Blake wanted this to be her Barbie moment, Justin wanted to highlight the reality of DV. Blake has used everything she can to draw attention and talk about HER brands and HER husband's movie, Justin has only shared DV links and recovery supports. Money speaks and everyone else is listening to the actual conversation going on.

This gives me the sense that Justin knew this wasn’t going to go well and is preparing for a wave of criticism with the lawyer things. Idk tho. I feel bad for him. Blake and Ryan are rlly that annoying rich married couple who are so out of touch with reality and think they are so hilarious. Blake looks like a woman who’s been able to get away with everything her whole life bc she’s white, blonde and hot. I bet she drinks wine with her friends and complains about her children and husband and has a “live laugh love” sign. Just bad vibes.

Black is doing a terrible job promoting this movie. Wanting to make it about women's empowerment only, talking about the wardrobe repeatedly, wanting to make it a Barbie movie moment all while ignoring the real message that's so misleading, and on the other hand, pushing Justin away like that is so unprofessional and weird.

I do not know how she got the role, how it was pitched to her and even like... how she thinks this even relates to Barbie
She seems a bit sheltered and it appears that her life mostly revolves around her family life, nothing wrong about that. She usually does her research when taking a role but I do not know what happened this time around. She looks uncomfortable with press
She is quite a bubbly person but this movie has nothing bubbly about it, maybe that is why it clashes. Honestly I have not read the book but I ve seen some comments and description of the story, I do not know if she was fit for the role - you might say a good actor always knows how to work around the character the story, the message and I agree. Maybe we need to see the movie to see how she does, but I would also understand if the detachment she shows drives people away this time

It’s nice seeing people’s ulterior motives get exposed. Blake and Ryan tried to recreate Barbenhemmier while being very insincere in their publicity tour. While Colleen went from being besties with Justin when the film was in its early stages of pre production, to icing him out so she could cozy up with Blake. These people thought they could be calculated in their moves and the real irony is, it looks like both Colleen and Blake are the ones who need a crisis PR firm and not Justin.

It’s weird but since J Baldoni bought the rights for the book and has been an advocate against DV for years I think he wanted to use the hype of the book to advocate for the victims, and if you see him on the press tour that’s what he has done, and I guess that’s where « the creative differences » between him and BL have started. Apparently according to insiders she has hired behind the director’s back ( JB) her own editing team and done her own cut of the movie ( she is one of the producer of the movie ) which was presented at screen tests but was ultimately not chosen by the public !

I feel like Justin saw the book for what it was- domestic violence whereas Colleen and Blake wanted the book to be about a beautiful woman with a man who loves his wife so much that he’s willing to become violent, obsessive, and abusive. And they think that women like that… unfortunately, Colleen and Blake may not have the depth to understand the toll emotional manipulation has on the psyche. So the way they’re viewing all of it is just… romantic.

I've seen a theory floating around that Justin Baldondi has probably been the first person not to put up with Blake’s shit which is what could have started the rift, while the rest of the cast is clearly on her side. It makes the most sense.
Justin Baldoni takes his projects very seriously so for someone to come onto set and try to control something he got the rights for is crazy and entitled. Especially having her husband rewrite a scene. It's so strange that this is the first cast to have issues with him well the cast from Jane The Virgin and Five Feet Apart (his project) loved working with him. It doesn't take logic that the cast and author would side with the power couple.

I feel as though she initially tried to get close with him to make changes, and when he put up boundaries and told her no that’s when she started alienating him. She does not understand what it’s like to live in a world where you can’t get your way.

Also a narcissist with this superior complex will always think the people around them are dumb so she prob thought her ideas were better than Justin’s and didn’t like that he felt he could say no to her. And her life style company, where she marketed Southern Belle, pre-civil-war aesthetics? And that she called that company „preserve“ even?

Yea we're more than the abuse but it fucking stays with you for life and its difficult to live through and dissociate from reality and be confused while feeling love/hate for your abuser. It seems that Justin came in to this after interest in the book in 2019 with the best of intentions and the desire to portray and focus the movie around a serious issue: DV.
It also seems that once Blake took over the leading actress role, it changed.
And curious that Justin (a man) is taking the role and the responsibility more seriously than Blake (a woman) around the DV issue.
It’s embarrassing to see her promote her businesses and herself piggybacking off of this movie. And the casual, aloof interviews with Blake in them does not touch on DV at all.

CoHo’s habit of romanticizing abusive relationships and being out of touch with these issues is something that’s always bugged me-I've read three of her books, so I know. But what really gets me is how Blake and the rest of the cast are handling this situation. Sure, it's great to say that "domestic violence doesn’t define a person," but that doesn’t mean we should just brush it under the rug. Recognizing the abuse is the first step; only after that can someone start to fight, move on, and find themselves again. It’s crazy that they don’t seem to get this-it really feels like they’re coming from a place of privilege.
And let’s not forget how the abuser in the movie is the one being pushed aside and painted as the bad guy in real life just because he disagrees with Blake. It’s like the roles are flipped in real life, and that’s just messed up.

English is not the interviewer’s first language and idioms are often challenging in any second+ language. Lively didn’t display a single shred of grace or humility. This is who Blake Lively is at her core. She thinks this behavior is perfectly acceptable. As someone who loved watching Gossip Girl in high school (not really sure what else she’s been in…), I’m really disappointed to learn this about her.
As for her massive self-promotion through this movie, I’d assume she’s self-aware enough to realize she’s not exactly the best actress in her field and needs a few side hustles just in case those roles become even less frequent.

I know that because she's written Male Leads that R-word and SA the female and they end up together. And because the second book of this series litterally just puts the @buser as having complete unfettered access to the MC, no restraining order, he has a key to her home, or wherever she is most of the time, people invite the MC to go placed and neglect to tell her that her @buser is going as well- and she's fine with it.

4:11 she shouldn’t have made a joke here, but at the same time, this question is so inappropriate. She should have responded something along the lines of being pleased to bring this issue more mainstream, but she is not qualified to counsel, talk, or handle trauma and would suggest contacting these resources... the joke was poor, but the question was wildly inappropriate

Not Blake trying to emulate ScarJo, when being asked about her underwear and diet.
You were in a period movie sweetie, OF COUSE they will ask about the wardrobe. Mean girl behavior, alongside Parker Posey, who I thought her mean girl demeanor was acting... apparently not 😒

Honestly ever since the first Deadpool I've had a weird feeling about Ryan and Blake. Then when i watched A Little Favor I had this feeling that Blake was alot like that character in real life because she played it so effortlessly... now it's absolutely solidifying the feelings I had.

I've only seen her in Gossip Girl and always thought she's only playing herself, too.

i’d never be able to get myself to watch or read it ends with us. The rest of the cast could’ve easily educated themselves on the reality of DV. They could’ve brought so much good awareness to this topic. Press should’ve been all about resources, support and love for those who suffer. It’s a slap in the face for it to be so romanticized and taken lightly

As a DV survivor, I am so disappointed at the way the women in this movie have let us down,

As a DV survivor who didn't read the book, i appreciate the research done and the awareness spread.
