The Ghan Departs Alice Springs

The Ghan is a passenger train that operates between Adelaide and Darwin running from the south to the north of Australia and though central Australia’s deserts and ranges. Here it is seen at 6pm leaving Alice Springs bound for Darwin where it will arrive the next day. This spot is a trackside location found to the north of Alice Springs by following the maintenance track which is a continuation of Smiths Street.

So where are the themed "The Ghan" locomotives? I done the full round trip from Adelaide to Darwin and back about three years ago, very enjoyable, wasn't impressed with downtown Alice Springs though, however, the wildlife and reptile park excursion was great. Nice video.
