Finally I've learnt the meaning of get&have, actually I used to so confused about this topic bcz people uses this two words in several ways...at times I couldn't understand but now it became Cristal-clear for me,Thanks a lot!
I was very confused about usage of these words but, After listening this video as learned a lot can easily fit these words into sentences where they could be.Thank you very much.
It was so gainful for confused people about these verbs like me and I'd like to learn about "Such" to use in context and speaking. It would be very nice .
I want to say a big thank you for these lessons. I feel that I learned a lot. I took the Toefl 2 years ago, and I didn't pass , now I am planning take it once again. Could you please give me some advice how to improve every domain. Thanks!
Thanks for watching our lessons, Elsa! We have teaches who can give you specific advice for your situation if you're interested in taking lessons: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/about-our-online-english-teachers.
The causative use of get that you have not mentioned. Such as Get it signed. ;He will get the work done. ; I frequently get asked this question. Thanks
That's really helpful! Thanks for teaching me so well. And i have something to wonder. Which is " what is the difference between in something time and at something time, like at study time, and in study time and i also have heard of "on your own time". I'm really curious about what they mean.
Hi Omar. We have some lessons on prepositions which might help you. Have you seen them yet? You can watch them on our website: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/?s=prepositions.
1.I should get going. Here get going means to start moving. 2. Coffee gets me going to start my day. Here get someone going means to get someone feel energetic and excited. Please kindly fix these if there is anything wrong. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your response, Victoria. Great examples! For your writing, here is one thing to consider: 1) '...means to make someone feel energetic,' or, '...means to get someone feeling energetic,' not, 'get someone feel energetic'. Hope this helps you!
Hi, I love your videos! Another sentence "I got no money to spend now" Is that "have got" ? But why is the have not there ? Thank you so much.

I need to get some fresh air. I need to get some time off. I got some stuff for my kids. Have you got an idea about how to apply for this scholarship? I got a new job. It's getting dark.
Here are my examples: 1. Laura has ethics on Mondays. 2.I went to my cousin's wedding and had a good time. 3. My father normally gets home at half past six. 4. I will get a bus to go to school. 5. Have you ever eaten dogs? 6.What type of flowers have you got at the moment? 7. I got a lot of positive feedback from my lecturer. 8. He is not adept at cooking, so he got his wife to prepare meals. 9. My mother went to the supermarket to get some milk and butter. 10. My dog is getting older and older. 11. My little sister is having lunch now. 12. You have to study hard if you want to pass the final exam with flying colours. 13. His uncle got a heavy cold last week. 14. My sister often has slight headaches at night. 15. My parents usually have a nap after lunch. 16. My aunt is going to have a baby this December. 17. He is diagnosed with diabetes as a result of not getting enough exercise. 18. My brother-in-law worked hard because he wanted to get enough money to support his family. 19. I have my nails trimmed before attending my friend's graduation ceremony. 20. I did not get her speech because she spoke too fast.
Nice, Vy Ngo! Two small items about tenses: 1) 'He was diagnosed,' or, 'He has been diagnosed' not, 'He is diagnosed'. 2) If you are talking about a general truth with graduation ceremonies in general, present simple is fine, but you want to make 'ceremony' plural: 'I have my nails trimmed before attending my friends' graduation ceremonies'. If you are only talking about one specific time, use the past simple: 'I had my nails trimmed before attending my friend's graduation ceremony'. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there. Yes, the correct phrase is 'I have got' and many speakers shorten it to 'I got,' but that is not grammatically correct.
Thanks for superb lesson :)
