@@legionarybooks13 Ashley doesn't have a lot more growth, she grows out of her racism by the end of ME1 and she's way more bland than Kaidan in 3. She's reduced to a shallow shell of her former self thanks to the writers who wanted to "give her sex appeal". Kaidan in ME3 has more cutscenes, more dialogue with other squadmates and overall more content than Ashley. He becomes a major, then a spectre, he leads his own biotic team and he actually has growth regarding his stance on Cerberus which Ashley doesn't get.
Wrex is so canonically strong that he only could be a squadmate in the first game otherwise you wouldn't need a lot of the squadmates you get in the second.

I mean gameplay and lore are highly different to be fair. For an example Edward kenway from Assassin's creed could solo armies in black flags gameplay but he wouldn't last 2 seconds against Eivor or Alexios.
@@FutureIndustrieseditzIt's true that gameplay can be inconsistent when it comes to properly rank characters, especially when you take into consideration how it's possible to build a character in a couple of different ways (prioritising defense over damage, power damage Vs power recharge etc) but that doesn't mean that it should be entirely ignored. You can't really account for gameplay here though because the rankings would be widely different. Case in point, Kasumi is hands down one of the best squadmates in ME2 simply because of how well her mechanics synergize with Vanguard. Meanwhile, Ashley is practically useless because she's just severely outclassed in both ME1 and ME3. For a lore accurate list, this is pretty spot on.
Another detail about Samara that wasn’t mentioned was she fought Nihlus, another SPECTRE for over a week in a jungle, which ended in a stalemate because Nihlus put Samara in a situation where she had to save civilians or kill him, showing Nihlus feared for his life. Also Wrex killed a Thresher Maw, BY HIMSELF while Shepard had Grunt and 1 other teammate.
Lore-wise, the way Wrex dies on Virmire makes 0 sense. He’s probably stronger in a fight than Shepard during ME1, with only the upgrades and experience through ME2 giving Shepard an edge in ME3.
@@Raptor_Ren Honestly with how shields and barriers work in Mass Effect, Nihlus dying doesn’t make sense either. He was in a hot zone so one bullet shouldn’t have pierced his I would assume active shield as we’ve seen on multiple occasions that it takes more than 1 pistol round to pierce a shield.

@@archiev1976 yes however Ash's isn't as good when combined with her disruptor ammo skill vs Garrus' AP rounds. James does better with an explosive incendiary ammo Typhoon than Ashley with it.
If it was real life, i would never have Tali leave the ship knowing any damage can be fatal. The mission would have to be tailored specifically to Quarian/geth tech since Edi could do everything else.
The Quarians would need to have some serious Shielding to be viable in a real world conflict. In Warfare, a casuality is anyone who's been compromised, either by injury or death. In many ways, straight up killing your target isn't the most effective method of causing the most harm to the enemy. Injuring them to the point where they need to evac the wounded requires resources and man power. It's why in a small fireteam, if one is down, it can halt a group of 5, as you'd need 1 or 2 to guard your wounded, and the remaining 2 can't cover enough sectors to move/fight efficiently. Now take a quarian. The moment their shielding fails and the bullet rips into their suit, injuring them, even its a flesh wound, will begin a series of events where their body is working against the clock. Not only do they worry about blood loss, but fevers and allergic reaction begin. Kal Reegar was on deaths door when we got to him. And if we don't tell him to stand down, he dies. Quarians are a front line liability. Better suited to rear or supporting roles where they don't see direct conflict.
Ya know, I rewatch a lot of the same shit, and considering this channel is always one of the ones I constantly rewatch, I think this has provided me with the biggest smile on my face
Oh my god I love this so much! Love how you added the citadel dlc party music in the background. This whole discussion feels like it belongs in the game 😂
Mordin Solus is an STG ex-operative. When you first meet him he was casually killing off dozens of blue suns who came to close to his clinic. He regularly tossed with krogans on his runs in tuchanka, killed many people in many ways: guns, knives, drugs, tech attacks, once with farming equipment! And he broke Omega's first rule!! I mean, if he can get ARIA to run back to Afterlife, no way is he C-tier!

This is just the Mass Effect content I needed. I've been missing Mass Effect and all my favorite squadmates for years. All their personalities are on-point too!
This is amazing, I really hope you do more! This is all extremely in-character. If you ever run out of monthly characters from ElevenLabs, I'm willing to donate mine since I have nothing better to use them for.
This was really well-written!!! I wish the voice actors could get paid for stuff like this though. Like people (or the AI company) should have to pay a fee to use their voice. That is their unique art, after all.
Tali in ME1 is a S tier companion in combat. Unfortunally in ME2 she's a D or C at best. in ME3 I'll say A, reduce the cooldown time as much as possible, give rockets to her drone and AoE shield Drain along with Paladin pistol and Wraith Shotgun she's a great squadmate. So overall I would give her B. I agree with Wrex being in S, bro is a walking meat tank. Thane should be S as well imo. Edit: Kasumi is extremelly flexible, c'mon bro. And Grunt below Garrus is wrong.
Keep in mind that for insanity playthrough for the trilogy it pretty much opens saying "don't take Garrus out of your party." He is from a species who requires a tour of military service and spent years operating in a near total hostile environment (Omega). His weapons training means he can probably use everything from a steak knife to a grenade launcher with competence. Add to it he spent DAYS under siege from the three gangs/mafias of the galaxy alone and without sleep and was still keeping them at bay before Shepard joined in. Grunt is a badass certainly, but high impact sniper round to the head will shred the krogan plate armor and turn his brain into a soupy substance.
I love how in-character this video is, it'd be cool to do more like this. Also Jacob and Kaidan, despite being some of the least favorite squadmates, really come across sweet and kind in this video. Jacob in particular being happy with being in last is gracious and Kaidan complementing Thane came across so genuine lol.
Legion is quite OP on insanity as he actually knows how to use covers and uses his drones to distract enemies, that plus he wields the best sniper riffle in the game and pretty much Shepared + Legion can solo most of the game. The only problem is that bioware gives him way too late. Unless you use mods or save editor.
I can say with certainty I hate how much of this list I agree with. Not putting Jacob at the bottom of any tier list physically pains me but I have to be honest. What a sacrifice we must make for our integrity. It pains me just as much to have Tali so low. But we don't need Tali to fight. Tali can stay safe out of combat. I'm glad to see some facts and Logic putting Wrex at the top. Let nobody forget He killed a Thresher Maw alone on his Rite of Passage. Grunt needed Shepard to do the Heavy Lifting. Wrex (along with Samara) also has centuries of experience on the rest. He's also open minded and able to accept and embrace change which can only be an asset. If anyone wants to bring up the insult that was the Virmire bad ending then I will fight them myself. That was unjust.
On my very first playthrough I barely used Wrex in ME1. Only after we see him in ME3 did I realise how awesome he is. Now, he's mostly my go-to in ME1 replays. It's a cruel tease we only get him briefly in ME3!

It's always correct to ascend Garrus to godhood.
In actual gameplay that is correct but this video is about how strong they are in the stories. But I always pick Garrus for my squad of course.
so would James and Ashley. They both have bonuses to assault rifle damage
@@archiev1976 True, but not quite as many overall damage bonuses compared to Garrus.
@@archiev1976 yes however Ash's isn't as good when combined with her disruptor ammo skill vs Garrus' AP rounds. James does better with an explosive incendiary ammo Typhoon than Ashley with it.
loved the banter. this was great!!
Favourite UA-camr atm… your Mass Effect videos are hella addictive and have really good replay value
Zaeed putting music on and ranking himself correcetly. Amazing
I really felt like i was back in the citadel dlc. Felt good having this feeling of discovering new things about a game i fell in love with so long ago
Great video fam. You're really the GOAT of AI Mass Effect videos.
Like most of us in real life Tali is much more usefull in a war safely removed from actual fighting.
Surprised that thane, zaeed and Jacob made it as high as they did.
But happy to see them get some respect
Report to the ship as soon as possible.
My man Zaeed finally getting the respect he deserves! The rest is also well placed. Wouldn't change a thing!
Ya know, I rewatch a lot of the same shit, and considering this channel is always one of the ones I constantly rewatch, I think this has provided me with the biggest smile on my face
My boy Zaeed getting the respect he deserves.
It's currently 2AM and I can't stop watching these, you're incredible, keep doing what you're doing
Oh my god I love this so much! Love how you added the citadel dlc party music in the background. This whole discussion feels like it belongs in the game 😂
James being the next Human N7 Operative is amazing and I’ve headcanoned it for ages.
Commander Shepard! You forgot that Wrex also defeated a Mawworm(?) during his Initiation all by himself on Tuchanka!
I still really like this video, with how the entire squad is interacting with each other
Zaeed was shot in the fucking head and just didn't die. LMAO
12:50
Shep: What is that music?
Saeed: THE OG IS COMING TROUGH!
That's awesome. 😂
The problem is that he is off-prime, his power level (within the game) is relatively low.
@@quentinhirschfeld9382 In insanity me2 Mordin is one of the most usefull squad members due to his incinerate vs armored enemies. But he's not a frontliner like grunt meant for war.
@@mortaljokes
Lore wise not
@@quentinhirschfeld9382 lorewise? What lore, fact he's old and not in his prime? It never says salarians get weaker the older they get. This man fought Aria toe to toe with stg tricks, and he's rated bottom tier? Doesn't make sense.
@@mortaljokes
Salarians lives up to 40 years of age.
Physically, species decline the older they get, except Asari that have completely different biology as natural biotic.
If you send Mordin protecting the survivor in the suicide mission, he dies, because the game has a secret power level that makes him among the weakest squad members lore wise.
Great video! We need more of this, the cast interacting like that! I also wanna see the presidents dropping some hot theories about the next game
I was sceptical when i saw PrimeRadiancy video without POTUS in my feed. Glad it was proofed to be unfounded.
"Stop staring."
NEVER!!!
Agreed!
Brilliant video. Thanks for making this.
This is pure genius.
I loved how this video was set up and how each of the characters talked shit about each other.
Wrex also fucking took down the thresher maw during his rite of passage, no1 else has done that in centuries till Shep came to help out Grunt
Voices sound a little off but still amazing
Tali in ME1 is a S tier companion in combat. Unfortunally in ME2 she's a D or C at best. in ME3 I'll say A, reduce the cooldown time as much as possible, give rockets to her drone and AoE shield Drain along with Paladin pistol and Wraith Shotgun she's a great squadmate. So overall I would give her B.
I agree with Wrex being in S, bro is a walking meat tank.
Thane should be S as well imo.
Edit: Kasumi is extremelly flexible, c'mon bro. And Grunt below Garrus is wrong.
Flexible....😏😏
Yo bro, are you that guy from reddit? I think I've seen you're pfp before on the ME subreddits.
Sure in terms of gameplay but I think Primes rankings with the lore aspects as the key components make perfect sense.
@@derrickbrown2831 Lone Wolf yeah.
This is amazing lmao good job on the characterisation and banter. Now we need a "shepards favourite squadmate" ranking
Great video as well. Glad to see Zaeed get the credit he deserves.
This is one of the greatest things ever. Never expected the entire team to have AI voices but I want more of it!
Javik is the Shepard of his cycle. Also Wrex is the GOAT - he is a seasoned warrior, a biotic, and has what Krogan considers diplomatic abilities.
Kaidan gracefully takes the survivor's win.
This was phenomenal and generally pretty accurate.
Not gonna mention God mode garrus. The insanity boss killer.
I haven't played or watched any Mass Effect media, but damn I love that Grant guy, he took high B tier ranking with pride
Kasumi's flexibility is second-to-none.
Legion got knocked out by a little slap from a husk.
14:16. Wait, Jack encountered the Space Ninja?
Thane's habit of murdering Asari makes him low tier for me. 😁 Even more for Samara.
Yes and she folded him zero diff.
what about her reach tho
Straight gold. Custom made. Speechless. Thank you for your video.
Ashley was using plotonium rounds, and even then, it takes several Plotonium rounds to the organs to keep him down.
On my very first playthrough I barely used Wrex in ME1. Only after we see him in ME3 did I realise how awesome he is. Now, he's mostly my go-to in ME1 replays. It's a cruel tease we only get him briefly in ME3!
What an entertaining video! Thank you for making it - I enjoyed hearing all of the squadmates together again 😊
I forgot Zaeed's voice actor but he passed away some time ago. RIP.
