Ein - Schoolgirl assassin (see Maki from Danganronpa). She also got an anime. (Phantom of Inferno)
Muramasa - Mecha spider milf. Also you're her goshujinsama. (Full Metal Daemon Muramasa)
Al Azif - Demonbane's MC and sth sth necronomicon sth sth.
Ethica - Basically a Deadpool with a chainsaw who kills and replaces you as MC for yuri (Tokyo Necro)
Sonico - Noble's waifu. Enough said. (Sonicomi and N+ mascot)
Mora - Half-Vampire loli that slays vamps. Her partner is a Spawn looking mofo. (Kyuuketsu senki Vjedogonia)
Saya - Eldritch abomination loli due to SPOILER (Say no Uta)
Ruili - Iirc she's an investigator and kung fu practitioner a la Chie. (Kikokugai Cyber Slayer)
Anna - Doll maid waifu. Her partner is a werewolf cab driver. (Gekkou no Carnevale)
Saber - Everyone knows Saber.
Ouka - Sonico's rival and friends in SoniComi.
Ignis - Chuuni yet badass Demon slayer waifu. (Jingai Makyou)
Since I am actively reading through Demonbane:
Al-Azif is actually an incomplete Necronomicon so she needs to collect her pages, which have various skills, like the spider web, or the mirror/teleportation.
Which is why she is such a toolbox character in this game. Those skills are references to her various pages
Sonico's aside, ew, I suppose those are fine enough descriptions. I feel like clarifying some stuff, like Ein's and Ruili's in particular which are technically not entirely correct, but that goes straight into heavy spoiler territory so I'll refrain.
And these are just the main playable characters. There are still the assist and side characters who appear in the game as well.

Man, you gotta love people's initial reactions to Saya. In fact, the original Nitroplus fighting game was how I first encountered her, and needless to say I got hooked to their entire game roster immediately. Naturally, I was excited about it finally becoming a proper game with Blasters - still hoping it can get another sequel, actually.

What happened to Yoh was indeed heartbreaking, but her's was forced instead of it happening slowly and naturally. But with Saya's very human-like jealousy, she wouldnt have had it any other way.
@@AceKite00 which is exactly the point. What she does isn't for evolution or growth, but for selfish desires that only steal from others. Things that should NEVER be stolen from any individual. Her selfishness was to the point that she knew damn well that the one who "loved her" wouldn't even accept her true self. She is not a Saviour that helps, but a monster that steals and corrupts.

Homura is the easiest character who needs to be in BBTAG since her sprites can be redrawn from this game into a same style how Yumi was drawn, but w/ additional new sprites for BBTAG.
People would complain even about her being too op like Yumi... i mean in Nitro,togheter with Saber, she was strong af in the game.

Sonico is one of Nitroplus' mascot, she's not from anything really, just a mascot. She has a lot of Rule 34 and fan-art, it's probably where you saw her from.

And from what I gathered a yuri-attracting, zombie-slaying Protagonist-kun replacing (preferably with sharp stuff) Deadpool mixed with Kagura from Onechanbara. She is also from Tokyo Necro which isnt translated btw.

Nelo Malkevain I literally discovered what Saya no Uta was because of this game and that is how I read through the visual novel which I loved.

Pretty much all of these franchises (bar fate) are handled by nitroplus.

Didn't ready it, apart from the synposis and some forum discussions but I know full well what its about and its reputation as Urobutcher's one of many dark and fucked up works. Its one of the most fucked up VN out of all VNs. Yes 10x worse than DDLC. And I did see the Arcade ending for Saya.
But now that you mentioned it, I've seen worse. Mai Chan's Daily Life or Euphoria worse.
If one is able to get past the hellish landscape visuals, then they see its an amazing story about love and what it means to possess a soul (emotions in general). The scenes within the novel only furthers the message Urobutchi was sending to us.
