This song is SO painful to listen to. It has multiple different meanings to me, but one of them is that in my eyes, the meaning of the song is how bad things happen, and people will hurt you, but you have to keep trying and stay true to yourself.
This video broke my heart. You're a very strong person to be able to talk about your wife and be vulnerable like that, and I admire it. And there were also my deep buried Frerard feels that I thought were gone... Damn.

I never had the chance to see them in concert even though they came here (Mexico) twice, I think. But luckily Gerard (vocals) has his own project now and in 2014 I saw him. Frank (guitarist with lots of tattoos) has his own band and I saw him in 2015, still doesn't compare of My Chem. You should check their new music. Gerard Way's songs "No Shows" and "Millions". They are all still good friends the singer and bassist are brothers touring took a toll on the singer Gerard and he struggled with addiction and depression. It just all took its toll and they had to stop before it caused permanent damage.
My friend Summer committed suicide in late 2015. This song was playing when her parents found her, now every time I hear this song I always start crying.

Frank, Gerard, Mikey, and Ray all stayed friends after the disbandment of the band. They didn't really break up, they just stopped being a band. Breaking up implies an argument or fight, but they just ran out of original ideas they were happy with to keep evolving the band, so they have disbanded and gone their separate ways musically, at least until they come up with more ideas, like how everyone but Mikey has been talking about getting back together, and Mikey will probably come around soon.
Its actually quite interesting apparently they are all still in contact and friends the rythym guitarist actually said he called the main guitarist a 'high sauce wizard'. They also have gone to each others showsvand regularly show support for their new projects.

I feel you on the loss of your wife. Its never the same experience with losing loved ones but when I was 25 I lost my mother to a blood disorder that caused her blood to clot. It was her 8th stroke that took her. Even after a replacement heart valve and blood thinner, they couldn't keep it in check. This song came out less than a year before and I really hadn't heard it much beforehand, but after her passing I found myself unable to keep from bawling when I would hear it. Prior to her death I had spent the last year of her life working 2 states away, so I never had a lot of time to visit her. I felt horrible knowing that I would never get that time back and even hated myself for ever leaving her side. MCR were a band that could bleed through the speakers and perfectly describe the feelings that at the time I thought no one could.
