I use a condenser mic with IEMs (ZS KZ 10 Pro). Best decision ever. The IEMs are way more comfortable for multiple reasons, such as weight, pressure on the temples and the fact that I use glasses. The sound quality is better than basically any headphones of the same price, as making IEMs is super cheap and the drivers are great.

this trend of manufacturer not making 0.78mm 2 pin that can't go into recessed pins need to stop. fiio has also been doing this dumb thing with their UTWS 3 too, and users are left to find their own jank solution which is MMCX to 0.78mm connectors. Oddly enough, even with loads of complains from everyone, fiio did not fix this issue with their UTWS 5, which I find really odd.
idk, is that design of 0.78mm connector that can fit into those recessed pins are licensed? To the point companies are skimping on it whenever possible? Because I find it odd that such an obvious design decision got overlooked by multiple companies nowadays.

Yes! The review finally dropped. I got a Tri x Hbb IEM Kai for mine, to match the blue aesthetic. I also got the TRN EMX (non-iem) flat style earbuds, also a 2 pin connector one, but with an over the ear design, for times when I find the earplug style of the iem's too invasive or fatiguing. All in all, can't beat the Gramr for price to performance, and the TRN EMX goes a long way if you just want a little more comfort.

    My IEM suggestion:
    1. Moondrop Blessing 2 / Dusk. Yes, it has one of those slightly recessed 2 pin connector, but it works just fine on my UTWS 3 and 5 which did not have that notch on their 0.78mm connector. The B2/D is definitely a bright tilted set, so for in-game footstep it should work well, and still sound fantastic for music too. But the big nozzle can be fatiguing on your ears really fast if your ear hole isn't big enough.
    2. 7hz/Salnotes Dioko. It is another planar set that have a flush 2 pin connector, and is fairly cheap. But in my case, I need a spinfit tip to make it sound "right" for my ears in comparison to it's FR graph. So yeah, if you find your Dioko sounding odd, try put that Hook X's tips on it, since Hook X's included tips are basically spinfit knockoff.

I've got the Kinera Ruyi, big big fan. Planning on buying the Gramr next and exploring others. This thing unironically rocks. Using it with my Blessing 3's, so do not take what I say as 100% accurate for all IEMs, I use Stellaris and Blessing 3's, so I've pretty much got an amazing experience all around on both of those god-tier IEMs.

just buy a lavalier mic and a splitter for like 10$... this is annoying because you have to change the cable at the 2 pin side (fragile) when you dont use the mic, whereas a splitter is just a matter of unplugging the Y connector, why buy a specialized gadget when a general solution thats been used for a long time works perfectly fine...

  • @iantsears

The Kinera Gramr molds, that are used for the left side, and separately for the right side with mic... are not the same mold. They made three molds when they should have made four and we pay for it as the consumers. Because Kinera offers this in 2-pin, MMCX, 4-pin, and 7-pin; they size the right side with mic rubber connector part for the largest of those options... and it does not FIT into the 0.78mm 2-pin iems female connectors. So it FALLS OUT of the right side iem. Not once in. a while... this happens constantly.
You could say "well, just get out an Xacto knife and shave it DOWN then!" but then if you do it not perfectly it will never fit and now the warrantly is voided, etc.
No. This is a manufacturer's defect that still has not been corrected. YOU pay for this defect. Be WARNED.

I got some info from some local reviewer in my country... basically they are identical in build (which maybe why they don't get reviewed), but the panel is different (Gigabyte use the 180hz oc panel rather than the old 170hz), and the reviewer said that the color accuracy is slightly off compared to the older G24f (not that its bad or anything, just strange in term of product "upgrade"), and it also don't include a Display Port cable like the older model.
The good side is, the response time improved ever so slightly.
I am currently use the G24f2, and found absolutely no problem regarding the panel color... everything looks clear and vibrant, I'd say it was worth the money (but I upgraded from my old TN panel that is 7 yo at this point, so your mileage may vary from mine)

UPDATE just stay away from this item. It just sucks man. After having it for a month. NO! I get better milage with the ANTLION and my MOONDROPS just stay away from this not worth it.
Man I had such a hard time finding this cable lol. I'm just starting my journey. would this headset work well with the Crinacle ZERO'S? They look flat but not sure. They are lightweight and I was looking at some profiles of them and they look like they would be good for gaming at least.

I would really watch out with using IEMs for gaming, because it will definetely clog up your ear canals over time. Wearing IEMs regularly for short periods of time is fine, but very long, frequent use is bad for your ears and potentially leads to (treatable) hearing loss.

Can you elaborate on this or provide any additional research/info? Curious on what you mean by clogging up your ear canals.
