Another awesome video, thank you! You've summed up everything nicely. You should expect a slight increase in volume with more tone and quicker boost response. As the ECU learns you'll notice the effects even more. It's not as night and day sound wise as sport cats - but headers are a great way up make an upgrade without altering an emissions device or getting a check engine light. Wait until you hear these headers in combination with your Sport Catalytic Converters which should be finished soon! Cheers! -Mike
I luv how excited you get working on these cars, I get energy watching you lol.
I got a GT, I have no idea about what’s under the hood besides the obvious.
Time to start wrenching! :)
wow.. unbelievable how everything is so accessible
But so tight !
The fact that you’re both mechanic and director for this shows a certain set of skills
Thank you!
Hey Tommy, which quick jack do you recommend for 2015 Porsche 911. Quick jack doesn’t have a guide to determine which lift works out of the box
Here you go - this is the one I have: ua-cam.com/video/SYasxVo2Q6c/v-deo.html
Tommy, thanks for the holy moly and you put a smile on my face.
Thanks for dealing with these nuts!
You'll end up with a full Soul exhaust and we'll like that too.
That’s the plan!!!
You have a very understanding wife that lets you spend all this time screwing off with the car!!! Love your videos I am dying to get my own 991.2 or 992!! I followed all your F80 videos as I was planning to buy one, but I ended up buying an M550 instead. The M550 will continue to be my daily but i’m starting the research to pick up my own Porsche - keep the videos coming so when I buy mine I can use all this awesome knowledge!
Stay away from 992. It’s a disaster inside :(
The amount of Deez Nuts in this video cannot be overstated.
The take away of the video: You can't handle the nuts if you forget about the wobbly extension!
Hahaha funny !!!
Juvenile Burbles - that was the name of my band in high school! 😂 Thanks for another great video.
Must have played some good music !!
Great job explaining the process of installing headers on your 911. Did you get a quote from an Ind shop for installation as well? I had New German Performance install Fabspeed full exhaust and headers on mine last year. Once you remove those factory cats for a open cell cat it will make a world of difference. The price for installation wasn't bad. Went with a Giac bench tune.
Thanks for the note. I dint get quotes - I wanted to tackle it myself to make sure it gets done right.
Cats coming in next!
@@TommyLGarage high flow or catless?
@@jackburns8808 high flow.
Great video - thanks
I always thought the point of headers was to improve airflow and optimize back-pressure to result in more torque and snappier throttle response. Wouldn’t expect much change in sound/volume as this is down to the mufflers.
You’re right. But there is actually a bit more noise which is great!
@@TommyLGarage That's great, but how's the throttle-response and low end toque? You allude to the snappier response in the video, curious to understand how significant the improvement is. Of course, you do still have restrictions on the other side of the turbo still (CAT and muffler), the real benefits will come when you address the whole chain. I'm no expert, but I believe that addressing the airflow (an engine like a giant air pump) leads to huge drivability improvements (across the rev range), makes for a much more satisfying experience. Looking forward to seeing more videos on it!
Haha, whoa! These nuts! Great video, really shows the underside of the car beautifully!
That’s nuts!
Amazing video bro. I got a question do you need to get a tune after the header being installed?
Thanks! No tune needed
Finally a video!! Good one!! BTW with those headers, no emission passing issue?
Headers have no cats so no emission issues
I changed my cats and pipe. went with fabspeed and No Lights or emission issues. Planning on headers. also have a tune in my 991.2
Why are you guys searching this puffing nonsense.. I mean noises?
Huh?
Yeah! My thumbs up made it to 500th likes!! 😊
You rock!
...soaking these nuts. Come on now :p
And it was supposed to be a family show... :)
@@TommyLGarage nobody says that sentence by accident:)
Great video.. I actually did my cats and Xpipe. I used FabSpeed. It was quite the job. I removed the rear bumper and insulation panels. I also installed the IPD plenum. Next will be the headers. I also have a tuner which is already installed.
Wow your car must be a beast!
@@TommyLGarage I have to say do the plenum. You can’t believe the low and midrange power it wakes up. I actually have to watch the pedal bc it gets loose so easily. Yes it’s a beast.
@@captainsteve5993 upload a video of the sound
@@masonmartin1464 I can’t put a video in a response
Have you done an engine tune as yet? If so what type and what’s your final opinion..
Yes I did APr and loving it!
@@TommyLGarage what was your torque and hp gains. New 0-60 times if you were able to record em?
You have a great attitude!
Thank you!
Thanks, that was very authentic
I appreciate it !!
I had a 91 NSX. Did equal length DC Sport headers, cat delete and HKS exhaust. The best sound ever coming out of that V6 at 8000rpm. Yours sound good but nothing like that NSX.
Yours burble when off the throttle, the NSX kind of growls when off the throttle!
NA sound is the best !
I'm feeling the same pains. Rusty hardware on a low mileage 997.2 🤔 but Caesar and Jeff keeps whispering in my ear "do it bro" 😂
Do it !!!!
Sounds like the way it should've straight out of the factory. Appreciate your enthusiasm that's felt throughout the video.
Thanks for the kind words! Yes it sounds really amazing
Man working on my low mileage stock twin turn turbo Nissan 300zx was hard as hell this Porsche has plenty of space
Yup!
Also, 9 months later, still completely happy with Soul Headers and Sport Cats combo?
Very happy it is actually a little too quiet sometimes I think but I would not go louder because it would get annoying on longer trips
Good video Tommy
Thanks!
Hey brother, same Carrera T spec here minus the sunroof! What brand car seats are those for the kiddos. Let me know!
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/qxe15JKuZIc/v-deo.html
Thank you!
Great work.
Thanks!!
Okay 🔥👍🏿
Yeyy
Nice job :)
Thanks!
You need a lift in garage!
I need a sponsor!
@@TommyLGarage LOL
Boy your garage has like no space on both outside bays - strange.
It's a tiny garage...
@@TommyLGarage not it’s a a large garage just strange there is no room on the outside bays
@@smplyizzy he usually has 3 cars at the same time in his garage……
@@TommyLGarage compare your "tiny" garage to mine LOL
so where's ur m3
It’s there!
