Your reaction to the fade-in piano chord was so gratifying, no one ever keys in on it that I've seen and it's a super underappreciated detail on this song that I feel speaks very well to how Opeth crafts its sound and song structure as a whole.
My neighbors hate me from today on because of the many times I had to turn the volume way up and then the music kicked in blasting through everything in the building. But great video man! Keep them coming. Really nice appreciation from your side.
Hey Remi, in your last Opeth reaction, I think you mentioned hearing something that reminded you of YES. I'm actually really impressed by your observations. YES was definitely one of Mikael's biggest influences! As someone whose top ten includes Gojira, with Opeth being far and away my number, I think I understand what you were saying about Remembrance. Mikael's songwriting and compositions are peak emotional intelligence imho. I realize that doing literally every Opeth song might be impossible... so judging by your reactions so far, I think I can recommend a few that will please you. Keep in mind that Opeth is probably one of the bands where listening to them as an album is probably the best way to consume them, wherever possible... (and studio should always be the first listen!!!) Keep being who you are man, I don’t know you and I’ve only seen a few of your reactions, but you seem to be really down to earth and deep person. On the song, it was based on a friend of his (and a few of her friends) being held hostage to kind a sort of unhinged mental patient, a stranger that held them a knife point. So he made a song of the man and the experience. Basically the soft and hard parts are changes in his moods. He’s preoccupied by a sort of religious ecstasy, however distorted. In his mind he’s “saving” them for the corruption of their bodies. So the music reflects that, jarring at times and super chill the next. It’s almost like the clean voice is the voice in his head and the growls are what he’s saying to the people he’s holding hostage.
It's definitely another epic Opeth song. Music volume is great, but whenever you speak I can't hear you unless I turn my volume up. Then I have to turn it down when you play again.

He as a psychopath drowns someone and doesn't feel the elated feelings he thought he would and deliverance laughs at him because he's not satisfied after the murder. I think you need to read the first part of the lyrics once over (before "all over now/forgotten why/i needed this"
