Mate, it was a great performance. Dominant and the positive commentary by two legends was well deserved. Been watching your channel for years now and you’ve inspired me to get back into Muay Thai & BJJ after not doing any combat sports for 4 years or so! Used to box for the British Military and point style kickboxing before that when I was a teenager. Been back at it for a year now!
I like how watching and listening to the comments from these two legends and reviewing them by yourself can teach us a lot! I want to watch more content like that!
Congratulations Gabriel you are an incredible fighter and more importantly you are a good human being. This is one of the best channels on UA-cam with the best community. You and your lovely wife Rachel are the most genuine positive people I've ever met
It's interesting to learn you do some type of disconnect when you go into the fight because you don't like to hurt others. That was one of the reasons I didn't compete much. I just don't have the drive to hurt others unless is a self defense situation or I'm defending others.
Yaaayyyy!! 🥰😂 I was really excited for this video because I loved their comments during the fight and had actually wondered what you would have thought/felt about what they were saying. I'm loving this.
I'm awfully surprised at how educational this was. I also thought I was the only person in the martial arts world who doesn't enjoy hurting people/have quite some issues with it. I really like Gabriel.
Why would you think that you're the only one who doesn't like hurting people and has some issues with doing so? I know quite a few people who train in the martial arts and are the same way. Any of them would still hurt people if it's necessary, he just wouldn't enjoy doing it. Granted, not a popular stance, doesn't seem macho enough and doesn't do much to promote professional fights.
The moment a respectful, soft-spoken fighter says, "The compassionate half of me that doesn't want hurt my opponent kind of gets thrown away, and I just think 'you know, I don't care if I hurt this guy'", that's when it's time to be afraid. It's great to see your reactions to the what the commentators are saying and that you learn from listening to them, as well as the obvious and mutual respect that goes on between you. In boxing and kickboxing matches, the disrespect of audiences sometimes really annoys me. Nearly none of them would have the guts to step into a ring, and yet they boo fighters who've been training for years and who are risking their health to fight for their entertainment...even if I don't like a fighter, I'd never boo them. I wouldn't dare to step into a ring, they do, and I respect them for it. That's why I always like seeing fighters and commentators being respectful to each other, because they know what it's like to step into a ring. At the same time, I also like that you're confident enough to say, "Yes, I want the card to revolve around me and be that big main event." I think your approach of earnestly working your way toward it while clearly stating your goal is a fantastic approach, because you truly want to earn it, rather than feeling entitled to it. Even though I'm not exactly a martial artist myself (primarily a fencer with some krav maga), I absolutely consider your attitude towards it inspiring.
Great to see a nice guy doing great in a pretty brutal game. Been loving your videos , I find it relaxing when you analyse and break stuff down. I think You should take this beyond fighting one day and cover more general life, you are an interesting fella! Keep it up and have a merry Xmas!
The most interesting fight will be Gabe vs. Edgars Skrivers. They have somewhat similar styles and Skrivers is another ice cold dude. That's the one I'm really looking forward to.

Fun video 🙂 And cool to hear what you said about having good (great) technique lines up with my thoughts. Some of the people I train with tease me about how much of a form perfectionist I can be, but my perspective on it is that your form in a fight isn't going to be better than what it is in practice, so might as well practice being as perfect as possible to bring up the performance floor when you're dealing with all the extra variables in live action.
That's amazing that everyone's recognizing that HEFTY power u carry with u and this new karate/kickboxing fusionstyle is insane and personally I'm all here for it❗️
Hey Gabriel, well done. You are a true inspiration. Quick question, and apologies if you covered it already in other videos, why have you chosen karate combat i/o one ? Thanks and keep it up!

Great to hear your thoughts on the commentaries Gabriel, thanks for sharing. I believe the Hannibal comment might have been in the pre-fight breakdowns, before any of the bouts as they were predicting each bout?
Great fight! By the way, is it really only knee on the belly that is possible? Because basically same principles apply on example knee on thigh etc. Point being if you have anyway only couple of seconds to ground and bound, no point using too much time to try to get perfect control position. Any position where you can apply pressure and control would work for a moment. Strictly speaking 12:45 some of your strikes were illegal because knee on the ground, but you could have easily smashed your knee on your opponents thigh
