I tuned in because I saw Channing was being interviewed. I stayed because Mr. Hill was prepared and executed a great interview.
Well said….
Very well said these excuses ain’t gonna cut it
Shoutout to the Charm City Brother!
Channing is the reason everyone is watching this episode 😂
110%
Real talk
FACTS!!! Damn this dude talks to Channing like he isn't doing him a favor
Garuntee you i wouldnt be watching a channing crowder interview on any other platform
%1000
Jay Hill had pressure on the uncomfortable questions at all times!! Much respect for conducting this interview respectfully, questioning the issue, playing both sides and not taking anything less than a detailed answer. Great fucking job
Well said
Def had the right questions
Yea he definitely did awesome!!!
Don't care for him I tried.
naah this little lame dude sucks!!
Give this young man his props, and give Channing his props also for being open, professional, and providing a teaching moment for the young man and many others. Awesome interview.
Channing no matter how Gifted, you and others that believe like you. Keep conducting yourselves in that manner..” NARCISSISTS “ Are Very Normal .And You’re No Special or More Important Than The Next Person Who Believes Their The “ SMARTEST “ In The Room 😊😅
Naw. That dude kept repeating the question and was top confrontational.
I will never watch his podcast again
Yeah this cat is messy and Channing handled it beautifully. Don't know this guy, don't care who he is. Channing is the only Reason I watched this.
I appreciate the way Jay Hill challenged Channing in this interview. Respect
Jay killed this interview, great job!! THAT being said I’ve never heard of him and wouldn’t have tuned in if not for Channing. With THAT being said if Jay presses all interviews like this I will start tuning in.
💯
Jay’s not applying pressure he’s need help with his shit & don’t know how to ask.
Jay major in Baltimore he finally spreading his wings !
@gary Agreed
THAT part
Jay Hill is a great interviewer! He asked very direct question without being disrespectful & said the things openly that everyone else was thinking but afraid to say!
I love that this interview didn’t let Channing off the hook. I finally have clear answers. I can’t listen to either podcast because I loved the original cast so much. Sad, but true. So, great interview - thanks for the closure!
Great interviewer. He never backed down and asked the questions, I think we all wanted to hear.
I love how the questions were straight forward and in good faith. We all knew Channing would answer every answer honestly and be transparent as he always is anyway!!! This interview is GOLD!!!
I came because of Channing. I might watch more because of how Mr Jay conducted and curated the interview. EXCELLENT JOB!
This guy is very direct without being disrespectful and he’s also giving the praise and acknowledgment that he’s a fan and he’s asking the right questions which is key and hard to do keep goin my dude I’m definitely subscribing
Channing is worth
100% of this Episode, Because 100 % of the people watching, are here to see him🔥🍺
Channing is 99.9 % , never heard of Mr . Jay Hill, but give his props, Mr Hill did an excellent job with this interview 👏
"I got 3 more fights left in me, and that's for my daughter's boyfriends." Love Channing!
Another viral moment
Cold. Them boys better be ready.
Chan is teaching people how to set their value. This is huge! Great content Jay.
Especially with that your welcome
And I love Channing but he's wrong. He played in the NFL. He never made the same cut as an NFL owner because he never took the initial risk even though he had value as a player.
He is wrong tho!! Not only did he not pay the cost to be the boss but he forgot it's camera men, producers, fking cooks and janitors!! In that situation he was a worker under contact!! About 12 to 15% would be a fair offer!! Other moving parts involved might push that percentage to 10%!! Its a business!!
@@deondreperkins9182 Good to know some people understand business instead of just picking their favorite characters.
Everyone is speculating, and as far as the show goes, they didn’t button up the business. We know that, but Channing is still on to something with his view point. Go look at the analytics on both shows. It speaks for itself. He right about knowing your value, and I stand on that. Check the views on this channels previous vids. Also, Jay split the vids into segments, and check out those views.
All I’m saying is I see Channing’s points.
Bro! This was an amazing interview! He asked all the questions that I've wanted to ask. I've always enjoyed I Am Athlete. I was perplexed, disappointed and frustrated when the guys split. I've been even more frustrated by the vague answers they give when talking about he split. I'm happy Jay pressed him for straight answers. I originally watched this to see what Channing had to say, having never heard of Jay Hill. However, Jay has impressed me with his skills, conducting the interview in a tenacious yet respectful manner. Now, I'm gonna check out his other videos, too.
Jay content is usually lackluster
He kept repeating the question which was a turn off.
I will never watch his podcast again
Channing is 90% of this interview bc I tuned in bc of him. Salute to this brother in what he has built and what he’s building ❤
We all know this when you state the obvious like this “it seems like hate”
This is accurate
haha for real, never heard of jay hill b4 lol
That’s not how the percentage works. It’s the amount of people that tuned in because of Channing versus how many tubing in because they already watch this podcast
He is not that dude and he was counting B Marsh money. He saw that Brandon and Meechie was making money off of merchandise and everything. I’m sure you got your money worth. Stop playing. This dude is corney, nobody is watching you.
This is a classic and monumental interview. Real men discussing logical things and emotional things. Understanding that controlling your emotions is more important that being “masculine/ have to force your way”
I love that you didn't tip toe around the real question and stood firm on what you were asking,I never knew about this podcast but you definitely have my interest, great interview 🙌🏾🔥🙌🏾🔥🙌🏾 Channing dropped some jewels 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I am here for Channing and glad Jay got the questions we have all wanted to hear , I came for Channing I will be back for Jay
The algorithm brought me here I love the pivot and Channing Jay Hill your interview questions were top-tier, really got down to the nitty-gritty and didn’t sugarcoat I loved it! GREAT JOB! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I like how he is pressing Channing in a respectful manner. Channing did an excellent job explaining the split.
Why are ppl sayin he is pressing Channing..lol fred would beat around the bush Channing don’t care n has no filter
Channing is down to earth
I came across this interview because I watch sports and Channing is attached to sports. I STAYED BECAUSE JAY HILL DID GREAT INTERVIEWING HIM
Salute to the host for askin the real questions & salute to Channing for actually answering
I never seen an interviewer have the balls to be this direct
Welcome to Baltimoree 😂😂
Yea I was over here like damn ! Lol
Lol I was like let’s go !!!
that mean most interviews are bullshit
Some of it was direct and some was passive aggressive
I like how you respectfully challenged him with questions people are scared to ask. Subbed
This One of the BEST interview clips I’ve watched in a while. You gotta bring him back on the show. Try to get Fred Taylor too.
🚀🚀🚀
First video I've seen on yours and an instant follow after this interview. Your questioning was incredible. Channing is Channing no matter the platform, but you played the host role perfectly and extracted crazy gems effortlessly. Well done
Me too, instant follow after the first 15 minutes 💯
If jay keep this energy, when he interviews other people I’m going to stay a subscriber
Yes I went to this podcast for Channing, but Jay Hill killed this interview. He wasn’t afraid to ask the real questions and to not allow played down responses. Good shit my guy!
This interview help connect a lot of dots I was having trouble with. Salute to Channing he got me working on my business model
I'm glad he helped you want to work on your business plan. But don't follow his advice. It's not the best. He has some maturing to do.
@@MsUniqueSparklesI mean we all do in some shape or form but I take everything with a grain of salt ! But he right about developing a better business model structure I’ve been on myself about that lately
@@MsUniqueSparklesagreed
The first interview where the interviewer didn’t sugar coat and asked the questions how they needed to be asked and said what NEEDED to be said.
Jay Hill is not letting him dance! 😂 He choosin to drop certain things to progress the conversation but everything that dont get answered get checked! In a respectful and professional manner at that!! You’ve earned my sub brother, keep goin up widdit
I tuned in because of Channing, but JAY HILL you are really good!
The pivot is the better show imo, its mainly because of ryan and his tv experience, Channing is the comedic relief and Fred is just like that level headed old school guy that asks the intelligent questions but gives that irreplaceable game to you that makes you really think about everything.
super faccs
i think IAA coming back slowly tho, seems like they not doing all the extra stuff no more, plus the cast members beside bmarsh are solid
💯💯💯
Channing has 12 years of radio experience. Doing a daily 4 and 6 hour shows .
Facts. And Brandon was kinda trying to force the whole talk about your feelings and the checking in thing. You can tell they don’t do that but he was trying to push it. It’s one thing to know your boy is struggling and then asking him is everything good but Brandon was just pressing them to be emotional.
There are so many gems dropped in this clip. Channing was a great guest. While I appreciate the stance the interviewer took (from an investigative place), there was a great deal that he could have learned, if he so desired. It’s a wonderful thing to be the “speaker,” and still learn something as if you were the listener. Continued blessings 🙏🏾💞
Agreed. Lots of mental jewels in this clip...
Facts Chan lost me at the 26min mark
Thank you for this interview, it was phenomenal! Real questions and real answers. Had to subscribe.
Love how bold yu were with the questions and subject matter. Great interview 🔥🔥
The reason he asked Channing to be on podcast is because he knew the amount of views that it would bring and help his podcast to grow
I ain’t never heard of you before Channing came on but you got a new subscriber. Like how you interview and don’t hold back in a respectful way
This is what you call a great interview. Tough questions, short and to the point. No dummying down of the questions..
Every time I turn around Jay Hill got a bigger a better interview. So glad to see the growth and progress 🫡
I tuned in bcos of Channing and kept for that reason..but this young man whom I have never seen before, did a fantastic job with his direct questioning and I respect him very much for that.
*Bro, what is "Bcos?"*
Never heard of this guy or his podcast. But I'm sure since I am a huge fan of The Pivot, the algorithms brought me here. Well....he just gained a fan and a sub. Great job!
Damn young fella, you said some real shit on here today. I am a subscriber now. Wow what a way to say what we were feeling
This is a real interview love the honesty between both brothers
Bro Jay Hill CHAN IS RIGHT YOU'RE WELCOME FOR HIM TO BLESS YOUR PLATFORM BECAUSE IF I DIDNT WATCH AND BE A FAN OF THE PIVOT THE algorithm got this to come across my timeline because of watching those fellas so young man be grateful and pump your brakes because Shannon Crowder is blessing you whether you take it or not because before him you was irrelevant and nobody even knew who you were but with Channing Crowder stepping on your platform he shook the algorithm up on UA-cam and got more people to watch it because we're interested in Channing Crowder not of you but it allowed you and he blessed you with his presence so be grateful young man that's all I'm going to say
I came because of Channing. Jay Hill impressed me though. Hope the little dude can keep the great guest coming!
*I love Channing!! I also miss him on I AM Athlete and I hate that the women didn't continue their show. I love their new show and I am enjoying watching him on different platforms. This was a great interview*
This dude different. He presses people like none other. I like this. Far too many podcast allow guests to slide by only asking questions and not pressing the issue. If you have a podcast, you are now part of the media! PRESS!
His interviewing style is refreshing. He’s a natural
This was a dope conversation. Very informative✊🏾
damn this like one of the best interviewers i've seen. great job jay
I like the interviewer alot, i feel like alot of people would feel disrespected if someone told them im 80% of this show, so shout out to Jay being able to respectfully disagree AND not being scared to push the convo forward really good podcast 💯
Channing literally answered the question so many times he went into business with a friend and messed up by not doing the business side right why do y’all keep asking the same question he has said it so many times he’s human !!
Nah he didnt believe in it put no $ in it ..then it blew up

Excellent interview ! Those are the questions everyone wants to hear and the ones he needed to hear!
Awesome interview you did your thing educational, inspirational and entertaining.
One of the best interviews I have heard all year
Interview hit. I swear Jay got the most out of Channing regarding this issue. This joint is know your worth!
Know your worth, but have humidity too. Channing does not. I am convinced, after watching, this interview.
@Nikita Allen, you’re convinced Channing doesn’t have humidity? 😂
I think you mean, Humility. If based on this interview you don’t feel Channing was being real, and open while speaking his truth, we didn’t watch the same show. He showed humility, it may not always have come off as humility or humble, but I feel he was and did a nice job. It’s not easy to sound humble when you’re talking about money, lawsuits, losing friends and a failed business with friends. They’re all passionate, I’m sure. He was honest and in no way putting anyone down. He was speaking truth, as he is learning, he is sharing new wisdom. Both did great. Interviewer was great, he let Channing talk without interrupting like so many idiots on ESPN.
@@sammendoza7168 Thank you for correcting that. Channing did try to downplay what Jay brought to the show. Anytime someone tries to devalue another. That shows a lot about your character. That is what he did. I don't mess with that. I didn't appreciate that. It wasn't me that he was doing it to.
Channing broke it down with numbers that anyone can understand. I appreciate that my guy. You put this in perspective. Now get that back plus %10 and let's start from ZERO. He killed it. Great interview I'm subscribing.
Brandon get 220k in all to bring them to “0”
@@z4bando421 lol
It’s hilarious of the person who didn’t put nothing up front to try to be the one to dictate this “let’s start from ZERO” nonsense… easy to be said by them. I was leaning more toward Fred n Channing before this interview.. this wasn’t a good look. Also Channing doesn’t know the difference between entrepreneur and stock investment. A 10% return is the gold standard for the STOCK game, not business. Him setting a line there showed his hand. Just using the numbers he presented, it sounds like they were trying to get over Brandon instead of the other way around (like I thought before. I thought Brandon was running that Joe Budden bs)… let’s break it down
• Brandon puts up the entire initial investment of $100k (just using the simple numbers given) and Brandon also is the one who assembles the cast, crew, and equipment. Brandon also was the one with the prior recognizable brand and pre-established platform that he’s been working on n building since his on-field football days
• Fred and Channing come in without the burden of funding the venture nor the need for any prior branding (outside of the obvious football cache they had, which doesn’t immediately translate over to media)
• The company goes on to make 3x its initial investment, so $300k (as presented by C).
… Channing now is saying Brandon should be only entitled to a 10% return as if it were a stock? So he’s saying of the 300k pot … Brandon should only be looking to get $110k, which simple deduction lends itself to Fred n Channing n Ocho splitting the remaining $190k 3-ways even (so about $63k each). If your simple minded that seems fair. Brandon gets 110 (37%), Fred 63 (21%), Channing 63 (21%), Ocho 63 (21%). The problem lies where you remember Brandon is starting off in the red 100k bcuz he was the one put up the initial 100… so that leaves him with only $10k in actual profit after the year is over where as his members all taking home over 6x that (bcuz they don’t have an initial investment to recoup) and he was the one who put in the lion-share of building the damn thing. That’s completely nonsensical and unfair. And the whole idea that Channing can now demand to ‘return to zero’ after the risk in the initial investment is resolved is shady too.. like I said, I was on their side at first bcuz they seemed way more genuine but after hearing him talk a bit it sounds like he let his own ignorance with a bit of ego mixed destroy what was built n strain his friendship
Now the return to zero nonsense (which Channing brought as his response to the obvious critique in his point) is just Channing thinking he gets to decide when Brandon’s initial risk is valuable in the breakdown discussions. He wants him to take his initial investment back from the profit get his 10% on top (so $210k out of the $300k n then the 3 others split the rest, 30k each for the first year) and just act like they are back to zero from there and split even from then on (so if they make 300k again, all 4 gets $75k)… NO BUSINESS works like that, NONE. That initial risk + being the one to spearhead the project is literally what affords Brandon his higher percentage throughout the duration of the product run. That risk worth more than just the initial amount put in… that’s the whole point of taking the risk in the first place. It’s a gamble. A measured gamble, but a gamble nonetheless. That’s the whole point of the entrepreneurship game, go big to win big. Ofcourse Brandon plate is gonna be larger bcuz he is entitled a larger plate from the meal (the meal being the product, the show). Now if Fred n Channing were actually business minded like they act like they are.. they would of work out a way to have grander stakes in any expansion the company does like maybe working more closer with the other project in the I AM series (like the one with the NBA players or the women) or make the Pivot as a show under the I AM umbrella which then would earn them a seat at the big boy table and maybe they can start talking that equal share nonsense. But that’s not what they did. They (and Brandon) just started getting emotional and disrespecting each other (Channing’s words) and blew the whole thing up
I can’t believe through this .. I’m starting to understand crazy ass Joe Budden a bit better in his fiasco. He still a nut tho…
damn this interview was crazy good. Channing really came strong
Best interview ive seen in a long time. Gret job.
This is a great interviewer with an engaging subject. You have to appreciate it on both sides.
Channing 100% got me watching 29 minutes in with all due respect ✊🏾
Never heard of Jay but he did a good job. This interview gave me a different perspective on Chan. I really only saw him as just comic relief but this interview showed that he is so much more. Smart, confident and a solid businessman.
Sounds like Chan was saying B had to pay the talent that was making the show successful, but B wanted to grab his bag 1st.
He 100% the reason why I watched lol no disrespect
Channing was 100 % why I tune in but that number went down by u being a great interviewer and your questions which will make me watch more of your content 💯
Damn thank you so much!
i tuned in for the beef and stayed for the wisdom! Amazing Interview on both parts!!!
I love how we get to hear conversations from our people like this more often now.
Without Channing’s name in the title….I would’ve NEVER watched it. Solid show though…. Wishing you well on the comme up!
Never!
You got that right!
I watched it because he was on it. But it wasn't about him. I really wanted to know about IAA.
Jay hill gives the vibe that he just graduated high school and doesn’t quite understand how the real world works yet😂
Fantastic Interview! All the right questions, and mature discussion.
I like young boy, he’s asking all the nitty gritty questions for clarity and educational purposes
Also “conflict resolution” is a big part of the question. Sometimes walking away and creating new value elsewere is a solution. Although I would love to see a sit down between the pivot and I am Athlete.
Not gone happen.👎🏾👎🏾🤔🤔
I think Brandon Marshall burned that bridge for that to happened.
Brandon started seeing that pod money and started getting on his JELLY ROLL🗣‼️🤣🤡
I initially watched this episode because of Channing but I am ver impressed by this interview no punches being pulled and no egos involved just honesty best conversation about this situation I have seen. The one thing that I thinks has to be looked at if Channing said let’s get to zero after that point it should have been an even split all those men held equal value plus Brandon was making more of it because it heavily promoted is training facility and his clothing brand. The pivot is special and closer to what i am athlete was but I don’t know that it’s on that level I am athlete was completely today I am athlete is sad she’ll of itself with a bad balance of personalities that in no way promote the black male unity that the original did it’s all about crazy work and pac man mentioning his criminal past and delusion of who he was as a player.
😂😂😂
The PAC man comment took me out😂
Never seen this postcast before but shoutout to the host for his questions and his ability to let the guest have the floor to express themselves
I loved this interview. This is my first time watching and I’m subscribing as soon as I finish this post… He asked very direct questions and Channing didn’t back away from anything. The way Channing broke down telling B. Marsh to recoup his entire investment + 10% (zeroing everything out) and THEN they split the profits evenly (I still feel like B. Marsh’s split should be a little bit higher because he started the show) it all makes a lot more sense than what some of the other interviews are saying the issue was. Great job Jay Hill, I wish you continued success and you got you a sub today!
Channing knows his value.. I'm watching because of Channing but both personalities are great.. I don't know if i would have found this channel otherwise.., but its a great channel
To be honest Channing is what brought me here … I’ve seen the interviewer before but barley know him but he did great conducting this interview
Love how Jay handled this interview! Just subscribed!
Channing is absolutely correct. You don’t do business deals without knowing your percentage period. It’s even more of a point not knowing what the business is making as a whole because you can’t evaluate the big picture correctly. Bottom line know your worth because if you don’t I promise you other people will take advantage an lowball your ass every time. I’m currently in a business with a childhood friend an I can tell you for sure being 100 percent transparent is the best thing you can do. Now I will say if Brandon invested everything money wise he deserves a slightly bigger cut because he took the whole risk initially in my opinion. If it goes under I doubt they would of have him any money back in return on some real real shit. However this is why it’s important to have all this worked out before you ever start anything so it don’t get messed up.
Get
I got into a business and the guy I was partnering with would never talk about the percentage. He'd always try to change the subject or just say "don't worry ima take care of you" and blah blah blah. I started getting skeptical and sure enough a few months into it once the money started rolling in and he was buying all kinds of new stuff meanwhile I was stuck with a regular salary check (that wasn't that much). So I asked him about getting my cut of the profit and the MFer said to me "I'm the one who built all this, this is my money"... I never wanted to knock somebody out so bad but that over the phone so I called him every word I could think of and then some and walked out leaving "his" business empty and unlocked and didn't tell him 😂😂😂
I saw him years later and threw a fake punch at him as he walked by me at the mall. He flinched like a bitch and kept walking and I said yeah that's what I thought. Doesn't get my money back or make anything right but damn it felt good to see him scared for a second like that lol.
Anyway moral of the story is NEVER trust somebody who won't talk the percents upfront before u start anything with them. It'll NEVER end well.
I am sorry. If Brandon is paying per episode, you are an employee, not an investor.
@@CornPopWazABadDude100% on this take. Absolutely agree. If you don't ask about percentages, then don't cry later when you get left in the cold. If you ask and they don't want to discuss is with you, your gonna be left out in the end 100% of the time. Never gonna profit from a situation like that.
Brandon gotta learn working with friends and being successful is priceless.
J Hill is the most honest interviewer in media. I’m here for it. Rumble young man rumble.
Great conversation! You hit Channing with solid questions. 👍
This is the exact interview I needed to hear. Salute. Perfect Interview 💪👍✊
If what Channing said was the way it all started and how it went down, it just goes to show you how much B Marsh valued their friendship. I wouldn’t want to have the most food on my plate, I’d want all of us to eat!
You don't know business then. I don't like B Marshall. I personally know a girl he dated and he is scum and has an domestic abuse history. However in this case he "originally" came up with the idea of the show and put up the initial investment. Channing is way off on this one, he shouldn't get a significant less cut based how how this whole thing started.
Exactly
He is wrong though. Brandon 100k investment was real skin in the game and they did not have ANY RISK. In fact, he just said it was a strategic benefit for him to promote his other ventures. So they should have definitely had ownership but not equally as Brandon. At least not right away until renegotiations
@@bdub-er5090 I can definitely see it from that angle bro! I just hate how it all went up in smoke and the show that once was killing every podcast out there is a mere shell of its former self
@@jewel6799true most of the time, but you can have fun if egos are checked at the door. If you know what your getting into, then let it all be the same from step in to check out.
IAA introduce us to Channing which I can say made me and other people watch more. Fred was the wise man and Chad was the realist and Brandon was the emotional leader who cares about how men have real conversation on mental health.
I wish they’ll get back cool
@@DAllenT89 I believe B Marshall wanted the bigger percentage to support the IAA center for future athletes. I don’t see anything wrong with that, he just need to share his vision and agree on how much extra he need to make it work.
Facts!
They all brought different values to the show. No one was bigger than the other. I learned a lot from this interview. They broke up like all groups break up. One or more thought he was the biggest star. Pride and ego mess up a good thing every time.
@@DAllenT89 naw Brandon disrespected their worth just because they didn't see his vision 100%...regardless of that you still have to be respectful in business

He made a great point. Channing was in media for 12 years and never had a platform like IAA. I never heard of Channing and Fred. RC deserves 70%
Dope interview! My thoughts with the Brandon and Channing issue, while we all admire them and look up to the great work they did the key take-away is they are human. Sometimes we put greatness on a pedal stool but everyone falls short, eventually.
Mr. Jay Hill straight outta bmore now you got some momentum keep it going and dropping more great interviews. Thank you Channing 😂

I tuned in for Mr. 80%. I subscribed because of Mr. 20%!
This is def one of the best unplanned watches interviews I’ve seen in a long time.
What I take from hearing Channing's version and Brandon's version, I can conclude that Channing was wrong in this situation from a business standpoint. He has his personal views and he should stand by them but he can't expect a business owner that invested all the money, and took all the initial risk to ever do an even split with him. What he didn't mention was that Brandon have him the option to invest and he chose to take a per episode payment, but once the show blew up, he wanted to see the numbers. That's not how business works, but it's no problem with him understanding his worth and wanting to be paid accordingly, but the one who puts up the money and take the risk, makes the rules...
This is how you do an interview. Way to ask those real questions.
