😍 such a joy to the eyes. You can definitely see the seasons in your art. It has also piqued my interest in Fodder School....It makes such a difference seeing what you have created. Thank you for sharing ...
I'm so happy that these reflections gave you some insight into the Fodder School process. I think the Fodder School offer is a really inspirational one, shifting from teacher to teacher throughout the year, so even if one month doesn't appeal, the next almost certainly will. And you may find, as I did, that sometimes when you're least expecting it, a project will set fire to your creative imagination! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Oh my word!!, I absolutely love your color palette! Everything is marvelous, I especially like the little houses and the Berry Fodder along with the Botanicals. Thank you so much for showing all of us who are Artists, your inspiring works of Lovelies!! This trip down your fantastic creative world was wonderful!!💗
So happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year of creating... and of course I'm so happy that you enjoyed the houses from my own teaching month the best!! I hope you'll enjoy exploring a bit further on the channel too. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Hello Alison! WOW… AMAZING… LOVE IT ALL… I’ve watched your video 3 times as well as clicking on your links to watch ALL of the other Fodder School 3 Hop videos. I figured by then the words would form in my brain to share an intelligent thought but alas I too often experience brain fog these days especially when the right words are difficult to find to begin with because sometimes (I believe) there just are no words to adequately express deep thoughts, feelings, and emotions. BUT… yep… I’ll fumble through with an abundance of words to convey at least some of what’s inside. Firstly, the cohesiveness of your projects is phenomenal- if all the projects from all the videos I watched were put together, I think I would be able to pull out yours from the rest as your calm, peaceful, unique style is so evident in your work. I love how you stayed true to your style aesthetic while still embracing new/different techniques from other artists. Kudos to you for completing 10 out of 12 months of projects while also living a busy life of balancing work & play. I love all of your projects so much… as soon as I try to pick my top 3 favorites it ends up top 5, then 6… etc. I’m encouraged to pull out the card deck I had started to work on it this weekend and I’m excited about your houses which for me would become bird houses in honor of my Grandma who made real birdhouses and had them throughout her yard and field and… as a family, we have often watched, fed, and talked about birds. Your Garden ATC’s are beautiful! I would hold onto them for sure. Despite them being called ATC’s, I love the size of them - they’re a perfect size for a daily challenge to be creative. I used to do pocket scrapbooking so sometimes I use 3”x4” instead of 2.5”x3.5” as I have pocket pages to house them - I use 6”x8” albums a lot and have pages that hold 4 cards on each side so I’ll often create them using similar supplies to coordinate together. I recently purchased a big box of ATC letter size storage sleeves from amazon - not sure what I was thinking! LOL Your word, “ACCUMULATION” really hit home although for me it has become a negative thing as I’ve purchased more supplies than I can conceivably use as well as causing paralysis deciding which thing to play with when I love it ALL… there are times when I wish I had developed a certain style and stuck with it instead of being drawn to such a wide variety of styles. I’ve always been creative doing something from as far back as I can remember - I even remember using straws as knitting needles when I was little! OK… enough of memory lane… I’m sorry I get so long winded at times and I’m not very good at being concise and to the point but take the long way around. Looking forward to tomorrow’s Few Minutes of Fun video… have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and responses... I'm honoured that my Fodder projects had such an impact on you. I haven't had a chance to watch all the other videos yet (you're ahead of me on that), but I'm really looking forward to indulging myself once the to-do list is a bit shorter. I think it's a lovely thing to continue to cast your creative net far and wide... there's always so much to discover and explore. Staying open to new learning curves is my favourite way to make my way through life. I hear you loud and clear on the accumulation of supplies though, and how that can stop you from making anything at all. That's why I often pull out a few ingredients, pretty much at random (or probably following some inner urge that I don't examine too closely), and let those lead my creative journey for that hour or day or week... How lovely to hear about your grandmother's birdhouses. I feed our birds (my mother says it's the best bird restaurant in South Bohemia!) but so far haven't got as far as adding housing to the care package. Several people in my Fodder class created houses with little birds on - birdhouses, of course - and it was such a treat to see those come to life. I hope you have a creative weekend filled with autumnal colour. Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and support of the channel.
Thank you so much for making me smile with that comment... it's pretty messy organization, but in a creative way. Looking through the papers is enough to give me ideas in itself!
Dear Alison, thanks again for sharing these beautiful projects, combined with your passionate take on it ❤ (and also youre confessions and honesty hahaha, what a joy gardening is ❤)
So happy you enjoyed revisiting the Fodder year with me... it was quite the journey! And yes yes yes to the gardening. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Wow! So beautiful, full of thrushes! 🤩🤩 I also accumulate a lot and do not know how to throw it at myself thinking that one day I would use the colors, the drawings I put on paper. As you say they are waiting to find their life with other papers. As every day I go to my studio/workshop, sometimes without inspiration, but I try to stick to it and do something anyway, so I accumulate a lot of papers that have their own lives and I don’t want to throw them away, It would be like the damned not to blossom one day... It’s a bit silly and many do not really understand, this is my way of creating, I need to have plenty of things around me. A workshop too well organized does not suit me for my imagination to work, becomes dull. I really love your work and the way you operate, that’s a bit like me I think. Thank you for your artistic privacy, it’s very formative.😊❤ Have a good weekend Allison
Thank you for that thoughtful comment, sharing your processes. I agree - too much tidiness doesn't allow for inspiration! There's a great quote from Einstein: "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, then what is an empty desk a sign of?" !! Hope you have a creative weekend.
Thank you so much Alison for showing and sharing all this gorgeous and sumptuous artwork and the finished pieces too. I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ and adore all of this stunning and beautiful work. 😮. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity and talent too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Mags - I'm really happy you enjoyed dipping in to the creative inspiration coming out of the Fodder classroom over the last year. It was quite a journey, as you can see!!
It was an amazing creative journey... and it was definitely one of the major draws of being a teacher on the course that I got to play along with all the other teachers' months!!
I could listen to you all day Alison!!!! You are an incredible mixed media artist and it was a pleasure and an honor to have you as a beloved Fodder School instructor!!!!
I love all your projects and your enthusiasm and love of learning. The creative inspiration with Fodder School and other grouped workshops is so amazing. It is a wonderful use of modern technology and communication. Why have I been recycling these wonderful mailing boxes? I need to reuse them!!!!! And fruit crates!
So much of my craft storage is recycled or repurposed... it does help cut the costs! And some of my fruit crates do get decorated, or at least painted white. The ones you see here are still en route to that destination!! I'm delighted you're enjoying the projects I'm sharing, and yes, there's nothing I love quite so much as a learning curve... always more to explore and discover. Thanks so much for watching and for such a lovely , thoughtful comment.
Thank you for sharing your journey this past year. I joined FS3 late in the year so still have all this fun to look forward to! Your projects are amazing and say so much about you.
Thank you so much, Nancy... that's lovely to hear. It's great that you are still in the midst of all the creative inspiration of FS3. Do tag me in whenever (if ever) you're at the point of sharing anything from my classes on Instagram (where I'll see it almost immediately) or Facebook (where I might not spot it for months, but I will eventually!). I love keeping up with what people are creating in the classes.
Thank you so much! I think the Fodder School offer is a really inspirational one, shifting from teacher to teacher throughout the year, so even if one month doesn't appeal, the next almost certainly will. And you may find, as I did, that sometimes when you're least expecting it, a project will set fire to your creative imagination!
I absolutely love your Garden ATCs Alison, and I think it's wonderful that you want to keep them for yourself! You've shared your joy with us in this video and all throughout the course! XO
Thank you so much, Sarah... I'm looking forward to some proper hopping time soon. I've just got back from a crazily busy work trip to the UK (and for half the time I had no internet access at all... grrrrr! aaagghh!!!) so I'm only just starting to catch up on all kinds of admin - art and life! I'll indulge myself in the Fodder Hop as soon as I can catch my breath, and I'm so looking forward to seeing your video. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much 4 sharing all that beauty 💙...I love the botanicle cutouts they make...I loved everything you made...as always...only an other creative person knows hiw precious every little material is ⚘️⚘️⚘️
So happy you enjoyed the journey through the Fodder year - it was quite the journey, as you can see. And yes, every scrap is ready and waiting to be used... one day!
Absolutely amazing Alison, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to produce such beautiful creations. It looks like you’ve had a very fun year. 💕
❤I love the inspiration of seasonal colors for a pallet! I love all the colors 😂, it’s always been hard to pick a pallet for me. Thanks for sharing, I started Fodder School 3 and crashed as busy work and family life took over. I think you have given me the inspiration to pickup where I left off, somewhere near the start!😅
Oh, I'm so pleased you're inspired to dive back in to the Fodder inspiration... it will always be there for you, so when life gets in the way, just breathe and return when you can! The shifting seasons have always dictated my palette, and that wasn't going to change for FS3!! Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment. Have fun with all those wonderful classes (whenever you get to them!).
Happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my year of Fodder... there really is so much to learn, explore and discover when you have twelve different teachers over the course of a year! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you, Ellie - it was definitely a major draw of being one of the teachers on the course that I would get to play along with all the inspirational classes each month!
Thank you, Julie - it was definitely a major draw of being one of the teachers on the course that I would get to play along with all the inspirational classes each month!
Hi Alison. Hilde De Winne here. I’m overwhelmed! But in the nicest possible way. I thought I was accumulating stuff 😅 haha - i don’t throw much in the bin either. Thank you for sharing all the Fodder projects you participated in. I especially loved your deck of cards. ♥ But also that Portfolio!! Oh my Gosh!! The ATC’s, your Houses…and I will admit that sometimes I can’t part with some creations either 🙃 Unfortunately, I’m not creating much these days other than mass producing cards for a good cause, but that, and watching your soothing videos help me keep my sanity. Hubby was treated for Non Hodgkin Lymphoma a year ago (and also way back in 1992!) and yesterday new biopsies needed to be taken, so, once again, life is in limbo for me. Thank you so much.
It sounds as though you have had more than enough to cope with over the last year. I can only hope that the latest tests don't bring more bad news. It's heartwarming that you are creating cards for good causes even in the midst of your own troubles - and I'm so pleased to hear that my videos are an additional support alongside that creative outlet. Thank you for that huge compliment. Thank you also for your lovely words about my Fodder School offerings - I'm happy you enjoyed a glimpse of the journey through the year. Remember to keep breathing and take care of yourself as well as your husband. Sending good wishes to you both.
So happy to hear you found this enlightening... the Fodder School offer is a really inspirational one, shifting from teacher to teacher throughout the year, so even if one month doesn't appeal, the next almost certainly will. And you may find, as I did, that sometimes when you're least expecting it, a project will set fire to your creative imagination! Thank you for watching and commenting.
What a fabulous video. I am impressed beyond words at the amount you've created and have no idea how you get it all done each month which is the reason I didn't join in. Maybe when I'm retired and hopefully have time on my hands ! Your fodder year has been extraordinary. Thanks for sharing . Helen xx
Oh, Helen - thank you for that lovely comment. Yes, it was definitely full-on in terms of time and mental (creative) energy... so I think you're absolutely right to save up the idea of joining in for a rainy (retirement) day!! Hope all is well with you... lovely to hear from you here. Hope you had decent weather for Kew yesterday, and happy Sunday to you.
I really liked the inspiration card deck! You did an amazing job with that. I never thought of saving the little wooden boxes that my Brie comes in here in the states. I’m sure that I have a circular die that is slightly smaller than the box. Thank you so much for the videos I truly enjoy them.😊
Yes, that was definitely one of my favourite months, and probably the closest to my own style of creating, so I didn't have to think very hard about it. I keep every wooden food container I encounter (so much better than plastic!!). Very happy that you are enjoying the videos so much - thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Wow wow Wow -I adore your fodder school projects!!! They are outstandingly beautiful! I just want to touch them! And then that concertina folio with the daisies was so amazing. It should be made into a book for sale; published. It’s just beautiful and how well it went with all of your projects. I absolutely love them. They are treasures!! Thank you for showing us!!
Oh, what a wonderful comment to read - thank you so much for that. You've put the biggest smile on my face. I wonder who would like to publish my daisy concertina!!
Oh my goodness, so much loveliness! My eyes are so stimulated by all of this beauty! It all just makes my soul happy! I am working through Fodder 3 and have joined 4! I loved your month, and am placing my little houses together! So fun!❤
So brilliant to know you have been enjoying FS3... tiny houses and all! It really has been an extraordinary year. And I hope you'll have a wonderful time in FS4 too! Thanks so much for your always lovely comments.
it's really awesome all the projects are stunning, I love these color combos. I am glad that II had an opportunity to learn from you in FODDER SCHOL, Thank you.
I think we all work in ways that we are ready for, and we are where we are on our own personal learning curves! Join me in flicking through some of my older art journal pages in the Books Books Books series and you'll see I've been on a substantial journey myself... but there's almost nothing I love as much as a learning curve, and I know I'm still travelling and discovering and exploring - and that's the greatest joy for me. Aspiration is what leads us onwards (and sadness definitely doesn't, so stick with the aspiring!!). Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and for your thoughtful comment.
Thank you Alison, I learned so much more about Fodder School form your glorious abundance of gorgeous projects and extra fodder. You presentation was also wonderful. I just went out this morning to mow the grass and ended up spending 8 hours in the yard and garden, so I understand that passion too!
Thanks so much for that, Debbie... if you take a peep into some of the other videos linked in the description, you'll see that the Fodder method can really suit all creative styles. As people did with my Very Berry House classes, participants can take the inspiration and techniques offered and really make it their own! Definitely an inspiring year... so happy you enjoyed seeing some of the results.
Thank you for sharing your creative year with us. I always admired your work in theatre and film (perhaps a fan woman). And now I get a whole new area to be inspired by you! In this video I was struck by you not remembering what was in one of your boxes which I relate to as it is a very frequent event for me. There are so many stashes of various kinds of fodder in my studio that I sometimes get tied in knots about creating new things before finding uses for more of the things I’ve already done. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by your fodder collection?
Happy you enjoyed exploring the Fodder journey. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment. I think forgetting what stuff is in which box is probably a sign of having too much stuff in too many boxes! I wouldn't say I feel overwhelmed by it - I know it's there if I want it, and I don't feel guilty about how long it waits before it gets used. Sometimes I come back to tag backgrounds made years ago, and suddenly they let me know they are ready for the next steps.
It really offers such a wealth of varied inspiration. It was definitely one of the major draws of being a teacher on the course that I got to play along with all the other months and teachers!!
So much inspiration, absolutely amazing! I would love to join at some point, currently I’d be too stressed out to enjoy it, but hopefully I’ll get to a better place in life soon 😊
I'm sure the right time will come at some point, and the creative inspiration available in Fodder School will add to the recovery process from whatever is causing your current stress when that time comes. Happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year. It was definitely one of the main draws of being a teacher on the course that I would get to play along each month! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Wow, obviously a seriously good artist. Not like me, a clumsy neophyte, struggling with overcoming the blank page, nor when I look at the awkward finished product I threw together in a hurry! I'm going to have to spend about a decade working up to your level. But you make it sound worthwhile and optimistic, so I'll keep going. 😅
Thank you very much for that lovely thoughtful comment... but yes, it's really time and playing that make up what I'm now creating. And yes, it's about a dozen years since I started my creative journey in the visual arts, so a decade sounds about right!! (There are various videos here in the Books Books Books series - ua-cam.com/video/TYqLY1mSDsI/v-deo.html - which dive back down the years to early journalling spreads or older makes, and they show it's been a journey... or take a look at the early years of my blog www.alisonbomber.blogspot.com for further proof!) But I absolutely stand by it being completely and utterly worth the time I've spent (and the money on supplies!) - especially since the time I spend on it is all about play and exploration and discovery, and about a state of flow and creativity... so it's uplifting too, and all about learning and growing, which is my favourite thing to be doing. All of which adds up to - YES, definitely keep going!!
That Inspiration deck is truly an inspiration...small, manageable projects. Could you be so kind as to let us know of the colors used in that deck? Stunning!❤
I'm so happy to hear that you love the card deck, thank you. I'm afraid I don't have a full record of the colours I used, except that I know the blues and greys and turquoises and the white were all from my curated sets of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics (see more about those here - alisonbomber.blogspot.com/2023/07/a-very-special-fodder-school-paperartsy.html - the paints can be bought individually too). At least some of the purple tones are Daniel Smith's Moonglow, in the form of a watercolour paint stick, but I'm honestly not sure about anything else. There are a few more details about the other ingredients as well as lots of close-ups in this blogpost - alisonbomber.blogspot.com/2024/01/january-joy-in-fodder-school.html - though obviously nothing about the process, as that is all part of Megan's class. I hope that's of some help at least... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much - I'm delighted you like them. And yes, you can absolutely register for Fodder School 3 at any time, and get lifetime access to the twelve months of project workshops (a different teacher each month, with two rounds of classes each month - Make Fodder and Use Fodder - along with bonuses added by the class teacher as well as by other teachers inspired by the month's work) as well as all twelve classes from the 2023 Fodder Challenge... so there's oodles of inspiration. Find all the details here: willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-school-3 and just so you know, Fodder School 4 is just about to start (but I'm not teaching on that one!!). ATC stands for Artist Trading Card - a piece of artwork 3.5 x 2.5 inches in size, designed for trading with other artists in exchange for one of their ATC artworks. Or, like me, you can just make things in the tiny size and keep them all for yourself!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting - I hope you'll be inspired to explore further here on my channel.
The little number clips are by Tim Holtz as part of his Idea-ology range... I've had mine for a long time, so I'm not sure whether they are still produced as part of the line. I'm just going to have a quick Google for you... Nope, I've been having a look, and I can't even find them as discontinued ones, I'm afraid. I keep my metal bits in trays, so I don't have the box any more to check what they were called, but I'm 99% sure from that searching that they aren't available any longer - sorry! Happy you enjoyed seeing the fruits of my Fodder year! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Alison I am a bit obsessed about your little houses. I have joined the Fodder School (Oct to Nov) will it show me how to make the little houses and if not, have you got a tutorial video you can direct me to, please 😊😊
If you mean you are doing the current Fodder Challenge, then no, I'm afraid I'm not a tutor on the upcoming Fodder School 4, so no classes from me during the Fodder Challenge (but I hope you're having a great time with what is on offer!). I'm delighted you love the houses. But the house tutorials are part of Fodder School 3, and I'm afraid are currently only available there, so you'd need to look at signing up for FS3 to get the how-to classes. You get lifetime access to the twelve months of project tutorials with twelve different mixed media artists and teachers, as well as oodles of bonus content along the way. All the details are here if you're interested... willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-school-3 Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures oh I've enrolled in the wrong Fodder class. Im doing the current one. I even bought your stamps specifically to make the houses. Oh well 🤷 I will have to try and nut it out. Thsnk you for your lovely videos, I love your art. And thanks for teplying .
There will be oodles of inspiration coming your way in FS4... and lots of possibilities for using the stamps in so many other ways. Have a wonderful Fodder year!
Happy to hear you love it, thank you! In its original meaning, fodder is animal food. But in the world of Fodder School (and now spreading as a meaning in the wider world of mixed media), "fodder" or "collage fodder" means food for artwork! Any painted papers or doodles or sketches or fabric elements or metal ephemera or old book pages or bits of string or decorated paper (or anything else) which you might include in a collage could be referred to as "fodder"... it all goes into the mix to create something new. I hope that answers your question.
Yes - you can still buy Fodder School 3, and you will get lifetime access to all the twelve mixed media classes which ran from October 2023 to September 2024, including mine (as well as to all twelve of the 2023 Fodder Challenge classes)... a different teacher and project for each month. Find all the details for that here: willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-school-3 and Fodder Schools 1 and 2 from the previous years are also available to buy and follow the classes in your own time. Fodder Challenge 2024 is just beginning, leading up to Fodder School 4 - that is with twelve different teachers, and all those details are here: www.willawanders.com/fodder-school Hope that helps... I recommend them all, but obviously 3 is my favourite, since I'm one of the teachers on that one!!
What a stunning year of creativity! Your colors reach into my soul. I have to ask, what do you do with all of this? Do you sell on a website or in a gallery or craft fair atmosphere?
Thank you so much for that lovely compliment - what a beautiful thought about the colours. So far, I haven't really branched into selling... that's a whole other level of organisation and planning! I have storage crates and display shelves around the studio, so things usually find a place to live one way or another. (So as you saw in the video, the March project is up on the wall and, as I mentioned, the April quartet are on display on some other shelves... it varies.) I may make my way towards selling at some point but, as you heard with me talking about the ATCs, there are things I would find it pretty hard to let go of! Having said that, I am generally far more interested in process than in product. It's the process of making that is the point for me, not the end result. So maybe one of these days I'll get my head round the idea that other people might want to own some of those results!!
Hi, I'm a bit late asking your opinion on fodder school. I've only been into mixed media and "art" for about 5 yrs, so I'm feeling a bit intimidated about joining this year long class. Do they have one teaching lesson, and then you have that month to do it? Did you find you had to spend a lot on buying new supplies necessary for the monthly projects? I see where I can still sign up, and watch the videos from the previous year. Do you think a newbie, like myself, woild be better off doing older classes rather than if a new class in 2025 is offered? Does the expertise one has learmed tend to be expected in sunsequent years or can one jump in on any year? Sorry so many questions, concerned about getting in over my head. Thanks!!
There's so much more detail over on Wendy's site about what's involved... follow the link in the description below this video. There are two main classes in each month - "Make Fodder" at the start of the month, usually sharing some techniques and first stages, and then "Use Fodder" appearing halfway through the month, and usually using what's been made in some sort of project. In addition to the main teacher's two sessions each month, other teachers will add bonuses inspired by and springing off from the ideas and techniques in the main class. But you absolutely don't have to keep up with that schedule, whether you are following a previous Fodder School or the current one. You take exactly as much time as you want, or skip classes if you're not enjoying them. It's entirely in your hands. The current year is already running - it's usually from October to October, so if you join now, you'll be joining in with the second or third teacher of the year (I'm not one of the teachers this year, so I'm not so deeply in the loop!). The advantage (if you count it as one) of doing a current year is that the Facebook group will be a lot more active with people doing the same projects as you at the same time, offering ideas and feedback. But you would get access to the earlier FB groups if you did earlier years of Fodder School, so all that would still be there - and there would still be people adding stuff, just not as "live" or in such great numbers. It's not cumulative knowledge - each month, each teacher teaches whatever they are teaching from scratch - with beginners as well as advanced crafters in mind. But I think they probably schedule the classes through the year so that more complicated projects or techniques might turn up later in the year. But if you're doing a previous Fodder School, you'll have access to the whole lot at once, so it's up to you what order you do it in. As to whether you buy more stuff - again, that's up to you. If you like the look of what's going on in a project, you might want to purchase some specifics to stick close to the brief. For the most part, I made do with alternatives I already had, but sometimes I added to my stash. If you've been playing with mixed media for as long as five years, I don't think you'd have any problem at all following any of the classes I experienced during Fodder School 3. Check out who's teaching on which year and what the projects look like... as that might well be the deciding factor on which year you want to buy. Unfortunately, you've just missed the Black Friday bundle sales which Wendy was offering... Hope that's of some help.
I've got two sewing machines and haven't used them in ages! What are the beautiful greens you used for your ATCs? If you can bear to part with any, I would love to trade. :)
I don't think I kept a record of the colours I used - I was absolutely in the zone following Sarah Gardner's class for the layered papers. I do know that they were multitudinous - many many different greens in many many different mediums! You can see what I mean if you take a look at the IG posts of the papers before they got torn up and collaged... instagram.com/p/C7_k-zloULn/ and instagram.com/p/C8KXRLYoT6h/ There's no way I can remember what I used, sorry!! And as I said in the video, I don't think these ATCs are going to be going anywhere... I've got one small sewing machine which I would dearly love to use more often, but I break out in a nervous sweat every time I even try to thread it!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting... much appreciated.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures You're very welcome! I see what you mean about the papers. Believe me, I get nervous when I try to use my sewing machine too! I think that's why neither of them are not out on my work table.
No need to apologise... it's a word that has been borrowed from elsewhere, so no reason you should know - unless you'd already bumped into Fodder School over the last three years!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Dianne.
Oh my word!!, I absolutely love your color palette! Everything is marvelous, I especially like the little houses and the Berry Fodder
along with the Botanicals.
Thank you, I would never have guessed that 😀
I'm not sure what you were guessing - but you're welcome!
LOL
Your word, “ACCUMULATION” really hit home although for me it has become a negative thing as I’ve purchased more supplies than I can conceivably use as well as causing paralysis deciding which thing to play with when I love it ALL… there are times when I wish I had developed a certain style and stuck with it instead of being drawn to such a wide variety of styles.
So gorgeous. Everything just goes together and I love the color tones you used in your fodder. That supermarket crate is just wow. Just so gorgeous ❤
So happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year... so much inspiration in all those classes, and it was a privilege to be one of the teachers.
I LOVE looking at all your amazing fodder, finished pieces, everything you create!! Just lovely! 😊
So happy to hear that... thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Holy moly - what creativity (and organization)!!!
Wonderful to see all this marvelous works! ❤
Thank you - it was quite a year!!
Thank you for sharing! What an awesome collection.
Happy you enjoyed taking a look back at my Fodder year - thanks for your lovely comment.
Wow! So beautiful, full of thrushes! 🤩🤩
I also accumulate a lot and do not know how to throw it at myself thinking that one day I would use the colors, the drawings I put on paper.
Thank you for your artistic privacy, it’s very formative.😊❤
Have a good weekend Allison
Thank you for that thoughtful comment, sharing your processes. I agree - too much tidiness doesn't allow for inspiration! There's a great quote from Einstein: "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, then what is an empty desk a sign of?" !!
Hope you have a creative weekend.
I adore the cheese boxes made of balsa, I save them for projects like these, too. They're true ephemeral, so delicate and fragile.
I completely agree... one of the problems with this whole creative malarkey is the hoarding it induces!
So beautiful. All of it. I just lovecthe colours, subject matter and botanicals. I love it all. X
That's so lovely to know - thank you very much for watching and for your thoughtful comment.
Oh my - thank you so much for sharing your beautiful art❤❤❤
You're very welcome - happy you enjoyed it!
This is soooooo absolutely outstanding! I think it’s your color choices. Love love love love them all!!
Thank you so much - those seasonal colours gradually shifting through the year make me happy, so I'm delighted they do the same for you!
SUCH FANTASTIC PROJECTS ❤❤❤
Happy you enjoyed seeing them, thanks so much!
Beautiful and your unique style shows through in each month!❤just lovely
Thank you so much for that lovely comment.
Wow! You completed sooooo much! I really love your style and enjoyed seeing everything you created. Thank you for sharing. ❤
It was an amazing creative journey... and it was definitely one of the major draws of being a teacher on the course that I got to play along with all the other teachers' months!!
Oh my goodness, what a feast for the eyes. Thank you for sharing.
You're very welcome - I'm happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year.
I could listen to you all day Alison!!!! You are an incredible mixed media artist and it was a pleasure and an honor to have you as a beloved Fodder School instructor!!!!
I sure hope Alison will be back in a future Fodder School… She is one of my very favorites!!! Thank you for all the goodness you share💕💕💕
@@janebradley7949 we hope so too!!!
@janebradley7949 Thank you so much, Jane - I'm so happy to hear that.
That's a wonderful way of showing us all your fodderschool artwork.
Thank you, Tineke... it was an interesting process looking back at it all!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures 😃
Thank you for sharing your journey this past year. I joined FS3 late in the year so still have all this fun to look forward to! Your projects are amazing and say so much about you.
Thank you so much, Nancy... that's lovely to hear.
It's great that you are still in the midst of all the creative inspiration of FS3. Do tag me in whenever (if ever) you're at the point of sharing anything from my classes on Instagram (where I'll see it almost immediately) or Facebook (where I might not spot it for months, but I will eventually!). I love keeping up with what people are creating in the classes.
Beautiful things. One day I’ll join Fodder School. I love those cards!
Been looking forward to this one ❤❤❤
That's lovely to hear, thank you! Hope it lives up to expectations!!
And yes, every scrap is ready and waiting to be used... one day!
❤
I think you’re making me jealous,with all your stuff.Amazing,well done looks beautiful.🌺🌺🥰
Thank you... it was quite a year!
😍😍😍 menuda colección, una preciosidad todo
Muchas gracias!!
Absolutely amazing Alison, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to produce such beautiful creations. It looks like you’ve had a very fun year. 💕
Thank you, Cathy... it's definitely been a journey, and one that has brought me so much joy - not least in the connections made. Happy weekend to you.
Such a wonderful, creative journey we all adore to be part of....thankyou for sharing your inner, creative thoughts 😊
That's such a lovely comment to read - thank you so much.
WOW... such beautiful things🥰
Thank you very much - happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my year of Fodder!
Wonderful journey which really showed and shared your artistic journey with FS3. Gorgeous.
Happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Incredible how many amazing things you made😍
It was a pretty busy year, as you know!! Happy you enjoyed revisiting it here with me.
Thank you. I will looking into exploring fodder school and the challenges. Ypur acumulation is stunning ❤
Happy you enjoyed this glimpse into my year of Fodder... there really is so much to learn, explore and discover when you have twelve different teachers over the course of a year! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
What an amazing collection of beautiful projects. You seem to have really enjoyed this course and thank you for sharing what you made.
Thank you, Ellie - it was definitely a major draw of being one of the teachers on the course that I would get to play along with all the inspirational classes each month!
A beautiful journey through this Fodderschool year 😍🙏😘 thank you for sharing dear Alison 🙏😍
Happy you enjoyed it, Silvie - it was quite a journey, as you already know!! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your support here and on IG.
Super cool! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed this glimpse into my Fodder year - thank you!
Wowza, seriously? Gorgeous, gorgeous pieces. Thanks for sharing a group of inspirational pieces❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for that lovely comment - it put a big smile on my face!!
All that you do turns to gold 😂 it is amazingly beautiful
Thank you so much for watching and for such a lovely comment.
Sounds like an amazing year of art. Your projects are beautiful!
The ATC’s, your Houses…and I will admit that sometimes I can’t part with some creations either 🙃
Unfortunately, I’m not creating much these days other than mass producing cards for a good cause, but that, and watching your soothing videos help me keep my sanity.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures 🙏 so much. Deep, deep breaths until we know more… I so appreciate your kind comment.
Glorious abundance!!! Seeing all of your creations month by month gave me such a better understanding of Fodder School and what it has to offer.
Oh so wonderful!! Loved your class!
That makes me so happy to hear... thank you! I'm looking forward to being able to hop round the rest of the videos soon...
I do love your wonderful work and style. Your work moves me in such inspiring ways, so I thank you so very much.
Thank YOU for that lovely comment - what a pleasure to read such thoughtful feedback.
So enjoyed seeing what you created.
Happy to hear that, thank you!
Wow, you’re so creative! Everything is fabulous!! I’m totally inspired ❤
So happy to hear you are inspired by seeing what I got up to over the Fodder School year. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
it's really awesome all the projects are stunning, I love these color combos. I am glad that II had an opportunity to learn from you in FODDER SCHOL, Thank you.
That's such a lovely comment - thank you! I'm delighted you enjoyed the FS3 classes.
Wowzaaaa ❤❤❤
Thanks for that!!
Everything you make is so beautiful that (sadly) it makes my efforts look pretty basic....it gives me something to aspire to! Thanks for showing us x
Definitely an inspiring year... so happy you enjoyed seeing some of the results.
lovely projects. so inspiring
Thank you - it was quite a year!
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Happy you enjoyed it - thank you for watching and commenting, much appreciated.
Fabulous. I know I say that alot, but WOW!! is also too repetitive!! You are inspiring!! Thank you for sharing.
Repetition is fine by me... one of the best poetical word tricks, and great in art too! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment.
Wonderful video!
Thank you so much!
I so need to do Fodder School!
(There are various videos here in the Books Books Books series - ua-cam.com/video/TYqLY1mSDsI/v-deo.html - which dive back down the years to early journalling spreads or older makes, and they show it's been a journey... or take a look at the early years of my blog www.alisonbomber.blogspot.com for further proof!)
But I absolutely stand by it being completely and utterly worth the time I've spent (and the money on supplies!) - especially since the time I spend on it is all about play and exploration and discovery, and about a state of flow and creativity... so it's uplifting too, and all about learning and growing, which is my favourite thing to be doing.
These projects look incredible.
Is one able to register even though the year is finished?
What are ATCs?
@@w0rdsandp1ctures thank you for replying to me!
I will gift myself a registration for Christmas ❤️
What a brilliant self-gift! I hope you'll have a wonderful time with it.
Those clips in the fodder portfolio are really cool and useful. What are they called and do you have a source? All this fodder is wonderful! Amazing.
All the details are here if you're interested... willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-school-3
Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Absolutely love all of this! Question: what is “fodder”?
Happy to hear you love it, thank you!
In its original meaning, fodder is animal food. But in the world of Fodder School (and now spreading as a meaning in the wider world of mixed media), "fodder" or "collage fodder" means food for artwork! Any painted papers or doodles or sketches or fabric elements or metal ephemera or old book pages or bits of string or decorated paper (or anything else) which you might include in a collage could be referred to as "fodder"... it all goes into the mix to create something new. I hope that answers your question.
How did I miss this course! Is it still available?
Yes - you can still buy Fodder School 3, and you will get lifetime access to all the twelve mixed media classes which ran from October 2023 to September 2024, including mine (as well as to all twelve of the 2023 Fodder Challenge classes)... a different teacher and project for each month. Find all the details for that here: willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-school-3 and Fodder Schools 1 and 2 from the previous years are also available to buy and follow the classes in your own time.
Fodder Challenge 2024 is just beginning, leading up to Fodder School 4 - that is with twelve different teachers, and all those details are here: www.willawanders.com/fodder-school
Hope that helps...
I think that's why neither
of them are not out on my work table.

I'm sorry for prob sounding like a crazy person here lol but what is fodder??? 🤔 Plz & thanx!
✌🏼💕
No need to apologise... it's a word that has been borrowed from elsewhere, so no reason you should know - unless you'd already bumped into Fodder School over the last three years!

Just to say, I don't think Clare Hill will have got that message without an @ to "point it at her"... if you see what I mean!

Thank you!
