I'm considering the soul cats for my 911.2 c4s... Really excited to watch your follow up videos. On 911uk a couple of members have said the cats really open up after a couple hundred miles.
Not advised to hammer [rubber mallet included] a catalytic converter unless you plan on selling them for scrap. Break apart any of the thin ceramic substrate honeycomb inside which you can't see and they've now become an ineffective obstruction. Twisting while pressing/pulling is the proper method. Heat works well for stubborn ones. Slip-fit exhaust connections are a cost cutting OE solution which doesn't include mallets for original assembly. Aftermarket should always be v-band or at least 2 or 3-bolt flange.
what an unexpected collaboration, i love how his GTS sounds with the Kline exhaust. i watch hid vids every few weeks, tempts me to sell my 997.2 and go turbocharged tbh
Hey Tommy, another fun video, really enjoyed watching. Have you considered an after market intercooler, i.e. the CSF Intercooler and or the IDP Plenum upgrade? I haven't done them, I'm doing the homework. Seems each one helps focusing on allowing the car to breath better and run a little cooler .
@@TommyLGarage Makes sense. How about now that you've tuned your car. How are the temps looking? Curious if you've noticed how much temps have increased, oil included? I'm still having fun with the research, including tunes from different companies, i.e APR, M-Eng. Cobb Tuning.
Sounds great! I should know, I have Soul headers and sport cats on my car too. It is a perfect setup with zero drone and if you're not in Sport or Sport+ it's quiet and you can have a nice conversation with the family at highway speeds.
Hey Tommy, I'm looking to get into a 991.2 also but planning which model/exhaust route to go. I like the sounds of the PSE but not a fan of the tips. Was wondering what is their ID diameter to see about finding some replacement without paying P-Car tax.
Hey, I’m planning to change the whole system. At the end of the video you mentioned something about the ECU adjustment. Did you have to go to dealer or just any garage is able to do so. And other thing, besides the fun part, would you suggest that I should do it or if find a garage with a reasonable price, which is the best option?
Schley Products 67750 Oxygen Sensor Wrench is perfect for this. Makes that part super easy. Also, using a screw jack, unbolt the two motor mounts and lower the engine for more room on top
@ really?! I mean everybody in Germany say so, that you loose your Approved of you change something Like exhaust. You have that on Paper from Porsche, that apporved is still active - or do you do Not have it for that car?
Hey Tommy…can you tell me why you decided to go the 200 cell route vs the cat bypass pipes that Caesar has on his 991.2 GTS? Was it because you didn’t want to deal with the check engine light? Smell?
@@TommyLGarage Ha, so does Fran Drescher.. Happy you like it. I just heard a guy in a F350 turbo diesel pull away and swore it sounded like your car ;)
Those turbo noises. I could drive that all day.
I’m so glad we have basically the same car. I’m learning from you and enjoying your excellent attitude. Caesar’s comments were valuable.
Thank you for your lovely feedback!

that turbo spool sound so nice!
I agree!
I think that its just perfect! the turbo sound is simply amazing, great job and congratulations! Greetings from Uruguay Tommy!
Thanks and I appreciate you watching from so far away!
I have these cats on my 991.2 Targa 4 GTS manual and I love them. I also added a Softronic tune and it made a Huge difference!
Nice! I’m trying to resist the tune
@@TommyLGarage .....The tune is only for the guys who want to make it quick. I like your resistance.
On the other hand. Resistance is futile

Holy moly you’re back!
Awesome video! Glad you love the end result! -Mike
Awesome product too !!!!!
Can you make your videos with a pov view? Like a go pro strapped on your head, I really enjoy pov videos of manual shifting. Thanks!
Will do!
I definitely picture Wolfgang from the local Porsche Dealer using these same smooth tactics to install sport cats. 😂
Haha touché
that turbo sound
Doesn’t get old
Ceaser aka The Porsche Experts: this is a hard job.
Tommy: this will be an easy job
Me: Ceaser don't know Tommy 🤣😂😏
Hahaha exactly !!!!
How did you remove and reinstall the vacuum lines on the exhaust valves? Do they just pull off and snap back on?
Yes. Pry really hard and they will pop off
@@TommyLGarage Thanks!

991.2 is an amazing platform !
Hey Tommy that spots cat sounds amazing, i did the sports cat and MST aire induction kits on my F32 440i.
Nicely done sir!
Thanks!

It’s such a cool combo!
Did you get a CEL with either?? Or are you running a tune?
@@uzzisa1745 I did not have any issues with a CEL. I don't have a tune ATM. Will change soon.

Reminds me of my M2 with the pops and bangs now.
Pops and bangs can be easily disabled in sport +. Gotta love it
Please tell me the brand and product name of the baby seat

What that backseat you’re using? :) love the turbo spool sound!

Not all all. The system will adjust to the new cats. No need for any dealer visits. You’ll be fine and will move it!
I’m gonna do my turbo s. But change back box too
There is really no need. The back box when it’s open it’s pretty much a straight pipe.
Sorry if someone already asked this I didn’t see it but I’m considering this on my 991.2 GTS any check engine light issue long term?
No check engine light at all. Do it !
Any issues with passing emission testing with a high flow?
None at all.
Schley Products 67750 Oxygen Sensor Wrench is perfect for this. Makes that part super easy. Also, using a screw jack, unbolt the two motor mounts and lower the engine for more room on top
Any reason you didn't go cat less?
I don’t like the smell
I’ve watched this video And the one for the headers. Excuse if I missed you saying but, are you going to upgrade the muffler as well?
Not sure if I will. Once the valves are open it becomes a straight pipe exhaust.
Sounds great Tommy. Loving the Porsche content. So is the F80 gone or just being camera shy lately??
Thanks! Fleet update soon :)
Did you Not loose youre Porsche Approved for install a different cat?
Nope!

@ if you see my other videos you can notice I blew a turbo. It was still warrantied
Sounds sick
Thanks!!!
Is a tune required after installing a cat delete? Did you get a check engine light?
Catless - yes you need a tune.
With my setup - no tune needed.

I also didn’t want a tune

How much more HP you get only with the cats without software?
Should be around 15 or so

Should have just straight piped it :)
With the valves open it practically is! The factory 991.2 Carrera PSE muffler is designed quite well!
@@SoulPerformanceProducts You left the factory muffler in place didn't you? Well designed or not.

So much easier if you take of the rear bumper lol ....
This has nothing on the naturally aspirated 3.8, as far as sound goes.
True
Wow what a pleasant meaty growl.

Sounds like you’ve got loose jewlery stuck in your engine, way too turbo spooly for me, almost too agrarian

They came black from the factory
