This 75 year old, Black grandmother, who grew up under Jim Crow in Georgia, would like to say "Thank You" for this beautiful conversation with your grandparents. TGBTG - May they continue to be blessed and be a blessing. Glad to have them on the "old" team!!.
Glad you enjoyed! We really appreciated the privilege we had to interview our grandparents and have a platform to share the valuable insights they have!
@@GottaBMePodcastbeautiful ladies I visited your grandparents church in Warsaw, In over 8 years ago. They were so kind and thoughtful of me even though I was dressed in secular clothes. Your grandma would text me and checked up on me in my travels.
I just watched this and your grandparents blessed me with so many gems. I will watch this again and take notes. I lost my parents in 2013 & 2017. Listening to them was like sitting at the feet of my parents and gleaning. You are blessed to still have them. Love on them & cherish every minute you have with them. ❤
Y'all grandparents seems peaceful, sincere and compassionate. I love to see the love that permeates in this family unit. We need to emulate the love that y'all are displaying in this conversation. I love how the grandparents talk about their life experiences. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾
Your grandparents are so right. If young people would just listen. I am exactly in your grandparents generation and I agree, I am going to continue to reach out to my grandkids (twin 10 year old boys), who at this young age think they know everything. I always told my students that you never stop learning. I learned as much from them as they did from me. Tell your grandparents that this grandma is going to continue to hang in there, sharing and serving.
Two things. I’m not a religious person. But I hope this channels EXPLODES!! It is phenomenal to see this level of Christian conservatism mixed slightly with a bit of social liberalism in two young sista!! 2. Black don’t crack. I’m the same age as y’all parents. My grandparents are the same age as y’all grandparents. I’m biracial from back in ‘74…. And black don’t crack so I look like I could definitely be in my late 30’s. But y’all grandparents look like they could be in their 40’s with salt and pepper!! We have great genes!! Keep up the good work, young ladies. You have a fan in me!! Only negative was your granddaddy’s choice of frat!! All about those Apes and ‘06!! 😂 🤙🏽🦍
Your grandparents exude wisdom. They are not old... they are seasoned. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was so heartwarming. I totally agree that young people need to listen. Let us get our sentence out before you cut us off. Take a breath and listen to the wisdom because not only must you catch what is being said, but also what is not. Don't even chime in as we're talking because you can throw us off, lol. Let the wise speak and be heard without inturruption. I'm so thankful that the algorithm got it right this time. We family now! 💜
My mom always asked me if I think she was born yesterday. 😂 she always spoke to me in parables. I didn’t understand what she was saying then but as I got older I started to understand what she was telling me. I miss her a lot. Thank you for this interview with your grandparents. 👍🏽😃
I agree there has to be a willingness I know many elders who assume immediately that younger people don’t care and often young people think the elders don’t care so many people think there in it by themselves yes it is much appreciated when elders are willing to share the wisdom I appreciate this episode ❤ Pouring into our families and other should happen naturally and over time not just when we’re upset or disappointed in them because we assume we/ they were raised “right” we should be pouring in at all times not just when the mood is right pour into them from a very young age not when you’ve reached your breaking point
I've learned it needs to be when the young are ready to receive. I've poured all of their lives as children, but as adults, adulting is a matter that is received when wanted. And that season is on their terms, not on the elder's.
Great interview, I think all grandkids should interview their grandparents at least once in their lives. I totally agree with the grandmother when she said basically if our children don’t respect us our grandchildren won’t either. And grandfather recognizing that him and his wife having different upbringing mattered.
This was the best ever!!!! I truly enjoyed the talk with your grandparents. Love all the knowledge and wisdom they shared. Please ink them a permanent spot on the show once a month to come on and talk about everything. It truly was refreshing to see you girls interact with your grandparents. I love when you had your moms on, so only fitting to bring on the dads..
50yrs...amazing! More conversations with our elders like this needs to happen, especially in our black community...and just listen to them. I'm amazed and so impressed at how well-rounded you ladies seem as well as your family...very impressive. Relationship and family goals for sure...absolutely adore you guys!
The Wisdom and knowledge of this episode is awesome, I wished I could set down and talk with you all for hours. I totally agree with them. Thanks for sharing!
Brother Binion is a VERY wise man, and I am blessed after hearing his testimony! Praise the Lord for the blood of the Lamb and the words of his testimony!
Thank you for sharing this personal and uplifting video. Your Grandparents are elegant. I am my grandparents’ favorite. I have spent many hours with them, so I can relate. My grandmother was born in South Africa. She made it her mission to give me her history and insisted that I always respect my ancestors and respect books and education. My grandmother would not subordinate herself to any man, she was able to spit fire when needed. This video gives new respect and admiration for you both. You young ladies are on a good glide path and life will reward you. As always, best wishes.
25:32 I wholeheartedly agree. I believe my perspective was broadened by having great grandparents in my life. It was beautiful hearing about the multiple generations in one home - when the grandmother was speaking. It’s not always possible. When it is, it could be a beautiful thing.

I wasn't in a rush to grow up when I was a kid but for some reason, I love the idea of being an "old lady" since I hit my 40s. 😂 Maybe I'd feel differently if I didn't have to remind people my age but I'm glad to be old enough to dodge ALL that young people drama!
