hey pinacoco! Sorry to bother you about this but I'm currently interested in trying to upload a cover myself but I have like no idea whats going on lol. It is my understanding that I can get a midi file recording from my electronic keyboard, and then I can upload the file to a Synthesia program to play it? I was wondering if that is the process you go through when you upload your covers, and if you bought synthesia. Any insight you could offer would be very much appreciated! Thanks alot mate!
Sorry for the late comment, I didn't get a notification.
I write the MIDI by hand(mouse and computer keyboard) but you can also connect your keyboard to your computer via MIDI cable.
By doing so you can record your key strokes to any recording program to a MIDI format.
You can put the MIDI file into the folder Synthesia supports(Look at the settings in Synthesia) or create a new folder as you wish.
Currently I'm using a free version of Synthesia but I do plan to buy it to support the creators for using this software for so long.
PinaCoco thx so much for the information! Do you happen to have any suggestions for recording programs? Also, does the free version of synthesia allow for midi upload? Because the last time I looked at it it said that was a feature of the paid version. Finally, just out of curiosity, how do you write the midi by hand? Is it a specific program or within synthesia itself?
@@michaelshum1653 I use OBS to capture the display while a song is running.
As far as I know you can upload any song to your Synthesia's songs folder and get the MIDI you want, there are some songs that are locked behind a pay wall but you don't actually need to pay.
I use mixcraft 7 to write my MIDI although there are way better softwares to do so but I just got used to it.
