Best driver in 2023 is the best driver from 2022 with discount
😂exactly what won it last year ?
600 bucks is some serious splash 💦 for one golf club , I just bought a 2021 premium low spin head that fits on a shaft I already have for 100 bucks
Yep any driver from past 3 or 4 years on sale is the best, save some cash and you still have an awesome big dog.
@@matthewdale956 ping g425
@@mathieudupuis1049 ah thanks ,seems about right ,I need to try that now it’s discounted 🍻
I never buy new drivers but I did pick up a TSi2 for $200 and I'm very excited to try it. It's been too wet to play in Alabama but I'm hoping I'll be able to play next week. I think I got an outstanding deal coming from the 917 d3 that I use to play.
Really wait this content! Thank u so much!
I'm very conflicted on what driver to get. I have hit the paradym triple diamond and the ping G430 LST, and i must say for me both of them feel great. I have issues with my spin control and found with these two models I was able to bring that way down and get the proper spin I needed for max distance. But I'm still very undecided on what one I should go with. my old driver is ping G425 max, and there is a couple things I don't like about it, one is the sound off the club face, and two I have a hard time controlling my spin rates. I have tried a couple different shafts to see if that would help, but unfortunately I couldn't get it under control, and that why im looking to upgrade
I ended up getting a Ping G430LST. My old driver, a Taylormade R9 that I’ve been able to bomb it however I need to since 2009, finally stopped working due to a dent in the face and the seam from where the face insert was installed started showing. I haven’t played with it yet due to weather but the feel reminds me a lot of my r9. I can’t wait for this weather to get better for me to play some
Be interested to know how you get on with it 🤔
Great video. Thanks!!!
Before watching this video Mr Tapping I wanted the Rogue driver, WHY well my way I select a club is looks . then it's playability. THEN COMES THE STING PRICE. Well I tried the drivers except PARDYM because of colour as you say in this video. Although the ping upside-down looks great and they fitted me with the correct shaft I did not think for me a senior the turbolaters look good , but I will see end of next week .

Could you tell much difference between the Cobra from the previous year to this year? 👍
What brand would you say has made the biggest leap from previous model? I have hit the Carbon Wilson and think it has a real jump in feel and looks from the D9
I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. They are very helpful and you are sincere.😊
Thank you so much!
I would like to see a comparison where the drivers are hooked up to Iron Byron and see how they perform. Are there any such videos out there?
what were your thoughts on the Mizuno Drivers ? I have narrowed my choice down to them and the Stealth 2 standard.....your thoughts ? i am unable to go for a fitting this year so i am going off my last driver fitting specs.... I am 58 years old...swing speed 90-94 mph....9-11 handicap....hit a high fairly straight ball..currently using a PXG Gen 5 XF with a Tensei blue raw SFW 55 regular shaft....spin is 2500-3000....want a shaft with mid-high launch I think...mid spin.... any ideas what might suit me ? ( ventus TR Red 5 , Kai'li red or blue , )...thx ..look forward to your response.....GREAT REVIEW by the way....cheers from Canada
Thanks very much. All our individual reviews are on the Golf Monthly website!
Vernon. Did you ever go for or try the stz230? Im in the same boat as you iv just got the 220 but and it's unhit yet I didn't get fitted and I think the shaft might be too light and whippy 50g R I really don't know what to do with it I need advice I think I may sell it and wait for the 230 as the reviews mention increased ball speeds and I can at least get the shaft that suits and not guess like I did with the 220
Hardly mentioned the cobra but must be value for money as £100 cheaper than the other drivers
I love the ping g 430 lst. Best drivers I ever owned’
Will the fairway reviews be up soon? I’m holding off ordering the new ones
Yes - already shot, just being edited!
@@GolfMonthly I’m really looking forward to it pal. I’m stuck between Aerojet, G430 and TSR2.
@@TheBrenegade Callaway fairway blew everything away in my fitting
Great review but no Cleveland or Wilson which would have come in with the PXG on price.
Take a look at last year's 'Best Drivers' video. We covered the Wilson Launch Pad in there. There's also a review of the Cleveland Launcher XL on then GM website.
Seve Sellors - Cleveland and Wilson are more like the Yonnex on price.
I really don't care about having the very newest stuff or most fashionable. I have a very nice Cleveland Launcher that I got second hand this year and was lucky that it has both a senior shaft and draw bias. I play it very well (for me as I'm truly awful) and paid £189.
Shame you didn't have the Srixon ZX5 LS MKII driver to test also!
Yeah from every other review out there it's a rocket ship especially considering his favorite was the ping lst model.
I know there’s no real science behind it but can anyone give suggestions as too why I can’t get height on my driver? I use 2017 M2 slightly lofted up but cannot get the ball significantly airborne. I hit about 200 carry super low flight
Rule out variables first. Do you hit all your other clubs low...if no...then it's something about the driver and you with that driver = test other drivers to get more launch. If you hit all other clubs low then it's more about you and your delivery that may need lessons to fix, then when you get in a good place, that driver may start working better, but still test other drivers only at that point. So many people, me included, blame a club when in fact its the person holding the club needs fixing
Can you do this with the hybrids please?
No problem. We've already filmed this... It will be coming soon!
@@GolfMonthly great. Looking forward to it
I'm really confused the paradym had some of your fastest ball speeds and most carry and it also made it to your most consistent list. How is that not the one... And unfortunately I kind of want to titlelist and that also made it up there for you
Really need a system that measures TOTAL distance? Cobra might? be the over-all best with1800 spin?
Yes, we often get that data too but again, you'd need to take that with a pinch of salt (as with all the numbers) as total distance depends on ground conditions.
Have the new 2023 drivers been upgraded to the new COR limits of.930 ?
No but they have larger sweet spots
Our taste couldn’t be more opposite. Ping g430 lst and callaway paradym are bottom two for me in looks. Ping is so busy looking. And Callaway - particularly the triple diamond with no alignment looks terrible. I also think all of the Callaways look too triangular in shape.
which ones do you find better ? I Like the TSR2 , Stealth 2 , Mizuno STZ
Fair enough, it is subjective... Which ones do you like?
@@GolfMonthly mizuno and cobra look the best to my eye. Keep it simple. And titleist is always reliably classic.
@@GolfMonthly I Like the TSR2 , Stealth 2 , Mizuno STZ
shoulldn't this be done with all the same shaft? cause for those who say that shafts dont make a difference,,then there wouldn't be so many different shafts ,,,, shafts are the engine of the club
Hi Chris Great Video 👍, lots of Data to check out👌, great to hear your unbiased testing thoughts, liked the Ping Driver you picked, being a senior golfer would to see slower swing speed review around 80mph testing some HL & light weight Drivers😃, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer
and also the Stealth HD driver and Mizuno STX driver for 80-94 mph swing speeds
Great idea - it's something we have been meaning to do for a while...
The manufacturer is going to the use of carbon on the face of clubs so your club will wear out quicker and you have to buy another.
I think it's fair to say, no one is getting fitted properly in 30-60min windows with the choices this year. Folk are mostly going to walk in with 3-4 manufacturers in mind based on YT videos, and they'll get fit with those. Sadly, the one that will be perfect, might not get a look.
For most people, if they had 3/4 manufacturers in mind, they should be able to find something that works well (with a good fitting)
@@geoffcox9582 I’m actually going to see what the new stealth is like ya bunnit. Don’t like an opinion? Maybe the internet isn’t for you. :)
Always remember it’s your swing that makes the difference. You can have the most beautiful, expensive driver in your bag but if your swing is crap, or not up to scratch then you’re just wasting your money. Spend the money having swing lessons, practice, practice, practice then when comfortable get fitted for a driver suited for your swing.
Very true. We always advocate lessons too... Having said that, the excitement of putting a new club in the bag is hard for most of us to resist!
Testing drivers with cheap, rock-hard range balls😂😂😂…then talking about feel😂😂😂
Dispersion?
Until you see the PRICE$$$$$$$$$$
The looks are the last thing I'm interested in.
I'm the same I love to buy drivers that I hate the look of
I agree, but looks can matter. I noticed the high glossy heads sometimes reflect too much and makes it difficult to see when swinging.
Paid commercial.
Seriously? You broke them down by the crown color shade and looks?? Go away!
