Hey Brenna, my name is Harry and I live in Newcastle on the east coast of Australia as well and like you i have experienced mice in my familys draws. I just would like to say your vides havw given me a sense of understanding vanlife. Im 15 yearw old and my dad is a teacher so we get holidays but when i was older i wantee to have my own van like you. I have watched your vids for a long time but i have been embarrassed to comment since im only 15. Thank you 😊
Hi Brenna, good to see you again, love your upgrades, everything looks so tidy now & easy to get to. Wishing you safe travels & see you soon, Elaine from Brisbane.
The bucket toilets can come in handy as a little "hide the valuables ".. Place the thing you want to keep secure in bucket- put plastic bad in bucket- place fake doggy poo in it.. if you really want to up the disgust and aversion of anyone looking through your stuff place a couple of pads with red/ brown food colouring smeared on them and NOBODY is going to be reaching in lol😂
So mice, bugs and snakes don't like strong smells as it interferes with their abilities to navigate etc. A little recipe I have found and I can't say for sure works, but so far all is good at my place. In an organza bag put a star anise, tablespoon red pepper flakes, tablespoon of cloves and a cinnamon stick. Crush the cinnamon stick a little. Vinegar is supposed to work well too but not a nice smell for you in such a small space. Another you can try but it's not so long lasting, in a small bowl or the cut off bottom section of a plastic drink or water bottle, place about 2 inches of toothpaste, any toothpaste. Add tablespoon of straight disinfectant and stir until well mixed. Place on a shelf. The box over the wheel well, mine has a hinged door that folds down to the floor and it provides me with extra storage space for sewing kit, pegs, string for clothes line, shoes etc. Don't waste valuable space, you'd be amazed of what you can get in there, beside and in front of the wheel well.
Your van is slowly turning into a rolling art studio. LOL! Which is all kinds of cool, really. Hehe. So good to see you in my feed again! It’s been awesome knowing what you’ve been up to all this time via your Patreon, but it’s also great to see a video from you. Yay! 😊
So great to see your video and all the changes you've made! Definitely will make life in the van more workable. You are so good at creating solutions - imaginative and skilled - well done!!!
Brilliant van video Brenna! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your van? So we can hear how it sounds! 😁
There’s a Japanese fella that has a Hiace he’s fitted out, looks really nice. I think his is more a holiday camper or weekends away but it could give you a few ideas for yours. His is called Little Camper.
You have been a busy lady, Brenna. Some wonderful upgrades you have made to make your life more comfortable. Have never seen the water jug you have acquired. Looks quite nice for your needs! And the tent suite looks much nicer and easier to use than those foldup ones. Would love to see your art work. Do you post that somewhere? Love to hear from you. Blessings, dear lady!! 😊
Yay Brenna is back! Can't wait to see more of your videos, even if it's vlogging simple things, or perhaps even a video dedicated to you doing your art?
Loved your video today. I've taken notes for storage solutions ... that book bag is awesome, and I will be using it that idea. Those little boxes that you used for your paint tubes - I will put my pens/markers in them! I loved the shoebox's!! Thanks so much. I look forward to the arrival of my RV MoHo next year as well. Looking forward to your review of the new power system. I'm still working on my power needs LOL.
Wonderful to see you ! Great changes, you have done. Isn't it amazing how your van & you seem to grow & change together? That's what we have found in the three years we have had him.
That folding loo looks great, but how tall is it? I have bad knees so, at times, my Luggable Loo is too short. Great mods. I especially like the coloured border over your curtains to the front of the van. I'm glad I saw your video in the suggested viewing. I am subscribed, but UA-cam hasn't given me a notification yet. Jon in rural BC, Canada
I don't I know if you have a product where you are it's called damp rid or dri-z- air. Look it up to see what it does. I hope you are able to use this idea.
So glad to see you Brenna, Im watching this video in my van right now! I really think your ideas are great, ive incorporated the dehumidifiers you mentioned a few videos ago, and every time you upload i get a new ideas on now to upgrade my van! thanks! be careful of the hinges on your ensuite! i have the same one, it got stuck and i was a bit too rough with it and broke it, still works but its a bit janky now
Thanks for the shout-out, Brenna! How good is the Dometic tap and the water jug??! I still truly love mine after **checks own videos** almost a year now!! They’re definitely an investment, that’s for sure, but one that I feel is absolutely worth it.
Great to see you on the road again. Thanks for all news of your upgrades. Glad you've got more room for your art supplies. I was about to message you about your power station, so I'm looking forward to the review. Safe travels west again!
Hi Brenna, Great to see you are back! Have really been enjoying watching all of your videos. You are inspiring :) . Try Oil of Cloves to help keep mold out of your van. It works wonders for keeping mold at bay and killing spores. Cheers :)
Take time and spray the food container s sfter your done getting your food out snd there closed including the dog food box with your water vingar spray and wipe off it removes the sent of food
Yay!! Have missed your vlogs Brenna! Good to see you back on the road. I have finished one house sitting stint in Victoria and am now doing another central NSW coast. I’m not that long full timing in my Hiace but I know I will definitely be adopting a couple of your suggestions. I’m carrying too much water also and have been struggling with the 10 litre containers from Bunnings that have a tap at the bottom - do not buy these unless you want to spill water everywhere. I will definitely get the Dometic set up you have, looks great. Good toilet tip also but I have the metal frame folding one which isn’t too bad…. Thanks for being such great inspiration and sharing such great advice!!!! 👏🏼🥰
@@BrennaLivingJoyfully I was using 5 litre containers when I lived in my tiny house and they suited me well; not too heavy and small enough to store etc. I was deceived by the stupid inadequate “tap” on the bigger ones so lesson learned. Looking forward to your Ecoflow review as that’s my next purchase.
Loved the video: the upgrades, your excitement and how you modified things for how you live. That en suite is wonderful!! ***edited to ask for a future Q&A ... is deploying and then storing the en suite easy-medium-challenging?
Hi Brenna and Abby... fantastic upgrades and adjustments to your van and perfect timing as I'm currently fitting out my 'new to me' van. Its great to have advice from your experience of what works and what doesn't space wise. I look forward to your next video. Once you cross the back to WA will you continue van life? WA is your home state isn't it thats why I ask 😊 You sound so happy to be back in your van ☺️
Love your upgrades particularly the collapsible toot…I’m getting one 😊 Won’t your tootsies get muddy when you take a shower in the new awning? Good to carry the awning outside though when you have limited space. Love your vids ❤️
Is there any reason you don’t have lithium batteries that charge from your motor? Rather than the delta 2. You could run everything from a 200ah y with a dc to dc charger and some usb or 240 plugs installed? Just wondering that’s all. You could keep the battery u der you bed it has a smaller footprint than the delta 2 and charges via the engine.
I know nothing about electrical wiring so I prefer to use a power station with everything I need. It does charge from the motor as well as solar and plug into the wall. I especially love the portability.
@@BrennaLivingJoyfully that's interesting. I've lived out of a van for 18 months through all weathers and flying insect densities but I'd always keep the outside option available.
I have mice off and on in my rural NW Montana home and they have NEVER eaten through plastic bins of a type similar to what Brenna showed ... maybe my mice are weak ??? They have eaten through dog/cat food bags AND through coat pockets which had kibble treats :(. Similarly, I store garbage in my garage (waiting to go to dump) in plastic bins and no issues ... they were obviously eating through garbage bags. At any rate, if a person has pets, they need to store food and I think that robust, sealed plastic bins/containers are the way to go.

Hi Harry, thanks for your comment. I think it’s wonderful that you want to live in a van. It is a great way to explore this beautiful country.
They say to also get lights under and around your van 🚐 to keep mice away ❤

Glad you like the potty Brenna, only had to once :) Lovely modifications and can't wait to see. Hope to see you again soon xxx
Great. Giving me ideas for my vw van. I do have a rock and roll bed. Wonderful. You have a seat and double bed.

Hi Brenna, With the ecoflow power station how long can your fridge last before recharging the ecoflow again
It really depends on the weather conditions and how full the fridge is and how many times you open the fridge.
