lol, everyone's just going to use wireless transfer
Yup
I'll s till use the PC transfer with a new SD card cuz with higher GBs
COOL IS FOREVER NOT FOR A WHILE
NO THEY DONT IDIOT!!!!!!! AND YOUR ENGLISH SUCKS
Billy Bob never insult anyone on their broken english when you Americans can never tell the difference on their, there, and they're, to, too and two, and your, and you're
COOL IS FOREVER NOT FOR A WHILE
Sorry Dude, its just that Are DS's Dont Brake that Much
It's very specific that you need a "Phillips screwdriver", instead of just "screwdriver"
Because a flathead won't work.
Step 1: Wireless transfer.
Step 2: The system transfer is now complete. Enjoy using your New Nintendo 3DS XL!
Wait deadass? Why are they showing this convoluted method
It doesn’t work. It keeps saying “An error has occurred” whenever i select it from settings. Can you even do a wireless transfer anymore or is it discontinued?
Step 3: Where is Your 3DS XL?
@@EllieMiller510 no clue lmao. Wireless and low capacity are the better options
Step 4: Uh oh…
No thanks, I'll just do a wireless transfer.
Seams thougher to do the pc-transfer.. I hope the wireless will be simpler since I dont got a SD-thing to get the data over to my pc.. it probably just takes more time, I guess!
***** Even then, you'd have to have a pretty well rated set of SD cards, I'd hope the n3DS's wireless card was capable of more than the ~4MB/s a lot of crappy flash storage is rated for.
ToastyMozart Not sure If I got that.. but I should work from the get go? I dont need to get better SD cards for that to work?! ..anyways, yes, 4GB is little! I have avoided buying several games on my Wii U, since I dont got enough storage left.. they lose lots of money, with only 4GB/32GB for wii u!..
***** You'll probably want to buy a bigger MicroSD card then.
Ill do that to
Honestly the fact a process like this is still needed in 2016 is a bit ridiculous....Really need to get with the times Nintendo and start attaching downloads etc to Usernames with an online system instead of to hardware itself. I love my New 3DSXL and 2DS but seriously the transfer process is just stupidly outdated and anti consumer.
this really pissed me off. i hate how its not tied to your account. it should be tied to your account just like it is on 360, x1, ps3, psv, ps4. it makes absolutely no sense. what if i sold my 3ds and bought a new one? you're basically screwed. all your purchases would be gone forever.
Nintendo expects you to buy the new one first, then sell the old one. Your Nintendo Network ID account is the reason why they tie everything to the system, they lose the account stuff, it'd be a lot easier...
im still using the old 3ds xl, i bought pokemon omega sapphire from the nintendo digital shop, downloaded it into my sd card. So if i bought a new 3ds xl, can i have those games back again if i login my nintendo id on that new 3ds xl ?
Setsuna It's not quite that simple, you would need to perform a full system transfer with both handhelds in your physical possession (which takes awhile) and then you could use it on the new handheld but no longer the old one.
LiquidEvilGaming great, so i still can use my nintendo id from my old 3ds on my new 3ds xl right? because right now my nintendo on old 3ds has 60$ balance but i cant buy any games due to low memory on sd card and i planned to buy a new 3ds xl with 32gb..and im so confused on how to transfer from old to new 3ds xl without a wrong step.
Honestly, just moving your SD Card from one handheld and placing it into a different system would've been much faster and less painless.
in theory, yes. but this can damage new 3ds. or no, I don't know
like the wii and wiiu
@@P1nkNebula you can’t even do it lmao
@@zanedawson24 technically you can if you used a microSD to SD adapter on your o3ds xl
@@KoopatoadYTThe system you are transferring from doesn’t even have to be the 3DS XL. It can also be either the 3DS or 2DS
on step 9 wouldnt wireless transfer be easier?
+Riko Hitsuya It's easier. It just takes a little longer for the data to be transferred.
+Mirror D it's better if you go to work or go to the gym let the system Transfer do its thing then come home to a gift of enjoyment
+Chad Ellis (Wolfgang) Lmfao that's actually what I did the first time xD
+Mirror D So the wireless transfer will do everything the PC transfer does just slower right? It will tranfer my games, add-ons, saves, all of that?
+Mirror D Yeah. I'm not PC savvy so I'd be afraid that I'd mess something up lol. Thanks. (:
I wish there was a way to do it via the account only. My 3DS got stolen a while ago, and I lost a bunch of games, plus my Ambassador Program content. :(
EDIT: Good news, apparently I can!
Call Nintendo support, if you connected your Club Nintendo account to your 3DS, you can get it back on another 3ds, I did the same thing when my 3DS XL got stolen.
Did you lose digital games? You can always re-download then from the eshop using your account.
ChanceuPantsu Oh, awesome! I actually did register it on there, and I've got the serial number sitting on my desktop just in case. Glad to know they've got a system in place there.
Blaze Gamer Cool, I remember hearing you couldn't, but I'll give it a whack once I get a new system. I also lost some physical games, but I don't expect much can be done about that.
ohhh shocks!
Why Is it so complicated compared to the olde ways
I think the wireless transfer is easier, just takes longer, from what I have read! Not sure though!
***** It is. all you need is the two consoles and the sd cards that you're using. it does take awhile though. computer method is much quicker
***** The wireless transfer is most likely the easiest method. The data is just exchanged over wifi, no needing to take out SD cards, or transfer through a PC. The downside is that it can take 20 minutes to 2 hours to transfer, depending on how much data is being moved.
NekoyashaX Ok, thanks! Well, I got 2hours, so that wouldnt be a problem for me!:)
***** I guess, if its takes all night one would need to be aware of the power.. I only got one adapter, so I would have to change between the two.. but perhaps it will take less time!
Based on what I'd heard, I had concern that the transfer process would give me some difficulty, but it was a relatively painless (and not too lengthy) process to transfer about 8gb of data. That said, it's still way more complicated a setup than it needs to be to simply move my user info and saved files to a new system, and I also think the onscreen instructions could've provided a little more clarity as they walked me through the steps, since I did momentarily fear I might've made a mistake and lost all my data at one point before swapping out the cards.
Legit I was thinking about getting a new 3ds xl but now that I know its so hard to file transfer, I am probably not going to get it. I love Nintendo and all but they really have to fix this.
It doesn't look that hard. As long as you pay close attention to what you're doing, it should work well
It's Not hard. Just follow the video....
a much more simple way is to go into the system transfer and select transfer wirelessly, this way it does not require a computer
+KatsEatSushi it is actually easier to transfer this system than previous systems.
It's actually really simple, there's no other way to explain it without making it seem complicated. The only issue I have is trying to take the back pannel off without damaging the back.

Awesome, but I wish it didn't have to be XL. I'm not a big fan of "portable" things that can't fit in my pocket.
ditto. You'd think after they shrunk Game Boy (Game Boy Pocket), shrunk the DS (DS Lite) they would have offered the smaller New 3DS, go figure as Americans get fatter and fatter their giant fingers are apparently too big to play a New 3DS, so they only offer New 3DS XL...
Jude Law I'm a Mexican an a adult. This looks more for gamers from the 90s like me.
I just get bigger pockets :P that and a satchel. after all if im a pokemon trainer I need a bag like that.
wolflordjsww haha true
Ethan Berry But the regular 3ds can barely fit into people's pockets
Nintendo, you're telling me that you couldn't have a simple 3ds data transfer server, where someone could upload there data, give the old formatted 3ds system to lets say, gamestop to get the discount on the new 3ds,then just download the data on the new 3ds? whats the point of giving us a gamestop discount when we trade in our old system if we need both to tranfer data?
Gamestop stores will often let you buy the new system full-price, bring it home to do the transfer... then come back, return it, and re-buy it while trading in the old one for the discount. Ask them ahead of time.
ask Gamestop. the discount thing is most likely their idea
how about just logging into our nintendo ID's almost like the xbox gamer tag to transfer data from 360 to one. i here i was about to praise nintendo for awesome idea's they need me to keep my old ds
Kaboom Krusader that's true, I tried it.

You know what would be easy? Crazy thought Nintendo but here me out,
An account system... Because it's 2015. Stop making everything so complicated. Let me sign in, and just redownload software I purchased.

2:20 Pikmin 3D confirmed
Dood!
SporeSpam System Transfer IS Pikmin 3d
you realize they tried making pikmin on a 3ds and ds before right but they cancelled it because it didnt feel right
Actually that happens when you transfer stuff from your Wii to your Wii U so it could just be a nifty detail added in to be cute.
The system transfer looked like that even before the 3DS XL came out...
This is a big hassle nintendo..
no its not. Its typical protocol for data storage and transfer, you are just lazy.
@@GradyRoy I don't have this problem with Steam, GOG, Origin, Bethesda, etc.
On step 9 you’re just gonna pick wireless transfer
I don’t think anyone would do that anymore. They’ll probably now just do a PC-Based Transfer since it’s faster and more reliable and less prone to disconnect and fail. Alternatively, if their old system has a microSD card inside an adapter, they can just move the card over to the new system
how did i get here...?
Where are the smaller new 3ds? Everyone wants it cause the changeable plates but were not getting it.......
The XL out sold it buy quite a bit in Japan so they aren't selling it here
MegaCharizardXYZ The XL sold out because it came with Monster Hunter 4. And every other continent in the world is getting the regular size except America.
Cuz murica is home of the fatties
What about Canada?
Good Level 4 we may have it in the future we hope....
imagine if Seto Kaiba voiced this video....
what do you do if your dad destroyed your 3DS?
You have to call Nintendo and give them your information...
YEET on him.
(Ok, no)
@Joseph Williams but what about the digital games? Will they still be on the SD card?
@@undeadnightmaredemodragonk6772 You'd have to re-download them and you'd lose your saved games. It sucks to lose saved games but at least you don't have to buy the games again. I am not sure if the SD card saves will properly transfer due to whatever voodoo Nintendo does to the data on there.
And yes, it could have been done better.
My dad punched me when i broke mine
I just did a wireless transfer and played other games and watched shows while I waited. It took a while but it was much less stuff to worry about. I did change the card to a 32 gb one though, so i'll be good for a long time. I upgraded from a normal sized cosmo black 3DS to this one so the change is quite noticeable. I'm loving my New 3DS XL. :D
Also if you guys are looking for one and can't find one, I bought mine off of the walmart website. They had both the black and red one in stock so just a thought for you guys who want one but can't find it.
"Do not create a Nintendo network ID on your new system"
What if I do? can I still transfer the data from the old to new 3DS later?
By Formatting the system memory
Just to clarify, step 13 can be done first, right? So I could back up my old SD card (copy files to PC), put it back in the old 3DS, and then initiate the system transfer?
ArcadianGenesis I'd also like to know.
OmegaWeaponFFVIII I did it and it worked.
But either way this goes, we are going to have to insert the 32GB MicroSD card into the New 3DS XL before we even turn it on for the first time, update the firmware, do the system transfer from the old 3DS XL, and then take the 32GB MicroSD card out of the NEW 3DS XL AFTER that in order to copy the files from the PC on it? I just don't wanna have to take off the back plate twice. Lol
OmegaWeaponFFVIII I only removed the backplate once. Turn it on with the stock microSD card and initiate system transfer. When you get to the end of the system transfer, it tells you to turn off both systems and copy files with your PC. At that point, remove the backplate and insert your new microSD (with files copied onto it).
elpsycongroo
OMG I'DON'T HAVE A PHILIPS SCREWDRIVER SO I'CAN'T DO THIS!
This was a bit overwhelming at first but it's pretty simple actually. Glad I took it step-by-step.
wow
What if
the old 3ds is broken
You know, other systems just let you put your online ID in the console or handheld and that's the end of the transfer. Good to know that Nintendo is still so backwards about something as simple as a system transfer!
This wouldn't be such a hassle if Nintendo had unified accounts :T
16 steps just to get back our purchases -,-
*sigh*
4 gigs is NOT gonna be enough for me...now I gotta go buy an 8 gig -_- OY!
Why did you have to switch to micro! >_
< micro sd
8 GB? Buy 16 GB or 32 GB they cost the same and you will need it.
I got a pretty sweet 16GB for £10 on amazon, not too big a spend if you look in the right places thankfully!
Ridley Disambiguation I'm pretty sure the SDHC format is unsupported. D:
Gamefreak924 if you're gonna have a portable system, why carry around a bunch of physical copies when digital is right on the system and ready to go?
Why will things be deleted?? I want my save files etc on my old system as well...
to prevent piracy...nintendo still hasnt perfected a universal account system that will let you use multiple systems at once without risk for piracy...
PrimeVinyl Ah! Ok, its a shame, I really want my games that I downloaded on both systems.. thanks!:)
PrimeVinyl so all those games I've beat I'll have to beat again? *sigh* Nintendo...
rje808 No, if you trensfer, you will have the data on the New system.. just that its gone from the old!
You can back-up save data on digital games.
I did the procedure (without swapping SD cards) and had all deleted my data: you mucking nunts, it's 2018 Nintendo!
*Swap the Micro SD cards*
Oh, it worked out fine! Sorry Nintendo!
FOR ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS AFTER STEP #14:
While copying the folder from your original 3DS named "Nintendo 3DS" to your New 3DS's Micro SD card, if you decide to merge the two "Nintendo 3DS" folders together (the one from your original 3DS and the one on the New 3DS's Micro SD card), the new system won't be able to recognize your DSi games when you put the Micro SD card back in the New 3DS. If this happens, just put the Micro SD card back in your computer, go into the folder, go into the folder that starts with "bf95," and there should be 2 folders. DO NOT delete the one that starts with "c62800", it has the data you need on it. Instead, delete the other folder, which should be completely empty. Then, when you put the Micro SD card back into the 3DS, the DSi games should transfer over just fine.
I had a little scare while doing this but after a little bit of checking, I came to the conclusion that the New 3DS couldn't deal with there being an extra, empty folder in the spot I mentioned above so I deleted it and tried putting the card back in, and it worked. I'm glad that was the problem, or I probably would've lost all of my data and bricked my new system because I wouldn't have been able to get to the menu of my New 3DS.
I love you Nintendo, I really do. But what about just a decent account system that prevents all this old-fashioned and unnecessary hassle?
why can't you just switch the sd cards
The New Nintendo 3DS XL ONLY uses microSD cards. If you use a microSD card with an adapter in your old system, you can. But if you use a FULL-SIZE microSD card, you need to transfer the data manually.
If you were to have the 3ds micro sd update you can remove a newer version ( if u have it) of a sd card and than take out a mucro sd card then just smack it in your new one and your done.
If you had an old 3ds, it had a bulky SD card. The newer ones had micro. You couldn't jam the big SD into the tiny slot, so it has to transfer manually.
I have a micro SD card in a SD adapter in my 2DS. Can I just throw the micro SD into my new 3DS?
well, you still have to do the transfer between your 2 systems to transfer the nnid data but you can skip the part with the pc data moveing
You could do that, but if you have any games on it, they won't work with the new system because the 'System ID' linked with each game won't match (or so I've heard).
If you already have a microSD in your 3ds/2ds, then do as the video said, selecting the "PC sd card transfer". But you actually dont do the pc transfer, you'll just put your microSD in the new system after the initial system transfer.
***** thanks!
Yep, I did it this way.
I wanna have a 3DS XL!
I got a 1DS XL!
... wait, how tf did I do this ? 🤔
I have animal crossing new leaf digitally on my 3ds. If I do the transfer over yo the new 3ds, will my town be transferred as well?
Justin Luc yes
+Junior phew, thanks!
i had that question as well. i'm glad someone answered it
Not if you do the PC method. It forces you to download Welcome Amiibo and as soon as you start that it overwrites your old data.
@@Noblecheesehead OMG that is terrifying
Please keep the AC adapters connected on both consoles to ensure that the console(s) does not turn off during the system transfer.
So stuff like the Nintendo network I'd will appear on the new system? If not how can I do that?
I transferred a few hours ago, my heart skipped a beat when the New 3DS XL didn't recognize the Micro SD card the first time around, but thankfully it worked the second time and it all works great now!
#epicfail
a screwdriver? a sd adapter? jesus christ! we're in 2015 ffs!
btw i am surprised nintendo still exists, i thought they went bankrupt years ago.
Why does the page about the transfer mention Joy-Cons? They don't work with Nintendo 3DS/New Nintendo 3DS, they only work with Nintendo Switch! I think you may have made a mistake with the page.
my old 3ds uses a 32gb microSD card already, so how do I use it in my new 3ds?
+JordanMeAwesome Maybe do a low capacity transfer, then transfer your data from the 4GB to your 32GB? I have to 32GB mSD cards so I'm just doing the PC transfer.
+JordanMeAwesome select pc transfer but just move the micros sd card into the new 3ds afterwards. thats what i did lol.
JordanMeAwesome 8
फ़रलेशा जी did this work?
Never mind apparently it was much faster to have a microSD card in advance because the transfer only took 25-30 minutes to finish. Much faster than the first time I did a transfer and a lot more worth it. I was also surprised that I managed to keep the pre-installed Mario and Luigi: Dream Team which was the only thing I was worried about
I had to Re-Download Dream Team after the transfer but lost all the data to it. any way to recover?
How did you lose the data and what transfer method did you use?
I still wish we could move individual games or transfer the info from one system to another without having to overwrite everything.
But nonetheless, thank you for the helpful tips.
Ohh I forgot Pikmin transfer Wii > Wii U and 3DS > 3DS! Man I miss when Nintendo OSs had this much soul
Two questions (before I risk anything):
1. I had a pre-installed Mario Kart 7 (not tied to my account), so if I do this "System Transfer", will it move the pre-installed game as well? Or do I have to do a "Back-up" for that particular game?
2. What about the "friends list", does that get moves as well to the New 3DS?
Infinity Master it will be deleted
A-Train mma So to keep my Mario Kart 7 save, I guess I first have to back-up the save data and then do the System Transfer, right?
Also, I will be able to "re-download" Mario Kart 7 in my new 3DS despite it not being part of my account (since it was pre-installed in the system and I didn't really purchases it), right?
The system transfer process will transfer your pre-installed games via wifi. It will even ask you in the beginning whether your 3DS has any pre-installed games, and it lets you choose them from a list.
ArcadianGenesis I am getting conflicting replies here and so, not gonna risk it. - _ -
Infinity Master If you look into the official information, you'll find that my reply is the correct one. It's up to you.
What if the New 3DS has something pre-installed (Pokémon 20th Anniversary New 3DS) and the card you had previously was a microSD card, but bigger than 4GB? How would I go about transfering the pre-installed software to the bigger microSD card while keeping my previous games and saves in tact?
I don't think anything will happen. I transferring my stuff to the new 3ds pokemon anniversary console.
+Ricardo Frausto Yeah, I already did it with everything intact.
Even the special background? I'm barely on 75 percent.
+Ricardo Frausto I did it all yesterday morning.
+4NewHop3 so everything even the mid plaza data was transfered?
I was transferring data between my 3DS to my brand *New 3DS XL. I was doing the transfer via Wireless, and it was going all well and good until it got to the E-Shop part, then it had an error and stopped the transfer. Can anyone help me with this?
I transferred the saved data onto my computer before hand, sense some of it was apparently corrupted on my old SD card.
Also, before turning on my *New 3DS XL, I formatted a Micro SDHC 32 Gigabyte card and put it into my *New 3DS XL.
Are your systems in the same region?
Smaaaash
Yeah.
does this transfer includes downloaded games and their saves?plz someone answer me
If you do the wireless data tranfer from your new 3ds Xl to the new 2ds Xl will videos and photos be able to be tranfer to the new 2ds Xl?
Does anyone know if the old sd card I'm using, can I switch that with the pre-installed 4gb card? So basically, the old card will be in the new system, and the new card will be in the old system. The card I'm using now is 32gb and I really don't want to buy another 32gb just to transfer then have to return the other 32gb...
I have pre installed animal crossing new leaf. Will I lose all of its data during a system transfer?! I'm super scared
It doesn't don't worry, any method of transfer will keep your predownloaded games.
If you choose to use the faster means of transfer, or the low capacity sd card transfer, you'll have to redownload ACNL from the E-Shop.
Also! On the new 3ds, be sure to NOT make an nintendo account, your previous one will need to be transferred.
so. if i have pokemon sun digetal copy on my now 2ds and i want to transfer the save to a new 3ds i do just like they told be to in the tutorial?
I've chosen the faster option, does that mean after redownloading the games the save will be restored?
Cewii You will, but you will have to start over. If you do the PC Method, you can keep all of your save files.
Erik Jonsson Yes, that's the only way you can keep the save files on your digital games.
will this keep all my saved game data even from digital copies of games?
Yes it will :)
Alexis Diaz k. If i lose my fire emblem fates data i will die irl. Perma death not casual
+Josh B me too im doing it right now but do i have to use the pc or not because im doingna transfer now so i hope i wont lose anything
latiosfreak2000 wish u luck
I'm not sure, so I would do this method instead of trying wireless.
If my internet goes out while transferring my data, does it delete the data?
Honestly this is overly complicated and requires too much extra equipment.
Compared to something like xbox where you just put your profile in and that's it.
Thanks for teaching us how to hack you Nintendo!
What if I trade my old 3DS for a new 3DS?
+Long Nguyen Yeah I want to do that too but I want to know how to transfer without the old 3ds being present.
+Luke Lelievre same, if someone figures it out, let me know :)
+ibuprofanity sure
+Long Nguyen i heard on the forum that they let you have the console on your house (paying something) and they 'll give you the refund, basically the same money for the new 3ds
Long Nguyen
I just bought the new system first for full price and then did the transfer in my house. After that I returned the new system and then asked to have that same system resold to me. Of course I traded in my old system before re buying the new system. Voila, I now have a New 2DS XL with all of my games, save data, and NNID linked. Goodbye New 3DS XL! ...If only you had fewer battle scars.
cant you just link the nintendo network id?
Thanks a lot Nintendo for asking me to buy a PC which I don’t have the money
That's like a big science experiment
So I will lose my damn preinstalled Majoras Mask game? Thanks for nothing I guess... and I also have to buy an adapter thing for my computer.....
I'm getting the lime green new 3DS XL with Super Mario World pre installed. I have a 32GB microSD card that I would like to upgrade to. How can I use the new microSD card without Super Mario World getting deleted?
I have a broken 3ds that has the black screen of death and only turns on and works in a certain angle. I'm about to get a new 2ds/3ds (not sure yet) and I NEED to transfer the data. Why couldn't transferring data be easier? ;-; I just have two questions: Does the transfer take long? and Do you know if I can even FIX the black screen of death? :( Thanks in advance
Everyone is saying wireless but WHAT IF you have a full 32GB sd card that you have to transfer and your internet connection is low???? THAT'S when this video comes.
All this seems to make sense except for a couple of things. If you're transferring the files through the local at the beginning, which it looks like you are, then why the heck are you going through the trouble of putting the cards in your computer? The original SD card on the old system just got formatted. There's no point using the computer at all. I feel like the phrases, "There are multiple ways you can transfer your files." and "or" were left out of this video. Because steps 12 - 16 make no sense after you've gone through everything else. If all I have to do is put my cards in my computer and copy a folder, then I don't need to do steps 2 through 11. Am I the only one who noticed this?
“I can learn a language during the time to do this!” - Nathaniel Bandy
I have a question about Step 7: It says to click NO if you're used another Micro SD card on the N3DSXL. But that would mean that you're transferring to the default Micro SD card that comes with the system correct?
If i put in a brand new 32gb card should I be clicking yes on step 7 even though it has no games or any data on it?
Waiting an answer for this , what happens if we says yes?
I do not have a New 3DS XL. Why am I watching this?
does gamestop do an in-store system transfer? I'm planning to trade in but i want to keep all my stuff
One time I tried to do this to a 3DS to 3DS XL and erased everything on my old 3DS I was sad
That's what I'm worried about!
I guess it's because the data from the old 3ds was supposed to be transfered to the other 3ds
My regular 3ds is broken how tf am I supposed to transfer to the new 3ds???
You know how I transfer data on my Vita? I use the cloud-based servers to upload the files then download them whenever necessary. You know how I transfered my old data on my PSPs and old DS'? Simply switching out the damn cards.
Another option for Vita is to back up the system via the PS3 save option. That way you can back up all of the contents on the vita, then just reconnect it via USB to retrieve the data should you need it at any time.
Why didn't Nintendo make it so you plug your old 3DS into the Wii U, back it up there, then plug in the new 3DS and retrieve the backup save files that way? It's simpler, and I'm willing to bet that many people who own a 3DS own a Wii U.
Just a thought.
Whatever happened to games being tied to your account instead of a single system/PC? Like Steam and PlayStation Network or whatever service Xbox uses? I should be able to log into my Nintendo account on any system and have my (non-cartridge/disc) games available, like on PC.
This is useful for digital downloaded games. The wireless transfer will not allow digital game data to be transferred, so doing this option is much better if you have save data on digital games.
I'm thinking of buying a new 3ds xl (the one with the pre-installed majoras mask) i was wondering if i changed the memory card to a 16gb then did the system transfer using PC etc would i still be able to download majoras mask from the eshop?
Why didn't they just put a normal SD card slot on the new nintendo 3ds to make it easier for kids
So, just to confirm, if I have a downloaded game from the eShop, after transfer I can still keep the save file, right? Cause' the website says pre-installed games can be re-downloaded for free on the new system. Does this mean that games I bought from the eShop can be transferred with the save, while pre-installed games with the system have to be redownloaded?
Good thing these videos exist, else I'd probably screw up the transfer by the first step lmao
That is what I did one time.
I did mine easy because thankfully i already had a mirco sd card(32gb) in my old 3dsxl and after i did the system transfer all i did was unscrew the back and put my old micro sd card in it and all my games and stuff were there. didnt need a pc like the guide was telling me but i guess its different for those who DIDNT think ahead like me and had those ugly huge sd cards :P also as if im going to go from 32gb to 4gb(standard size that was inside my new3dsxl)
so when it asks you on your old 3ds that if tour using a sd card press yes and micro sd press no do u press no?
Pablo Avila only press no for sd card if you have a micro sd card :) and when it says move from etc/ move from using a PC. click PC and just put the micro SD card into the N3DS
+TheMrAditzu yeah
TheMrAditzu yup
I still have the standard sd card that my old 3ds xl came with so looks like I will need to use my computer when I get my new 3ds xl soon.
What do I do if one of the devices is broken and can’t be turned on?
They expect kids to know how to do this? lololo
Isn't that like a huge part of their user base?
Wait is the computer thing optional or required CUZ I don't have a sd card adapter nor a screw driver
Can I send my data from a european 3ds to an american 3ds ????
Why can´t just use the same mini sd card on the new 3ds xl????
why
I will be getting a New 2DS XL instead of a New 3DS XL. Will the process still be the same?
yes
I threw the new ds out the window it was faster then these instructions
I have a question. ok so first I'll explain my situation. I bought a new3ds xl and I would like to transfer my data from my old 3ds to my new one. I bought a 32GB microsd to install into my new one. (My old one has a regular 4GB ad card). now my Question is this.....if I just simply insert the microsd card into my new3ds and then transfer my data via wireless connection from the old 3ds , will everything be all set? or do I still need an usb adapter to copy the stuff on my old ad card to the microsd ?
It depends on the method you're using. If you're going to be transferring using a PC, then yes, you will; if by wireless, then no, you won't.
I dont get it. I thought you have to put the old sd card onto the new 3ds? How does it work?
So wait.. if you decide to transfer by using wireless transfer instead of the PC method, will the same data be sent as if you used the PC method?
Is the PC method just faster & cuts time?
Lewcuhs ss Very very late reply but yes according to Google search.
Wow. How about an account system instead?
So after the transfer, my games and Street Pass will be the same as on the previous console? PLEASE HELP
I did it without a PC and all my games downloaded on my 3DS had its data erased
+Meg Once you system transfer from a 3DS to another 3DS all of the data from your old 3DS will move to your new 3DS. Your old 3DS will "start over" with no data or memory. Hope this helped
I felt like Im transfering a soul to another body!
Data transfers make me so nervous. :'(
I have a BIG PROBLEM right after I hit the big blue transfer button it's supposed to ask if I use a micro sd card (which I do) but it never asks! I now can't transfer my games and keep the bigger micro sd card. :( ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED
How do you do this if the Lcd screen is broke?
