If your string breaks while you are using it, you can tap the head on the ground, and it will auto feed more string out, so you don't have to stop and take anything off. Also, when you are replacing the string when you run out you can twist the green knob to line up the holes and feed the string through. Once you have the string through to the length that you prefer you can twist the green knob to load the string back into the head and you're good to go.
I repair small engines and I found out that push ten times on primer just floods engine most times. I usually press it 3 times or if brand new engine I press it just enough to get gas in bulb then choke it til it fires. Ryobi good trimmers most times
I've been using this type for years.. They are very effective for their price... They are pretty loud and a lot of vibration compared to a echo witch costs about $80 to $100 more but they get the job done. Best string size for them is .095. To start it don't abuse the primer bulb. Best thing is set it to full choke 1st then pump the bulb 3 or 4 times, with one hand on the throttle fully engaged pull the string till it starts to turn on then even if it stalls out put it to half choke pull again. Let it run at full throttle till it warms up. "5 to 10 seconds usually." Then set it to the run position then it'll be good to go. Also while trimming with it don't run it at full speed with a wide open throttle. Use a medium high speed unless needed for very tall or thick grass. Eye protection is a must when weed eating and ear protection is strongly advised. Especially with a ryobi, they are very loud.
Couldn't agree more. However, I have seen in the manual of a 2 stroke Homelite one that the machines should be used in full throttle to avoid oil dripping from the muffler. I press the primer bulb until I see fuel in the return line One should definitely use ear protection while using these fuel-powered machines. Tip: Better to get a shoulder strap and attach it to the shaft using a hose clamp
Yeah I love my Ryobi weedwacker it works great and has tons of power. I agree with the latest comment on the fact that priming the carb ten times tends to flood it.
THANK YOU! You have been VERY HELPFUL in using my new Ryobi for the 1st time! Ran into my 1st issue with the string BREAKING OFF whereby I must remove the trimmer head to pull out additional string! Can you tell me why this happens? It happens to me a LOT and it frustrates me, that I have to stop, remove to the head in order to finish weeding and trimming around my home! Keep in mind that I am a 71 yr old somewhat healthy woman who can do my lawn! Please let me know if I am doing something wrong and WHY the string breaks, whereby I have to remove the head to pull the string out again! I have been buying Ryobi Products for decades! Fell in love with the Product because of its attachment capabilities and I have just about every attachment that I need to maintain my yard and small garden bed!
You actually DON’T have to remove the head to get more string. Just push the center of the head in while at the same time pulling out the string on BOTH sides, it is really fast and easy. Just make sure you have enough string inside the head, and that it is not tangled inside.
@@HRR The string broke off COMPLETELY whereby there is NO STRING to pull on to get more out. Therefore I must remove the Head and FEED the string thru the holes again! Just finish doing that a few minutes ago, tried to restart the motor again and it would NOT START! Do I need to prime the motor 10 more times? As it was only down for about an hour. I'm concerned about drowning out the motor if I prime too many times.
@@HRR OK, Thanks again! The strength in my arms are not what they use to be! If a man was around and I got him to do it, it would probably start RIGHT UP! Care to move next door me? (SMILE)
I bought this brand new at home depot and the shaft once inserted and snapped in pin hole still wasnt far enough in to spin.I had to push it further up the shaft to get it to engage and tighten the wing nut.
I love my 2 cycle trimmer but ur trimmer has different stuff on it like the head u have to pieces u press in mine has like a lock on the head it's the same but different but I loved it $129 3 year warranty can't beat the price in it seems to be well made!!!
I think the arrow are supposed to line up when locked... I was just checking... just bought the curved shaft and I just tore up my lawn lol gotta get used to it

Hi. Written and patterned instructions are on the trimmer motor. And it surprised me too, but that's exactly what it says: 10 times.
I was glad this guy put on some shoes to trim
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, visual learner here, was able to assemble this in no time .

Yeah if it doesn’t start, prime it a few more times, typically doesn’t have to do it 10 times, just 3-5 times will work

Keep these coming. I'm prepping to learn yard work
Just got one myself. The reloading of the string is a bit much but other than that, no complaints.

Ryobi makes great quality tools
Great video. I prefer this trimmer also.
Thank you I have one just need to know how to use it
This head is a waste of money in Australia as the bump knob can not be purchased once it is worn out. You need to replace the complete head.
Question regarding this product. Do you have to mix the green liquid with gas every time you fill up the tank?
How’s it still holding up??
Did this have a harness attachment like pictured on Ryobi website? I don't see it here?
Hola Yo compro una maquina de la misma pero yo no soy mantenimiento cuánto de aceite o Qué aceite le compró para ella y cuánto de hilo
Standing up like that does any fuel or oil leak?

Second time ever using this trimmer it wouldn't start. Don't buy this.
