@@Virginia89First, you can decide the day of if you want to pay the extra money for Genie+ and/or Individual Lightning Lanes. You can buy Genie+ any time between midnight and 7 am of the day you are visiting a park. Most people purchase by 6:45 am to make sure their credit card is in the app and that they have everything set up. Then, you will want to divide and conquer. If you decide to purchase Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane, you can make the first Genie+ selection of the day (from your hotel) at 7 am while your husband sets up the free Virtual Queue for Tron or Guardians of the Galaxy. Virtual Queue is only open at 7 am (from anywhere), 1 pm in the park and 6 pm if you are a Deluxe guest in Extended Park Evenings. For individual Lightning Lane entry, guests of a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels* may make their first purchase starting at 7:00 am on the day of their visit. All other guests may make their first purchase when the park opens. If yiu are staying in property, then he can purchase the Individual Lightning Lane if you choose (Rise of the Resistance, Seven Dwarves Mine Train or Flight of Passage). If you decide to rope drop these Individual Lightning Lane rides, then you can save money on having to pay. You can line up five minutes before closing for Flight of Passage, though. At Animal Kingdom, you can always rope drop Everest. Everyone will be trying to rope drop Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. You can ride Kilimanjaro Safaris later and you would see different (nocturnal) animals versus the animals that are normally lively in the morning). I don’t recommend trying to ride Rise of the Resistance the last five minutes before park closing because that ride breaks down often. In my opinion, it’s better to ride it earlier in the day to make sure you have a chance to ride it. If yiu have Early Entry, I recommend rope dropping Rise and purchasing Genie+ for Slinky since your husband wants to ride the Star Wars rides and your daughter wants to ride Slinky. For Magic Kingdom, since you want to ride Space Mountain, I’d rope drop that. Start familiarizing yourself with the My Disney Experience app because you can mobile order, make dining reservations, check wait times for characters and attractions, find restaurant wait lists and even check out at the parks’ main gift shops. It’s a huge time saver.
16:51 wait a minute, I thought that you COULD buy two Individual Lightning Lanes at the same time --They just can't be for the same ride. I also believed that the ILLs didn't have the same 2-hour "cool down" period like the other Lightning Lanes either. Can someone confirm?
From Mouselets: “While there is no limit to Lightning Lanes, there is a limit to Individual Lightning Lanes. You can book up to two Individual Lightning Lanes per day. Currently as of April 2023, Walt Disney World offers ILLs on Seven Dwarves Mine Train, TRON, Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, and Flight of Passage. Additionally, Individual Lightning Lanes tend to run out most quickly in the morning so be sure to prioritize booking your Individual Lightning Lane before your Genie+ Lightning Lane.”
