Tusen takk Anders. Mvfluefiskehilsen Eivind Berulfsen.
Eiviend I fish inshore saltwater, and starting to fly fish again after possible 30 +years .Sad I know. Is their a vice you could recommend either fix or rotating viice . That would hold hooks from1/0 to size 6/0 hooks thank you for sharing your talent with us.
James Grissom Hi James. How great to hear that you’ve found back to fly tying and fishing! Hurray! Hm, I’m not that good with vices my friend. I’ve only had 4 vices in my 35 years of tying and never bothered testing out a hole lot. I never tie on a 1/0 or 6/0 hook. What species are you fishing for? The Dyna King Excalibur I have do take big hooks, but then you need a different “tip”.
I target larger Sea Trout , Snook Red Drum on hooks 1/ to 3/0 Red Drum and junivile Tarpon 3/0 to 4/0 and 5 to 6 on Adult Tarpon and lemon and black tips sharks .I'm looking to take some courses first so I dont pickup any bad habits. Sence I've only tried buck tail jigs and a few clousers . But since my family lives in Tennessee where there's a lot of incredible pristine creeks streams and rivers throughout the mountains. So I try tying smaller flies for gifts too send them.
@@stevestringham1095 hey Steve thank you for your reply. I first want to wish you a happy New Year. I still haven't bought my vic's as of yet . But I collected 3 more deer tails and some long white under belly strips that I'll tan to use hopefully this year along with some Coyote pelt pices. I am leaning toward the HMH standard and a 2nd magnum jaw. Or the Medallion vice. . But I will try to locate that one as well. Thank you so much. Remember we often waist a lot of time in our lives ! By time fishing is never wasted !
@@jamesgrissom3750 for those big flys you're planning i think that vice will work great. i like the coyote, that and the bucktails should work great James. i love tying up flys with materiels i have gathered myself in the wild!
Have you ever tried tying it with a grizzly craft fur in a dubbing loop? For more movement. I was thinking to tie on using grizzly craft fur and see how it comes out, might be a cool idea. Love this fly pattern of you and specially how you place the materials on the exact locations, I've seen more on UA-cam but think your ones are spot on. Perfection 👌
Mr J.Maduro Hi there. No, I’ve not tried that. But you could sure try it out. Craft fur might be to dens, for this pattern. Thanks for the kind words. All the best, Eivind B.
@@Mrfluefiske got it, you have a point, will try and order some off that hackle, hard to get it here in Ireland. Also the big cdc that you use for the ladies, I need to try and order some. Thanks for the quick reply, tight lines Eivind. 👌🎣 Greetings from Ireland.
@@mrj.maduro7563 Its hard to get a hold of any grizzly hackle these days. The marked is all out. You could try to send an email to my sponsor and ask if they will send you cdc feathers. I think he had 5 capes last time I asked him. email post@nfisk.no his name is Runar Kabbe.
Hei.
