First time viewer to your channel -- really enjoyed your video and agree with you completely. I purchased an A95L in late October'24 after watching an LG 60" plasma for 15 years. The leap in TV tech is jaw-dropping and I just love the QD-OLED picture quality in streaming, 4k and regular blu-rays and the superb Sony upscaling of DVDs (particularly with Black & White movies). I thought I had "inky blacks" with the plasma, but they were dark grey compared to the blacks of the A95L-- and that depth of contrast provides the near-3Dquality of the picture. Best to you!

@@lesgoe8908 hey Les, thanks for watching! n woah that's quite the control u have there to wait 15 years! color me impressed, can't imagine the stark difference 🤯. Question for you, I'm working on my next video and because of a bunch of commenters I decided to purchase a blu ray player to see the difference vs streaming.. what's your take? like I deliberately bought a bunch of movies that are also currently streaming on Netflix to compare the blu ray experience to the netflix calibrated mode and while there is definitely an improvement in resolution, sound quality, and motion, to me the whole net increase in immersion of the content being watched just isn't enough to warrant the extra hassle involved with getting a blu ray player and discs and putting them in and dealing with the outdated menu navigation systems. What's your thoughts on this? like just try back and forth comparing a movie u have on blu ray vs streaming on the A95L in calibrated mode.. I really have to try to feel like im experiencing a significant improvement, save for like sound quality which is often obvious 🤔

Congrats on the A95L. I have the A95K and it’s been great. Couple of small things. First OLED is usually heavier than LCD/LED TVs all other things being equal due to OLEDs having a glass in them, but they can be thinner. Other thing is I still find myself using the Apple TV remote more than the Sony one. The Sony one is a very good remote and I still use it for certain things but the backlight tends to burn through battery life far more often since it lights up every time it senses the slightest movement.

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  19 днів тому

thanks BigFil! hmm I swear chat GPT disagrees with you on the panel weights see below. Hmm I haven't run out of battery on the Sony remote yet and ended up moving my apple TV 4K to the bedroom actually because I was getting better experience (picture and sound) using the google TV built in OS. made a video about it here: ua-cam.com/video/TcQyLsLVgzM/v-deo.html
Generally, OLED panels weigh less than Mini LED or Full Array LED panels of the same size. This difference in weight comes down to the construction and technology of the displays:
      1. OLED Panels
      • No Backlight: OLED panels are self-emissive, meaning each pixel generates its own light. This eliminates the need for a bulky backlight system.
      • Thinner and Lighter: Without a backlight, OLED TVs are typically slimmer and lighter than other display types.
      • Example: A 77” OLED TV like the Sony A95L weighs approximately 77.6 lbs (35.2 kg) without a stand.
      2. Mini LED and Full Array LED Panels
      • Backlight Requirement: Mini LED and Full Array LED TVs rely on a layer of LED backlights to illuminate the screen. This layer adds weight and thickness to the TV.
      • Cooling Mechanisms: Mini LEDs often require additional cooling systems due to the high density of LEDs, further increasing the weight.
      • Example: A comparable 75” Mini LED TV like the Sony Z9K weighs around 98.1 lbs (44.5 kg) without a stand.
      3. Why the Weight Difference?
      • Panel Construction: OLED panels combine the display and light source into one layer, while Mini LED and Full Array LED systems separate the two.
      • Materials: Mini LED and Full Array systems use more components (e.g., backlights, diffuser plates) which increase weight.
      Practical Considerations
      • Wall Mounting: OLED TVs are easier to mount and handle due to their lighter weight.
      • Durability: Mini LED and Full Array LED TVs are often more robust because of their additional layers, which may make them better for certain installations or environments.
In conclusion, OLED TVs tend to weigh less than their Mini LED or Full Array LED counterparts because of their thinner and more efficient design. However, other factors like durability, brightness, and cost might influence your choice.

@ check out 3:12 on this vid ua-cam.com/video/2r3rr1zzu8g/v-deo.htmlsi=boW1lWsXW1KV_95A
The more I think about it there’s a lot more to factor in like build quality and most of my hands on lifting oof TVs has been regular LCD/ LED TVs and none with Mini LEDs. I think all OLEDs are premium TVs where LEDs run all the way from bargain basement to flagships which probably skewed my experiences. It would be interesting to what the weight difference of a bare OLED panel vs bare Mini LED of say an A95L and similar size B9 are if you stripped away any heatsinking, chassis, power supply and main boards comes out to.

I had the A95K and thought it had the best picture I'd ever seen, but it froze in Netflix and had random shut downs. I returned it and ended up getting an S90C. A year later I sold it with the intent of getting the S95D, but somehow I ended up with the G4. It's great and has great detail, but the colors aren't QD-OLED. I don't game on it, just NFL football, golf, streaming and 4k blu ray discs.
The A95L is super tempting now that it's on a bit of a sale, but everyone says the G4 has the best depth, upscaling, motion and clarity. So many hype it up over the A95L for gaming, but since I don't game on it, that's really not a bonus for me. I'm curios how they compare for everything but gaming. I might just buy this open box A95L and if it's better for me, then return both and get a brand new one. Did you get a chance to see the G4 and the A95L side by side?

RTINGS made a comprehensive side by side of it vs the A95L, recommend watching that if ur on the fence.. it swayed me squarely in the direction of the A95L and no regrets. Just ordered my first ever 4k blu ray player n discs coz of some of the comments here. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow!

    Hi Bro,
I am planning to buy the A95L 55 inches and my question is how good is the motion?
Have you got any chance to experience any horizontal pan shorts in any movie or series in which you faced any sutters?

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  Місяць тому +1

Hey Melvin, personally, I think the motion handling is great and I have enjoyed watching countless movies with occasional horizontal panning shots with no concerns or desire for anything different. As for the long objective take, see below:
The Sony A95L QD-OLED TV offers impressive motion handling capabilities, particularly for horizontal panning shots. Its advanced processing technology effectively reduces motion blur and judder, resulting in smoother and more fluid on-screen movement. This performance is especially beneficial during scenes with rapid horizontal motion, such as sports broadcasts or action sequences.
However, some users have reported motion artifacts during horizontal panning shots. For instance, a comparison between the A95L and the older A1E model showed that the A1E handled panning more smoothly, while the A95L exhibited skipping and smearing. This suggests that, despite its advanced technology, the A95L may still encounter challenges with certain types of motion.
To optimize motion handling for horizontal panning shots on the A95L, consider adjusting the MotionFlow settings:
      1. Access MotionFlow Settings:
      • Press the ACTION MENU button on your remote control.
      • Select Picture or Picture Adjustments.
      • Navigate to Advanced Settings.
      • Under Motion, select MotionFlow.
      2. Adjust MotionFlow Settings:
      • Set Smoothness to 1 or 2 to reduce motion blur without introducing the “soap opera effect.”
      • Set CineMotion to Low or High to improve film-based content playback.
These adjustments can enhance the viewing experience during horizontal panning scenes. However, individual preferences vary, so it’s advisable to experiment with these settings to achieve the desired motion clarity.
In summary, while the Sony A95L provides strong motion handling for horizontal panning shots, some users have noted issues. Fine-tuning the MotionFlow settings can help mitigate these concerns and enhance overall motion performance.

Hey Mathew, first of all, thanks for watching! love to hear you found it useful and are also in process of selling ur old tv. Wishing you a smooth sale 🙏 Okay, so 1) you can get dolby vision when using streaming boxes like the apple tv 4k or the google tv 4k streamer, it's just that you can't get the Netflix and Prime video 'calibrated' modes which in my opinion make ALL content on those two streaming services, not just content that is mastered for dolby vision, look amazing. Even for Dolby Vision content, I prefer the 'Calibrated' modes over the regular dolby vision. These calibrated modes are only available directly through the Bravia TVs OS that is the built in Google TV. 2) I didn't know about this idea of movies looking better through a streamer box. Perhaps for old TVs but certainly not these flagship level new TVs. I've done extensive back and forth comparisons to make sure for myself and can confirm at least for this TV, pretty much everything looks better when streamed directly through the TV OS and especially in the calibrated modes. 3) haha I feel your concern, was your Bravia A8H 65 inches? I do think going bigger is definitely the move if you have the extra money. I would have even went bigger than 77inches if they had the option, probably would have been a good deal more expensive too though. Hope that helps brother 🙏

Black Friday Deals | Arc Ultra Review
      ua-cam.com/video/LSYa4dORKos/v-deo.html
But the TLDR if you don't have time to watch is that changing your rears out for the Sonos Era 300s is bound to make the most impactful difference in your surround sound experience. That plus always make sure the signal your Sonos system is getting when watching movies or TV is either 'Dolby Digital Plus 5.1' or 'Dolby ATMOS'.. just avoid 'multichannel pcm 5.1' signal which really doesn't do the Sonos system justice. Hope that helps 🙏

Like right now when i'm watching youtube on my tv it says 'Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0'.
      2) Yes, the Sonos Era 300s will make the biggest difference to your current setup. Actually checking the signal thing I mentioned will make the biggest difference followed by adding the Sonos Era 300s as rears.
      3) I tried the 2 subs. A Sub gen 3 and sub 4 together. Didn't make much of a difference to my ears in my small living room. Like 300 Sq Ft. If your in a wide open concept large living room perhaps 2 subs would be a noticeable upgrade. As it is now for me though, the whole place rumbles already.
      4) For the Sony A95L settings, this is what I have: go to Audio Output >> Audio System Settings:
      Acoustic Center Sync = Off
      Audio System Prioritization = Off
      A/V Sync = Auto
Digital Audio Output = Priortize pass through

Well not to burst your bubble, but from Sony it's probably not going to be everything you hope it is.
Don't get me wrong Sony makes a fantastic television and I currently own one so yeah, but every year people sit around and hope that Sony is going to come out next year with a brighter TV or better gaming features or four HDMI 2.1 inputs, you name it people dream about it. Every year though Sony doesn't implement these things and on top of that travesty it's consistently $400 to $500 more expensive than the competition.
All of this makes you sit around and wonder what the heck is Sony doing, it makes you sit around and question your choices and have a lot of fomo going on and worry.
Let me tell you though that you should worry not. Almost always, and I am not a Sony devotee, but almost always Sony televisions don't have all the latest and greatest features and brightness and other things that Samsung or LG might have. They might not wow you with how how unimaginably vivid and bright the screen is, they might not make you ejaculate in your pants every time you turn the TV on. What they do joe provide a consistently amazing picture that regardless of content or quality of content or whether or not you're gaming or streaming or watching crappy TV off of a antenna you've got duct taped to your wall, the image quality is absolutely amazing with everything.
I had my foray into LG as well and it's great, but it was only great when I was watching 4K HDR content, as soon as I put on 1080P or 720 or a standard definition forget about it. Also because of the aggressive Auto brightness limiter that LG's employee after 4 or 5 minutes of watching the football game that bright impressive image was no longer bright or impressive
Trust me when I say Sony even though it costs more and even though it doesn't have as many features is always the way to go, besides everything I've already mentioned you also get the longevity aspect. You pay more now but it lasts you far longer. Of course there are antidotal evidence and reviews of people having bad experiences with Sony quality, but that happens with every company, it just so happens it occurs far less with Sony
      Don't forget the old expression,buy Right,buy once

So I’ve had about 30000 dollars worth of 4K tvs since the technology released. My favorite and longest tv was the CX. I wanted to get the A95L and have waited and waited for the pricing to come down. I went ahead and bought the Bravia 8 because it had the same processor and a way better panel than the CX. The Bravia 8 blew me away for the performance it had but one thing that disappointed was the motion. Somehow the LG motion was still better and because of that returned the Bravia 8 skipping the A95L and picking up the G4 77 when it drops down to 3k in the next month or two.

@ lol tell me about it. I’m not knocking the A95L it’s king of tvs in so many regards the thing is I have bad stigmatism so my eyes are sensitive to motion and pixelation during fast moving scenes especially when panning is involved. I’m referring to movie watching. It’s just not as liquidity smooth maintaining the integrity of the image as good as the LG panels. For example if you pull up the Jennifer Lopez AI movie on Netflix and fast forward to the scene when she jumps into the suit and the spaceship is imploding from the inside you’ll see what I’m saying. You’ll get judder, artifacts, pixelation in the background of the panning sequences it’ll pull you out of the experience. No matter how much you tinker with the settings it’ll be the same. Now that’s a big case example but since my eyes are sensitive I’ll pick it up when to the avg person it isn’t too noticeable. Still a great TV and I’m exited to see what they have in store for 2025.

Great video bro. I believe Filmmaker Mode thats on LG as well as other TV brands is the equivalent of Sony's calibrated mode. Ive heard people say they like LG os over others but to each their own. I dont like cameras on my TV's lol, thats what sensors are for. Camera is still a gimmick like the xbox kinect lol.
To be honest I havent seen a tv with the features that I want to get my to upgrade from my current oled TV which is the LG Oled CX which is still going strong. Im glad TV makers are adding small convenient features like with the remote.
Changing the screen size is interesting but then why not just play on a gaming monitor? Seems kind of pointless to buy abig expensive TV just to make the screen size smaller lol!

@@ANTIQUELEGEND82 thanks bro! 👊 ya like Sony has its own 'filmmaker mode' too but calibrated is just a whole nother level.
The camera, idk man I think it adds functions not available on any other TVs like I said and it is optional/easily removable with a manual camera cover for those that fear for their privacy.
Defo, the LG CX can probably remain relevant for a few more years easy. I was always thinking like if i'm not blown away by the difference, I'll just return the sony and keep my CX, but suffice to say I was and still am blown away. The CX fetched a pretty great price in fb marketplace too. I always consider the value the product is losing over time as I consider when to upgrade. E.g. I keep my phone an extra year it becomes worth less so the money I think I saved I could have recouped and put towards a newer product and enjoy that while ultimately losing slightly more money true but if you enjoy tech I mean 🤷
As for the monitor thing, it adds versatility. Some people like playing smaller screen or experience it without having to invest in a whole $1,000 32inch oled 4k gaming monitor plus having to move the ps5 over to the desk each time. Just convenient feature to have. Not a selling point for sure.

@ If your Sony A95L doesn’t appear bright enough in Game Mode or on the Google Home screen, here are steps to optimize the brightness and picture settings:
      1. Adjust Brightness and Picture Settings
      • Go to Settings > Picture Settings.
      • In Game Mode, make sure the following settings are optimized:
      • Brightness: Increase it to your desired level.
      • Contrast: Set it higher (e.g., around 90-95) for better highlights.
      • HDR Tone Mapping: Enable if your game supports HDR.
      • Black Adjust: Set it to low or medium for deeper blacks.
      • Peak Brightness: Ensure it’s set to High.
      • For the Google Home screen:
      • Exit Game Mode and adjust the Picture Preset for standard viewing.
      2. Disable Energy-Saving Features
      • Go to Settings > Power > Eco and disable:
      • Power Saving Mode
      • Ambient Light Sensor
      3. Enable Auto HDR or Optimize HDR Settings
      • If you’re playing HDR games, ensure HDR is enabled on your console or PC.
      • On your TV:
      • Enable Auto HDR in External Inputs > HDMI Signal Format and set it to Enhanced Format (Dolby Vision) or Enhanced Format.
      4. Adjust Game Console or PC Output
      • Check your console or PC settings:
      • Ensure output resolution is set to 4K HDR.
      • For consoles like PS5 or Xbox Series X, enable HDR Calibration.
      5. Firmware Update
      • Ensure your TV is running the latest software. Go to Settings > About > Software Update and check for updates.
      6. Check HDMI Cable and Port
      • Ensure you’re using a high-speed HDMI 2.1 cable.
      • Plug it into one of the TV’s HDMI ports labeled 4K 120Hz or Game.
      7. Custom Settings for Google Home Screen
      • If the Google Home screen looks dim, adjust the TV’s Picture Mode when not in Game Mode:
      • Switch to Standard or Custom mode.
      • Increase Brightness and Peak Brightness as needed.
      8. Restart Your TV
      • Sometimes a restart can fix software issues. Hold the Power button on the remote until the TV restarts.

@@michaeldietz2648 Hey Michael, thanks for watching and dropping ur two cents!
      1) I honestly haven't watched 4k blu ray since the PS3 was originally launched back in 2006 and I would venture to say that most people buying this TV and any other TV are not using 4K blu ray as that is truly an enthusiast thing to do. You would have to like a movie or show so much that you re-watch it enough times to justify purchasing it physically and having it take up space in ur home and have a dedicated device where u have to manually place the disc in. Just a fairly rare thing though I don't doubt in the echo chamber of the internet we will come across seemingly many others who share our interests regardless of how niche they may be.
      2) If anything, flagship TVs shine more with streamed content as it gives their superior processing and hardware room to really flex vs getting a perfect uncompressed signal from a high end blu ray player.
      3) I fully intend on experiencing blu ray on this TV since you and a couple other commenters have gotten me interested in it and say there is a significant difference in both video and audio quality on blu ray though ultimately I know the majority of the use of this TV will not be with playing blu ray content.
      4) I look forward to comparing blu ray experience to the Sony Pictures Core streaming experience which supposedly gets close but doesn't match the bitrate of blu rays.

Blu-ray will blow any streaming service to the point where it’s not even comparable especially in Dolby Atmos sound. The reason why people buy really good high-end TVs is to experience the best possible picture quality and sound they can. But with that said, I truly think you have a lot of potential. Your reviewing skills are some of the best I have seen with people that review TVs Maybe you’re just unaware of how much better physical media is over streaming.

The upscaling on standard DVDs and blueray through the player is also really good. Now here comes huge honesty. It has problems playing 100 gig 4K Blu-ray the only way to make it not freeze on 100gb disc is to go into the settings the resolution to 4K and turn off auto upscaling. After I figure that out it hasn’t skipped or frozen in years. Even though Bravia core supposedly has higher a bit rates. It still doesn’t compete with a standard 1080 P Blu-ray.

Mini LED is simply the better tech, and it’s frustrating to see people still being gaslit into buying OLED by professional reviewers who focus exclusively on what comes closest to a reference monitor in a completely dark room. This doesn't at all represent everyday usage or what most consumers want. Mini LED delivers 95% of OLED’s black level performance while doing so much more that OLED just can’t. With Mini LED, you get incredible performance in both bright and dark rooms, an HDR experience that is so much better it might as well be called a different format altogether, far better brightness stability, way higher peak brightness, zero risk of burn-in, better motion handling, wider color gamut coverage, longer lifespan, and fewer issues like DSE or banding. Personally, I’m never going back to OLED-it’s not even close. When I first saw HDR on a mini LED after owning OLED, it was like seeing what HDR is really all about for the first time. It's a completely different experience.

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  Місяць тому +5

@@armylrs2391 I know what you mean and trust me I did deliberate intensely when deciding between this and the Bravia 9. But after watching Caleb's Digital Trends direct breakdown between the two and looking at the RTINGS comparison spec by spec, test by test, I chose the A95L because the only reasoning I could come up with for the Bravia 9 was the larger 85 inch screen which wouldn't fit in my current place. Like they do discuss HDR at length and say they're on par unless ur watching a lot of sports or something like that which I watch pretty much none of, just UFC. Other than that the OLED has better contrast, viewing angles, and response times (which i'm sure isn't even noticeable to the avg person).
All this to say, I think mini LED in its current state makes the most value sense for most consumers, but flagship OLED still offers the overall best viewing experience (albeit i'm sure not by insane margins by any avg consumer's standards).
Also, there is a massive brightness difference between flagship and entry and mid level OLEDs. So I could def see ur argument shining brighter when comparing my LG CX to something like the Bravia 9 or even Bravia 7, but that's just not a fair HDR fight to begin with.

    • @seifbuys

@hybrid11theory75 thanks for watching! ur not alone in saying this, I bought both a Sony and a Panasonic blu ray player and am working on a video to respond to what you guys are saying. Spoiler alert, I get what you guys are saying but disagree insofar that streaming content looks way better on a flagship tv vs ur run of the mill tv. The benefits of the TV's superior processor and calibrated modes shine more/only on streaming content. Most people watch most content streaming and not via a dedicated blu ray on a dedicated blu ray player so the investment in a flagship TV makes most sense to those using it for streaming vs those watching most content on blu ray (which who are these people btw? pls show me, I want to see them). I get that blu ray has better resolution and sound quality, albeit not by a country mile, signal for signal, at least not on a flagship tv like this. Massive loss of convenience, ease of use, time, and money for not a jaw dropping increase in quality makes it a hard sell.. at least I can say that for flagship TVs like this where the buyers likely are either 1)enthusiasts (blu ray makes sense for these people) (they make up a tiny fraction of a fraction of the total buyers of this TV) or 2)people that value convenience, ease of use and getting the best quality with the least effort (aka the overwhelming majority of buyers of this TV and those like it).
Anywho, all this to say LMFAO at ur comment. Though I enjoy the differing view and opinion and actually live for it so thanks again for watching and dropping the comment 🙏

@@seifbuys To each their own, but you seem like the average consumer who doesn't even know what he's talking about. Ever heard about streaming data loss, color depth and bit rate? U simply can't compare streaming content to a physical media format, the difference is not minimal at all. Sound alone is a night and day difference. Picture is sharp and colours are true and vibrant, streaming limits the potential of your TV more than you think. This is why paying for 4k streaming is a complete scam... u get fake HDR and overall not much advantage over standard SDR. Again u can think of it buying a high end supercar, but only driving it in third gear around the block.... what's the point, just a show off?? LOL

    • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  29 днів тому

@hybrid11theory75 Fair fair. I'm not gonna pretend like i'm the cream of the crop technical blu ray enthusiast, I never claim that in general. Just an average consumer with an above average interest in tech. I do know what all those things mean but makes no difference in the end if I don't feel significantly more immersed in the content at the end of the day. To be clear, i'm not saying there is no improvement, I'm saying you are blowing the improvement out of proportion is all. 'Night and day difference' is not the case if the stream and disc both have the same specs (e.g both 4K dolby vision with dolby atmos). At least not on a flagship TV with processing as good as it is on this in my experience. Like if there was a blind test, I'm sure I could tell the difference with practice. But the fact that I would need to practice is the point. In any case, like you said to each their own, I imagine one can become sensitive to higher resolution over time and develop a strong preference if you're focused on finding the discrepancies which the human mind is conditioned to do. But for someone not looking for these discrepancies and instead just looking to get immersed in the content (aka most people), the greater convenience of streaming will win the masses every time.
And for the record, most people with a Ferrari don't use it to its full potential and it is just a flex for them. So not sure that's the best analogy. I bought this Tv coz I want the best picture quality without having to tinker too much/at all to get it. I can assure you nobody comes to my house and is like "wow that's the Sony A95L!? you must really be rolling in it" 🤣

@@seifbuys But u still seem not to understand basics. U want the best picture possible, but this will never be reached when streaming content. • @seifbuys
      @seifbuys  29 днів тому

@ For the record, I agree 100% with your latest statement and I do understand the 'basics' that you mention. Blu ray discs on good blu ray players do indeed have better motion handling, sharpness, sound quality and less artifacts. I watched John Wock 3 on blu ray last night for that very reason. Humour me though and see that what I am saying is let's say we have an LG B4 and play streaming content on that. Then let's say we play that very same streaming content on the Sony A95L, all other variables equal. Will the picture quality, motion handling, colors, sharpness and everything look better on the A95L? If yes, which indeed the answer is yes, then the benefit of a flagship TV like this is not limited to just blu ray discs. Its benefits shine even more so for streaming content! that's why I exclaimed that your very first statement/comment was laughable and untrue.
On the other hand, if I played a blu ray disc on an LG B4 then on the Sony A95L, would I notice as much of a stark difference in the color, motion handling, sharpness, etc? or would the differences probably be limited more to just the color that the better panel on the Sony can produce? this is a genuine question as I can't say I've done the comparison directly. But I wager to say the differences wouldn't be as clear as they were on the streamed content. The benefits of this 'Ferrari' of a TV shine on streamed content even more than blu ray content as it has more opportunity to flex its muscles than when it's getting a pure clean blu ray signal with all the extra detail it offers. That's what I am saying. Just say you agree and let's move on 😅
