound engineer because you can clearly hear each individual person, which is hard to accomplish with live performances. Kenedi Anderson has this song that she sang from her home. I love her interpretation and artistic approach. I think the world just said "by Lady WHO?".. because she put absolute SHADE on GAGA. Just give #KeniKats the VMA's "Best New Artist" award already, because the best thing Kenedi can do for herself is 2nd place. Look at Madde Poppi vs Gabby Barret. Kenedi is World Idol in my book. AI is a baby step.

Would love to see you react to and comment on this 12-13 year old girl singing in her "Elvis" registry on the song "How Great Thou Art", mind you this is a child singing in this lower registry of her voice, which has many more octaves and a 100 different voices for pretty much any genre of music. She was signed by Republic Records at age 14 and will undoubtedly be the next superstar for many years to come....she has an unbelievable range in her voice and this just happens to show the lower range. You might be interested in another emerging, unique voice, Angelina Jordan's. Someone below suggested started with her very deep voice covering How Great Thou Art in the same key as Elvis, but at age 13. It's surprising, but not her very best. Her performance on America's Got Talent shows her unusual cover and arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody.
