Great video! Could you do a video on how to keep your paint workable for a longer time in a warm climate? I live in Brazil and I imagine you have had this issue in Philippines.
Wow! The simplest explanation i’ve seen so far about layering and in 3 minutes! Thank you, bro…. I feel you are dragging me toward the “dark side” making me want painting minis instead of mechas…. 😂
Hey Don, can you recommend a good Caucasian skin shadow/mid/highlight 3 paint combo? I bought the Vallejo Model Colour skin pack(8 paints), but I don't really like any of the paints for a good 3 paint combo. I'm trying to get a good out of the bottle basic skin combo without having to mix. Thanks.
Thank you Ivan! With a lot of paints... errr... I mean a lot of color mixing, you can create really good stuff. No need for other methods of painting. ☺️🎨🎨🎨
Thanks for the video, nice and simple. But I've always had 2 problems when I try layering, one is judging the steps in colour (I always make them too big or too small), the other is that I always get these ugly hard lines between colours. Very anger, much frustrate.
Welcome. I see the first problem, the easiest solution is to mix the colors. For example your base color is orange, then mix a small amount of red ( or red orange ) to make your shadow color. Then mix a small amount of yellow ochre to orange to make your highlight color. Mixing a small mount would ensure a smoother transition. The rough edges can be smoothened out by glazes. I will make more basic videos like this to explain. Cheers! ☺️
3 Minutes? As opposed to me, Don never disappoints in that duration!
Hahahaha! Laughing alone at 11pm! 😅🤣😂
Ayyyooooo 😆
Hello. I’m really enjoying your videos. Well filmed and all your techniques are really well explained. Keep up the good work.
By mixing the colors on the wet pallet you have perfectly explained the layering technique.
Oh I see... Thanks! ☺️🎨🎨🎨

Humid and hot? Workable on the wet palette bro?
@@DonSuratos yes, workable on wet palette. Actually hot and dry, where I live we get 6 months of 28⁰C and less than 20% humidity.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Thank you as always Mark! ☺️🎨🎨🎨
You k ow what I would like to see? I’d like to see you paint a couple mini pilot figures! I’ve been to afraid at attempting the tiny little detail.
1/144? or 1/60? Okay... will do later next week. 😉
@@DonSuratos 1/144 or 1/100 preferably. I can’t afford any 1/60 kits these days!!
Ty for video!
You are most welcome! 😊
Ottima spiegazione, complimenti

Oh... I have the same set, but I agree you need to mix a bit to make painting easier. Have you tried glayering btw?
@@DonSuratos Thanks Don, I haven't tried glayering yet, but watched your vids and will definitely try it out. 😁

Great video Don!! It’s a hard technique to master, but with a lot of practice you can improve it!
Thanks buddy and saludos!!
