Can't wait to get one of these. I have so many unecessary head movements and jerks from my cords. Not to mention them showing up in mixed reality. Thanks for the thorough review, my man!
Ok! Finally! The content of the mysterious package has been revealed! :D Thanks for sharing your setup and first time experience with us! As a VR developer, it would be a huge improvement for me to use the HMD wireless at all times! (excluding possible battery related issues). As a VR user, it would be absolutely more fun for me wireless! No boundaries, turn around myself as much as I'd want to, no entanglements! xD But (and here comes the biggest but)... The price... Yes, the technology is great. Perhaps other better technologies will arrive in the future solving the same problem. But when the pocket says no, it's no. There is no way I would pay more than 100 Euros for that great content, great quality, and the great freedom, coming in that package. It's too expensive to move away from the cable.
Thanks for the video. It''s great that you used the standard Vive. Have you noticed any heat coming from the adapter or the battery? Also, can you still supersample using it? Thanks!
@@Tyrielwood lol yeah. Saw a tweet not too long ago of a bald guy who burnt his head with it. Maybe using that head cushion is a good idea after all lol
@@germanrifter2117 yep! That was brutal! The problem is that with the DAS they don't give you any additional cushion and the included one it's really not enough, I think it could be related to the position of the transmitter as well, because like a phone, if it has to seek for connection every time, it makes more heat, I need to try different setups and compare it

Agreed. But in order to get to our 20k future it requires us to go through this "infant" stage of VR. Can't wait to see the future for VR, I bet it'll be amazing.
In a 100 years we will experience this technological evolutuon again through a matrix style gaming experience. Roleplaying through the 2020s is gonna be amazing.
Thanks for the video but.. meh, it's a very bad solution... from every aspect in my opinion, just like the TPCAST, I'll still stick with my WMR headsets until something better comes out :)
Hi. I have the standard Vive and got the wireless adaptor but it didn’t come with that cable that you have to plug it into the Vive. Where do you get that from? It only had the charging cable for the battery and 2 other cables that are meant I plug into the Vive. But I need that short cable you have that had the 3 things to plug in from the headset to the wireless adaptor.
hi so im curius do u by chance know if i can use an 100W PD 25600 mAh powerbank for the wireless adapter? for the vive pro 2 headset?? and is it safe to use an usb to usb c adapter?? also i loved the video it was realy helpful to set up the wireless adapter :) hope u also have a wonderfull day
Hey Tyriel , do you think we can hook up the vive cooler fans to this adapter and on a the Vive pro, I'm getting my wireless kit later today and would like to get the fans to keep the lens from fogging up and figured that the adapter has the usb available as I'll be using the pro connection, you don't own the fans to test this out do you?
I have a multi-monitor setup (4 of them) along with my Vive, but the GTX1070ti that I have in my gaming PC only supports 4 displays total...which means I have to choose between plugging in my Vive to the HDMI port or running my 4th monitor. If I get this, would it free up that HDMI for my 4th monitor....or would the GTX1070ti still count the display output from the PCI slot of the wireless card as one of th 4 total?
actually I tried it, and then I took it off from the video, that is what I was thinking too, but under the foam there is a plastic clip that doesn't let you do it, or at least it's not comfortable anymore if you do it. so that's their way.. very well thought.. (sarcastic of course)
@@Tyrielwood Thank you, The steam VR error with the Pro; I already found that the cable that came with the additional adapter kit is different from the original one (long one) and mandatory, will be great if you post an update about that, thanks again
unfortunately not.. they use proprietary technology.. also another problem is that the O+ doesn't have a removable cable.. Let's hope that wireless VR will come to WMR soon as well
So will this wireless adapter work with the Vive pro as well? You said you tried and it didn’t work? I’d like to eventually go cordless with my pro, constantly tripping and getting wrapped up in the pro cord ruins the immersion.
@@Tyrielwood have you tried other batteries? I got what I thought was told work but they not QC3 but wondering if connect to vive battery to charge that battery will it still work?
Well I finally got to try the Vive wireless on the Pro, first let me say I have a few different PC's and this one is the lowest specs, a amd 8370 cpu, rx 580 gpu 16gb. now connected wired runs good, but with the wireless I felt like I was looking at a sega genesis game back in the day, very choppy resolution, walking around was fine so you definitely will need a powerful CPU for sure. I will re test on my other pc which has a i5 6600k with 1070 if anyone cares.
twitter.com/Tyrielwood/status/1053757977881182208 , I have to play more with it, but I'm probably gonna make a video about it! Thanks for sharing the pics!
Uh... I won’t be getting this. There’s no way I’d be able to take my laptop apart and put it back together. I once tried taking a PS3 apart to clean it and I ended up breaking it. Though I do need something like this so I’m not tripping over a long cord while playing.
Just open it up first and see if you have any spare space for it first, let us know how you go. If there is too much dust I suggest giving it a quick rinse with a hose to clean it out.

how can i do this i dont have pci port
You can’t, you would have to get a 3rd party wireless adapter
HTC Vive Pro with cable or OG Vive without?? What do you think? :)
Tyriel Wood i would like it without cable, because then i could get more freedom
