Honestly, how often do you carry a camera with the lens detached? Hardly ever for me. It would be better if you had the lens attached to the camera body and then see how they fit in those bags. That is practicality in reality.

The bellroy venture sling 6L is the best edc sling imo. It is by far the most usable, versatile and stylish sling compared to aer, heimplanet, alpaka, black ember, codeofbell, etc. This is the kind of sling that I can wear anywhere without being embarrassed by the looks of it. But it is not perfect in every way, if I had the chance to redesign it I would probably add an aqua guard zipper compartment on the back side to store my phone, passport, etc. The padding will just be moved to the back of the phone compartment. Since the front compartment is just too tight for a smartphone these days. The thing I really like about the venture sling is that it has a lot of pockets. But the pockets on the main compartment feels just like a slit pocket since it doesn't stretch which some people might like but for me I prefer a little bit of stretch for versatility. Adding an additional organization might be a great idea too especially a tech sleeve for an ipad or a bigger notebook. Nevertheless, this sling is definitely one of the best slings of all time but it is also one of the most expensive out of the bunch.

I couldn't agree more with you, I've been trying on all sorts of sling before i bought the bellroy venture 6L, this is perfect for what I need. as you said there's plenty of compartments, stylish, versatile, ykk aquaguard zippers, three year warranty and don't feel embarrassed of it's size this sling just ticked all the boxes for me, I definitely would say they should of added a zippered compartment at the back because phones these days are too big, this is the most expensive sling I ever bought but it's worth the investment. bellroy needs to make a tech sling for those EDC people, with stretchy pockets and more zipper compartments and to be more compact.

I like both the 6L and 9L but the larger one would be a bit bulky front carry. Of course the extra room in the 9L would be a plus. I tried out most of them at the shop but went with the 6L.

I love the look of all of them, but picked up the 9L specifically for taking to theme parks and on vacation. I’m able to hold a battery pack, a charger, a cable, two water bottles (mine and one of my kids’), a pen and notebook, sunglasses, and a pocket tripod easily. I could probably pack in a poncho as well.
If I was going for EDC and for myself I’d pick up the 6L in a heartbeat.

Love the look of all the slings and at one point had all three. I returned the 6L and 9L in favor of the 10L camera sling. (cost me almost $65 to ship back to Bellroy as they don't cover return shipping). I like to carry a mirrorless camera everywhere I go. The 6L is great for non camera edc, the 9L was great for either mirrorless camera carry or more EDC needs (ipad mini, sunglasses, etc). When the 10L was released, I jumped on it right away, and although it fits a mirrorless camera, 2 lenses and an Ipad mini, it's quite bulky, even with its lower profile. The extra padding is noticeable and useful, but I kinda wished I kept the 9L as that size was the sweet spot and slimmer. A 9L with a removable divider would be my ideal Bellroy Sling. Thinking about buying the 6L AGAIN for just EDC needs. I really like what Bellroy are doing, and making slings/camera slings that don't look like the boxy traditional slings that have been in production the past few years. BTW, also have the AER Day sling 3 Max Xpac and do like it a lot. It's a bitt taller in profile and slimmer, IMHO, and find myself using it more than the 10L when carrying my cameras. Hope this helps.

@@PackHacker2 Hey Eric, I just re-purchased the 6L as an EDC/no camera option. The AER max is really roomy and actually fits my Leica M11/with 35mm lens as well as an A7 lV with a prime lens. The only problem is that there’s no divider, but it’s not meant for two cameras. One Sony mirrorless camera with 24-70 GM fits great with room to spare. Gone for the 9L over the others, plus I chose it over the PD 10L V2. The peak is more suited for my XT4 + 16-55 lens but it looks way more bulky, whereas I like that this compresses itself based on your carry. It feels like this works better as a low profile all round sling for camera carry and non camera days (I’m 6’3 so hopefully it still looks fairly low profile on me haha).

For long urban adventures that last a full day I had to go with the 9l even though I like the minimalist look of the 6l. The 9l has the capacity to fit my 18oz water bottle and actually make use of the side pockets. With the 6l you would have to place thicker gear such as a gopro protective case on top of the water bottle and have it sliding around on top of the water bottle. I could have went
with a smaller bottle but I
think the potential to carry a larger bottle and actually make use of the side pockets for extra gear is a bit more versatile for longer adventures.

I bought both sizes expecting that the 6L would be enough for me. I was wrong. While the 6L does fit all my stuff, everything is more tightly packed together. It makes the bag fatter and more squished. The 9L is actually perfect. It spreads everything out. The pockets just fit items better. Also, because everything is spread out, it makes the bag thinner. I was actually planning on keeping both sizes, but just looking at them, I can't see a scenario where I would prefer to bring the 6L unless I was just carrying very small things.

I like my 9L, the only complaints I got is that I'd like the internal stretchy pockets divided more to the middle of the bag since its really hard to pull out a flashlight or a folding knife/multitool from especially the outer pocket. The main pocket has the same problem when Im storing pens on the side. The zipper on the outer pocket is too short to the sides and thus come in the way when I want to take stuff out. And the key lanyard is too short and would be better if it were made of stretchy shock cord.

I love all of the built-in organization! Really makes me reconsider my original Sling that's just a dump. I love the magnetic fidlock but the offset zipper really makes it tight to access everything if you're wearing it.
I actually love that these zippers go all the way, and in practice I feel like the self-compressing would close the corner gap. Thanks, you linked me over to this from your aer day 3 max review. I like how small they look for what they are and like the way they sort of cinch to be lower profile. How weather resistant is the material. Finding it curious that so many of these bags have pu coated zips only for part of the bag or don’t have as weather resistant material and wonder why. The pu coated zips seem harder to open and close but maybe that would make it hard for a person to subtly open it and take something. Are there any options to keep the lens secure from the camera separately in the 6L other than the stretch mesh pockets on the side? Primarily the reason I am looking at 6L over 10L is because of its compactness of being able to put it inside a bigger backpack.

Great review as ever. I had problems seeing the size comparisons as you were wearing a black T-shirt and your lighting was insufficient to show the black 10 L and blue 6 L when you were wearing them.
Good illustration of the ability to carry water bottles, what size were the Hydroflask and Camelbak that you used?

The black mini pen at 10:40 could be a Fischer Space Pen or a Rite in the Rain micropen. Not sure. The orange mini pen at 11:54 is definitely a Rite in the Rain micropen in blaze orange. 👍🏽 as a lover of pens, I’d highly recommend the Big I Design Ti Arto EDC pen in stone wash titanium (extra grippy). It’s much more useful since it take all the refills you can imagine. And it’s a very compact form factor, almost as small as the space pen.

After watching this it’s a big NO for buying one of these bags. What’s the point of waterproof zips when there’s gaps at both ends of the bag for water ingress ?.
Also wide open to pickpockets if worn across your back in an area bustling with people whilst travelling.

Hi! Great video! Can I demand 2 little things? I've read that there is 23 cm between dividers on 10L, but if you put down them (like around 8:40 min) you could have far more space, is it correct? My longest lens is 25 cm/10inch when mounted with my ML. Another question, if you put a lens vertically (around 19 cm) could I close the zip this 10L is too rigid? Thank you!!!

I am returning the 10L camera sling. Clearly I should have paid more attention to the review as well as checking your website where this bag is list as NR (not rated). While the aesthetic and material are very good there are several things lacking as you mention. The padding is on the thin side, the fixed dividers are limiting, and there is no space for an iPad. I would also suggest that you confirm that this bag is 10L. I assume this is an approximation within a plus or minus, but it is physically smaller than other 10L bags I have from Peak Design and Moment. Perhaps you could look at the published dimensions for these three, or similar, camera slings whenever you do your next camera bag review. I appreciate the effort you and your team put into these videos. They are always excellent.

I do not like zipper openings, it should be a lid that opens away from the body, some bags are designed so that the lid becomes a shelf where the gear can stand secure when you fx will change Lens or battery.
