      Thanks for sharing your response, Victoria. Great examples! For your writing, here is one thing to consider:
      1) '...means to make someone feel energetic,' or, '...means to get someone feeling energetic,' not, 'get someone feel energetic'.

    Hi, I love your videos! And right after i've finished watching this video, something started making me wonder
    I'm wondering what got means in the sentence "I got a family"
    And I've heard a lot of people in almost all movies in English say "got" like that,
    And what does it actually mean ? Another sentence "I got no money to spend now"
    Is that "have got" ? But why is the have not there ?
    Thank you so much.

    • @Oxfordonlineenglish1
      @Oxfordonlineenglish1  2 роки тому

      Hi there. Yes, the correct phrase is 'I have got' and many speakers shorten it to 'I got,' but that is not grammatically correct.

    19. I have my nails trimmed before attending my friend's graduation ceremony.
    20. I did not get her speech because she spoke too fast.

    • @Oxfordonlineenglish1
      @Oxfordonlineenglish1  5 років тому

      Nice, Vy Ngo! Two small items about tenses:
      1) 'He was diagnosed,' or, 'He has been diagnosed' not, 'He is diagnosed'.
      2) If you are talking about a general truth with graduation ceremonies in general, present simple is fine, but you want to make 'ceremony' plural: 'I have my nails trimmed before attending my friends' graduation ceremonies'. If you are only talking about one specific time, use the past simple: 'I had my nails trimmed before attending my friend's graduation ceremony'.
      Thanks for sharing!
