Although It´s more unlikely we get Simple and Clean Again... specially in a Numbered Title. Like Kingdom Hearts 1 "Simple and Clean", Kingdom Hearts 2 "Sanctuary", Kingdom Hearts 3 "Face my Fears" and "Don´t Think Twice"... I assume that Kingdom Hearts 4 will have a new one since it´s a Numbered Title
That was my thoughts but at the same time I could see it being an ending rather than an intro
Unlikely but not impossible after the secret scene from kh3 remind secret episode, parallels go hard, with them reusing dialogue from beginning to end of a saga I could see them starting a saga in a same same but different kinda way.
Edit; listened to the re-recording, would go crazy as the outro/ credit song, I believe it absolutely fits.
Kh4 is the first game in lost masters
We closed dark seeker saga with 3 so i expect totaly different thing

A new version of Simple and clean in an album with the word FICTION in it, and KH4 will be the 1st game in the new saga just like KH1 was in the DSS (Dark Seeker Saga) AND RELEASES TODAY (or yesterday) 2 YEARS AFTER KH4 IS REVEALED! Tell me this isn't coincidence...
That's right, you CAN'T!!! NOW WHERE IS THE TRAILER!?
Edit: Also, let's not forget about Lauriam and Strelitzia! Unlike the Destiny Trio, their separation was way more unexpected, so the message of departing could also connect with them and now Sora and Strelitzia have to work together if they want to get back home...
I hope this means we are getting close to Kingdom Hearts 4’s release soon

If KHIV’s theme song has been teased then there is still the possibility that the game could come out sometime in mid-late 2025.

On one hand it would be cool to have this new rendition of Hikari/Simple and Clean be used for this brand new arc.
While on the other hand. It would be a bit disappointing that KH2 and KH3 got brand new songs and KHIV was left with a previous one. Granted we could still get a new ending theme like how KH3 got both Face My Fears and Don’t Think Twice.
But imo I don’t think it will be used for KHIV. As we saw with Rebirth marketing, we didn’t get its game theme until the game awards. So it would be really weird that this new album dropped and we barley have gotten any news of the game?
I find it ironic that the albums labeled science fiction and KH4 might take more of a sci-fi theme with the mechs that yazora fights.
There's all these metal bands in my playlist, then there's Utada. Kh got me to delve more into her songs. Traveling, time, goodbye happiness, everybody finds love, they're all so spellbinding.
I hope we get a new trailer this summer. I wanna see a world preview be it Star Wars or whatever they end up doing.
You know, that Parallel theory is amazing. If Kairi doesn't save Sora, thats going to be a major missed opportunity to tie it all together in a pretty bow. Its already bad enough people think that Kairi has 0 character or depth whatsoever, it'll be extremely hard to dodge those allegations now 😅
I think it makes sense to reuse simple and clean/hikari for KH4 especially when considering the Japanese lyrics of the song are 10x more Kingdom Hearts like than both the English version and all of the other KH songs. I'm not going to bore you and translate the whole song but,
Light and darkesss: Check
Hearts being connected even when apart: Check
Fate and destiny: Check
Being lost/stuck: Check
One thing I find the most different between the two versions of the song is that Simple and Clean seems more like it's in Sora's point of view in KH1's ending, but Hikari seems more like Kairi's perspective in KH1. Though I think the lyrics can be reinterpreted as Sora's point of view in KH4 because he's on his own but he's got his bonds from the whole series up to this point, but mainly Riku and Kairi. Though I guess the English lyrics would take something away in this case but not enough to ruin it. I still think Utada will just do a new song for KH4 with it being a numbered title but maybe a new take on the first game's song isn't a bad thing either.

"City of Glass" sounds like the actual world name for Quadratum, in the same vein as Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, The World That Never Was, etc.
KH4 would be like the 5th game having the Simple and Clean intro if it has it of course... Re:Coded had it as well
Simple and clean is my favorite KH song and one of my fav Utada tunes in general but i really hope we get a new theme for kh4

I think this is a classic case of KH fans overanalyzing things that don't need to be overanalyzed. Science Fiction is a greatest hits album, Hikari isn't the only song that was re-recorded on it, but it is 100% one of her greatest hits. In Japan, it was popular even outside of being a KH song. I don't think this says anything at all about what song will be used for KH4, and there's a far greater chance of it being a new song, as every numbered title before this has used a new song. Even if this were a teaser for KH, they would be FAR more obvious about it

I loved watching Utada Hikaru grow as an artist and was estatic when they recently came out as nonbinary. I feel more connected to her than ever and I hope she remains a staple in this series for years to come

It’s sad that the fandom is so thristy for some KH4 news that we are turning towards the opening theme.. great video but this was revealed way to early once again, I hope Nomura makes me eat my words and drops something KH4 related this year
