Recent trip from Houston to Dallas then on to Benton Ill. Round trip 1,893 miles. 21.4 mpg on my 2016 F150, 2 wd 5.0 Coyote. Now have a little over 96,000 mi. I Love my truck!
My 2016 MY / 5.0 L V8 / F 150 King Ranch with 73.000 MILES & a "high way gear" , does a little better than your 19.5 MPG, mostly 20 MPG at 70 miles per hour. I do plan on selling it soon, so thanks for the updated information. Jim.
Looking to buy a 2016 King Ranch 5.0 possibly tomorrow. Funny enough I recognize your route in the video, Go Cardinals! Would you recommend buying that same truck again? The one i am looking at has 58,000 miles and is very clean with one owner.
I averaged a hair over 20 MPG in my 2016 F150 5.0, 4X4 and that's in the winter (I just bought it). My ride to work is 50/50 highway and backroads. Max speed on the highway is 70 MPH, and backroads are 40 MPH. I also had a chance to drive a 2021 F150 with a 2.7 and a 10-speed 4X4 for a few days. Averaged a hair under 22 MPG and did not like how it shifted. Very happy with my 2016 so far.
Did realize cam phaser issues were on the 5.0 too. I’m not a Ford guy I thought that was just on the Triton motors like the 5.4. Over 3k to repair??? And only 80k miles. Ouch. Hope it will run a long time for you.
That’s funny I just looked at that exact truck today and I am considering buying that exact truck they want 34,000 for it I don’t has 89,000 miles. If I can get them to come down a little bit on it I’m probably gonna buy it and I love the engine and I’d like to six speed transmission. The hesitation that you’re talking about kind of concerns me hopefully it’s nothing major
They aren’t old. I’ve got a 1999 F150 XLT with the 5.4L V8 still rolling the highways as a daily driver. Recently hit 135k miles and it’s glorious to drive without all the modern electronic malarkey all these new trucks are full of.
These are probably some of the most reliable versions of the f150 with the 5.0 and the 6 speed
The 5.0 in a 15 to mid 17, 6 spd are the best F150’s ever!!!

Forgot to mention, rear end gear ratio 3.31
