- Today we are stoked to talk about and put to the test Maurio McCoy's 'Flamingo' Twin Tip VX Pro Model Deck! Maurio's 'Flamingo' VX Deck features identical measurements on the nose and tail, down to the concave making this a true Twin Tip shape. This is a very special board to us all as Maurio worked closely with our friend Yaia to have this graphic done in honor of his Mom ❤️ If you do not grab this one to shred, be sure to grab one to enhance your walls at home. We put Santa Cruz Skateboards Brand Manager Andrew Cannon to the test with three NEW challenges to find out how this setup skates. I love how calm, chill and polite Andrew always is! Loving these product challenge videos and that new McCoy graphic is awesome! Gotta get myself one of these, absolutely love my current McCoy, the shape is amazing!
are the "nose and tail" steep on the mccoy shape? and did you end up finding one of these decks?
@@j-mak I don't find the tails steeper or mellower than most other decks, they got a nice steepness to them. I have not found any VX's where I live (Norway) but I've seen them available at the official Santa Cruz webshop. Unfortunately they don't ship abroad 😕

Andrew, and Maurio, and a twin tip?! those are all the best things! 🤙🤙 I've got the McCoy Everglow deck and it's my favorite ever. Any chance that SC could make this shape into a series, with identical length, wheelbase and nose/tail shapes across different widths? Being able to ride the 8.25 and a 8.5/8.75/8.375 would blow my mind!
give us twin tips already, also normal construction. Skate brands are denying us twin shapes, its long time the nose is a relict of surfdom.
I have to get a few of those. One for the wall and one to shred.

Since its a VX deck, do you think its easy to screw in rails on the bottom?
Loved the specs of this deck (I only skate symmetrical boards, mainly Deluxe 8.3" Slicks) and the VX technology makes the deck/pop feel super crisp. Too bad the "kicks" were not identical on both versions I ordered 😐 There was a 2-3mm difference in length between both kicks and one was steeper than the other. I hope I will get the real symmetrical versions in exchange.

I absolutely suffer from board breaking PTSD. Always trying to be extra careful and not go too hard due to all the sessions abruptly ended
