    I hope that alternate door entrance doesn't have young children sleeping back there. I can see them just leaving at will. Do any of you (designers/owners/builders) actually live in one of your tiny homes? Was wondering if you could talk a little about that experience in one of your videos. P.S. My mother is French-Canadian from Bic Rimouski and I will only use you guys to build my tiny house if and when I decide to have one built. Still working out land logistics. Bonne vidéo, je vous remercie. :)

      There are deadbolts that open with keys on both sides rather than having a regular handle on the inside. But then emergency egress might be a problem....

      This is exactly what I was thinking. That door is a wasted space because of the double folding mattress that his kids will sleep whenever they come over.

    Love your homes. As an oldie I think they are perfect to manage and allow one to stay in a home they love. As people on this planet we have to learn what is necessary for life and and happiness. I’m in Australia and after taking a year or two to travel and live in my 23 ft coaster bus, this is my idea of home. I’ve researched a lot but you are second to none in what you do.
    Do you sell your plans to be built under your name? Can underfloor heating be applied and would you use a heat pump to do this? Thank you Marilyn

      I can't speak for Minimaliste, but AFAIK they only sell in the US and Canada. I'm in Denmark, and would also love to buy a Minimaliste "tiny". Finding a plot of land in nature and putting a Minimaliste there would be amazing. Would have a suitable home and debt free pretty quickly as well. Would love that freedom👍
      @Minimaliste: Hoping you're expanding to Europe soon?!?

    The quality of your homes is always top-notch. I don't really like most of this floor plan but I know this is all based on a single customer's preference so I'm not overly concerned. I do like that bathroom a lot, though. As usual, a job well done!

    Your tiny houses are always beautifully crafted.
    This is made to the specifications of the client, but for me it would be a recipe for bruising all over my body. Too many nooks and crannies, sharp corners, and stuff sticking out.

    Lots to like if one is trying to pack in as many as possible for sleep overs. Like the big table. Strikes me as more of a family vacation cottage than permanent residence. Nice editing in the utility labels. Minimaliste was the first place I saw those long underfloor drawers ... so smart. Love your work.

    Another beautiful home with enough space for comfortable living. Minimaliste is the best without doubt. I've talked with many builder/ owners over the last year and I've found none willing/able to do what they do,to much hemming and hawing about custom ideas. I'm having a 10×30 built as we speak by a Sacramento California company because I did want pay the shipping from Quebec to San Diego $$$$. I've made my design Noyer-esque tho 😃. The extra touches and ideas JP and Philip come up with are great. Maybe next one!!!

    • @lazyp1g
      @lazyp1g 3 роки тому

      Hey, I would love to know what Sacramento you are using. I'm exploring options in the area and your experience has been the same as mine - way too many small, sketchy companies with inflexible designs and/or questionable quality of work. Minimaliste looks great but they're just too far.

    If I were having them build for me I'd challenge them to make the most passive house version they could. Full airsealing, propane toilet and appliances, solar system on the roof and a real foyer. It drives me nuts none of these tiny houses have a foyer.

    Why do you place the electrical panel in the living space when you have a "mechanical room"???? That's just wrong. Get it out of the "fancy" space!!!

    • @minimalistehouses5662
      @minimalistehouses5662  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Shirley! As per the codes we are required to follow, the panels need to be accessible and not in a closet space. We are only allowed to install the 12V fuse box on the mechanical room ‘’. That is unfortunate in terms of design, we agree! But we try to make the trims around it as nice as possible. 👌🏻

      @@minimalistehouses5662 Thanks for the info. Think it might be the same in the US or at least in Pennsylvania. When we had our house built they put it in the mudroom but not the closet on the other side of the same wall. Very interesting for sure!!!

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 3 роки тому

      @@justme5694 Yes, it's generally a fire safety and service access issue that's in most codes... Panels require a minimum clearance from any combustibles and clear access. This can exclude options like closets as they will usually not have enough clearance and may have combustibles in them... Though, you can usually put some sort of safe decoration to help blend it in to the room or a cabinet as long as it remains easily accessible... Alternatively, the panel can be installed on the exterior...
      Code has gotten a bit stricter over the years and in a tiny space it can be harder to find places that meet code and so they have started to be placed in more open areas...
