I love how you understand basic science and are able to clearly explain what is happening along with outlining steps we can take to prevent mold (fungal) growth. When you explain the types of mold, you will also know what to use to get rid of it. Without this understanding, it is difficult to tackle it.

Chelsey Ybarra Very carefully lol 😂 depends on your kind, but I would assume just spray with your favorite glass cleaner and wipe or squeegee from top left to right or Vica versa in an s pattern back and forth until your finishing on the bottom. Some people even spray a lil black tea ☕️ and wipe with non glossy black and white newspaper 🗞 📰 crumpled up into a ball and wipe clean to a sparkling ✨ finish. Microfiber cloths for glass are great too especially the nicer quality ones from folks like Melissa maker. ✌️💗😁

Does using AC help for when using those things even in the winter time while using an oil heater? Around 10:00 minutes in, you say that you need to have all doors open, to reduce the heat meeting the cold to create that moisture, right? But then you say to keep a vent open with the AC. So I'm wondering how does an AC differ from say keeping your windows not properly sealed the air is still a similar temperature coming from the outside? I checked and 3 of my windows weren't properly sealed and I even found underneath my bed a huge wet spot, doens't look like it's coming from the window either but then again I have no idea where else it would be coming from. Mold can be a real pain. Vinegar's not a bad idea, as well as bleach, but for serious mold issues, you might want to try a solution like RMR86 - amzn.to/3WPAFMT (affiliate link*)

My apartment manager keeps complaining about our humidity being 65% - 70% in our apartment which can create mold. I live in south Florida. It's basically impossible to have below 55% humidity. He says we must keep our A/C at 70 degrees but it doesn't help and it's too cold.
My living and bed room is in one room. Is it possible to sleep in a room that has only 30-50 percent of humidity? Because my former room was full of mold in the walls, I got severe allergies and asthma, now my nose is clogged the whole time. If the air is to dry, my nose is clooged even worse.
I live in the UK and finding mould spots around the house. The bathroom is fine as its all cladded and sealed but passage outside the bathroom gets it and the bedrooms. I have moved insulation in the loft to prevent cold spots and I clean it off regular but still get it on the outside walls. Its generally really small clusters. If I open windows for air it gets too cold. Any more ideas are welcome
If you have recurring mold on the walls it might be time to call in a mold remediation company. They will be able to troubleshoot the problem with you and find out if it's minor or major. If mold is showing up on the walls in visible places, it's quite possible that you've got mold behind or in the walls that needs to be addressed. Mold can make you really sick. It sounds like a ventilation problem. I would call a mitigator to come out and take a look. They may be able to help you or give you some advice. I don't know the situation surrounding your move - if you are renting or buying, but the mold will make you very ill if not dealt with. And removing the surface mold doesn't fix the problem - it just delays it.
What if there’s no vent & the windows are sealed shut in the kitchen? & it smells so bad of mold that you need to wear a mask to be in there, & you just renewed your lease because there’s no place else to go?
Wearing a mask to protect you is definitely a good idea. Maybe even a small fan to help with ventilation since you cannot open the windows would be helpful. Yes, get a mold remediation specialist out to your house immediately. If you have mold on the baseboards you may have it behind the walls as well. Mold can make you incredibly sick. A little mold in a shower is expected from time to time - but if it's outside of a tub or shower - on the walls, flooring or baseboards - please take it seriously. Your health and your life may depend on it.

Thanks, Angela. In our area, all summer long it's at 80% humidity. Now, you wouldn't think, with all that moisture in the air, we'd have a dust problem. It's terrible. Everybody complains about it. We dust and minutes later we can see the dust gather. We installed a central system in the hope of clearing some of that up but....nope. Does dust actually promote mold growth?
Dust itself doesn't cause mold, but it can wreak havoc with your sinuses and lungs. That said, if you have moisture in the air that can create mold. And mold mixed with dust is an unlucky combination of ick to your breathing.
I'm surprised you didn't recommend professional mold remediation for them! It seems like the mold spores would be in all of their upholstered items, furniture, clothes, etc. and taking the contaminated items from one place to another just gives it a new petri dish to grow on... I live in Arizona and we have TERRIBLE black mold problems. Despite the lack of humidity there is usually water damage inside and outside, and drywall/stucco gets compromised. Flat roofs leak easily after standing water accumulates (contrary to popular belief it is not a native architecture style to this particular region, as we get heavy rain/monsoon seasons). It's like the flora here is super opportunistic and will take any damp foothold it can get. The "dust" here is mostly dirt from outside. Dirt and debris (and I'm sure spores and whatnot) from outside blow in through the AC, through windows, tracked in on clothes/shoes, and definitely a ton carried in on pets!
Hi Angela, I have some mould in an old stone rubble built cottage. It is all lime rendered and plastered but still have one area of mould under a window. Thinking of putting a radiator there. Would you advise that?
If she’s having issues with everyplace she moves, Cross Contamination is a very real possibility if she took everything from a highly contaminated environment.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with the mold issues. In addition to the methods you've tried, you might want to improve ventilation, fix any sources of moisture, and consider using a mold-resistant primer. Hope, this helps!
Are dehumifers worth using and do they kill mold already in a room or do they just stop new mold appearing also is salt effective and ok to use in dehumifers that have crystals in the top of it when crystals have run out I have mold in my bedroom and I use dehumifers
You need to get rid of the mold itself and then the stain. Use a mold stain remover gel to get rid of the stain. Then, use a mold cleaner AND preventer to help eliminate the mood. Concrobium kills mold and helps prevent it (but it might not get rid of the stain, so a mold and mildew stain remover will be effective here). The dehumidifier simply gathers excessive moisture (aka water) in the air, and this can definitely help too, but it won't kill the mold itself that's already in a room; you'll need a product to kill it.

Loved this video. Something that was not covered that I am having a serious problem with. My closet is located in my bathroom. I keep the door cracked at all times but doesnt seem to help. I am clearing out somethings from my closet, and finding gobbs of mold. Mold is on my shoes, handbags, clothes that I havent worn in sometime, camera bags and even the cameras inside the bag. Where is the mold? Is it in the shower or on the walls? I ask because mold on the walls is best cleaned by a mold remediation specialist who can suss out the cause of the mold and stop it from coming back with ventilation options.
I have black mold in my washer in the door it’s a front loader. I’ve both bleached and used biocide 100 and scrubbed. It’s still there!!! I am really ill from this. I know you’re no doctor so we won’t discuss what I should do health wise but any ideas on my nasty washing machine? It doesn’t even work correctly water backs up inside the drawer where the soap and softener goes ( but no mold in there)
I have a front load washing machine, I leave the door open but the rubber accumulates water at the bottom of the door and it’s black now. How do I clean the rubber without ruining it? I always clean mold in the bathroom with bleach but the rubber will get damaged if I use that.
Is it possible you have a moisture problem in your game room? If you do, I'd get a dehumidifier or some DampRid amzn.to/34fbhDV in there right away to suck the moisture out of the air. If your discs and cases have mold other areas or items may as well. If it gets out of control you may need to call a mold remediation specialist. Mold can make you really sick.

Kill the mold easy just use citric acid kill all the mold. You can the 500 ml spray bottle put in citric acid four table spoons start the spray doesn’t come back do it again

Try to leave it open and set an alarm or timer if you need too. It does help.

Bleach kills it but doesn't prevent it. Try concrobium. It helps prevent mold from going back!

Dehumidifiers can help regulate the amount of moisture in a room. They will not kill mold. And is salt effective? I'm not sure how you mean.

Where is the mold? Is it in the shower or on the walls? I ask because mold on the walls is best cleaned by a mold remediation specialist who can suss out the cause of the mold and stop it from coming back with ventilation options.
What about if your dishwasher already has mold in it?

I have black mold in my washer in the door it’s a front loader. I’ve both bleached and used biocide 100 and scrubbed. It’s still there!!! I am really ill from this. I know you’re no doctor so we won’t discuss what I should do health wise but any ideas on my nasty washing machine? It doesn’t even work correctly water backs up inside the drawer where the soap and softener goes ( but no mold in there)
Leave the door open to air dry. And also try to d run a self clean cycle for the machine.

I’m getting mold on my windows from the condisation in the winters . How do I stop that ???
Mold thrives in damp, motionless air. So keep windows areas dry and encourage air to circulate there. See if a dehumidifier is right for you.

I have a front load washing machine, I leave the door open but the rubber accumulates water at the bottom of the door and it’s black now. How do I clean the rubber without ruining it? I always clean mold in the bathroom with bleach but the rubber will get damaged if I use that.

Is it possible you have a moisture problem in your game room? If you do, I'd get a dehumidifier or some DampRid amzn.to/34fbhDV in there right away to suck the moisture out of the air. If your discs and cases have mold other areas or items may as well. If it gets out of control you may need to call a mold remediation specialist. Mold can make you really sick.

You can use a solution of water and bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Apply it to the affected area, let it sit for some time, then scrub and rinse thoroughly. Alternatively, you can also use this product - amzn.to/3QdWNgf (paid link*) Hope this helps!
Kill the mold easy just use citric acid kill all the mold. You can the 500 ml spray bottle put in citric acid four table spoons start the spray doesn’t come back do it again
